While most people could tell that was Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder. You really should have put him on this list for Young Guns. He was one of the cowboys that surrounds the house at the end. When Billy the Kid is thrown out in the chest and they make their escape, Cruise gets shot. No one could tell that it was him
My husband did not believe it was him in Tropic Thunder. I had to pull up imdb 😅

part of the reason his role is famous is because so many people DIDN'T recognize he was in it until the credits were rolling.
and to mention his cameo in Young Guns misses the point of the list. it's not about small roles/appearances, it's about not really recognizing who the actor is.
i guess this channel is dedicating an entire list to all the famous actors who were in Star Wars projects w/o anyone realizing it.
@@whitedevil2 no his cameo in Young Guns is exactly the point of the video. No one recognizes him in the movie. You can't even tell it's him until you slow it down or pause it.
Gary Oldman was in Hannibal playing Mason Verger in the wheelchair.
As well as the makeup, Oldman also went uncredited in the movie
I still wish they could have got John hurt for that role. it would of made a nice easter egg nostalgia considering Hurt and Hopkins had co-starred in the elephant man.

I can't tell you the number of times I watched this movie before I realized it was him. About five years ago I was watching it and just let the credits run (usually I turn it off). Gary Oldmans' name rolls up the screen and I scream, grab the remote and scare the hell out of my wife.
Yeah but in the flashback sequence its clearly Gary Oldman.
You mention Billy Crystal as Miracle Max but don't include Carol Kane as Valerie, Max's partner? A two-for-one chance and - oops - nothing. Cheers....

Who's Carol Kane?
He made sure to not be recognized, in this case means he was involved in the makeup design. Everybody who saw that movie during its release era recognized them both immediately, but maybe her makeup was simply modeled to match what he had. If she wasn't given creative control in that regard, then she didn't "avoid being recognized".

Paul Reubens in Flight of the Navigator. He even asked for his name to be changed to Paul Mall in the credits.

I've watched Princess Bride plenty of times and never one time even suspected that I wasn't supposed to recognize Billy Crystal. He was easier to recognize than Ian McKellen in LOTR.
Billy Crystal, even with all the makeup, was as easy to recognize in Princess Bride as Peter Falk was.
Like everything about miracle max was classic billy crystal. That would be like saying you werent supposed to know he voiced calcifer in the dub of howls moving castle or mike in monsters inc. If the princess bride ever gets remade, i hope its done in his life time, because hed still be perfect for miracle max
Also, Carol Kane under makeup in “The Princess Bride”. I mean she was standing right next to Billy Crystal and you “accidentally” forgot to mention her.

When my wife and I watched Tropic Thunder, I didn't tell her that Cruise was in it. It took her a while to realize it, I think it wasn't until the part where he started a shouting tirade.
Three I was expecting to see:
1. Tim Robbins in Top Gun
2. Gary Oldman in Hannibal
3. Daniel Craig in The Force Awakens
Well Tim Robbins was just a small time actor then. He wasnt hidden so much as he had few scenes and both of them were with an oxygen mask on.
Daniel Craig definitely should have been on the list because it was very deliberate. He was a huge star and it was sort of a joke to slip him in there uncredited.
You mention Billy Crystal in The Princesses Bride but NOT Carole Kane who played the wife??!?!?!? Kane is LOADS more famous than Crystal.

On a slight tangent, I've always thought that if I were a Hanks, Cruise, Pitt level actor, I would find to hoot to play bit parts as maybe a bartender or a doorman. No lines and maybe even end up on the cutting room floor. But could you imagine watching the 'star' of a movie walking into a fast food joint and there's Tom Hanks flipping burgers in the background? There was a bit of this in the movie The Exorcist III. Larry King and C. Everett Koopt having dinner in the restaurant scene. Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Ewing, Fabio in the dream sequence.

A better title would be "actors who were allowed full control on their character's appearance". With the exception of David Hyde Pierce that is. He would be in a list of actors who did uncredited cameos.

Not many people realise Kiera Knightly is in Star Wars The Phantom Menace. She was one of Queen Amidala's body doubles/handmaidens and takes the queen's place wearing geisha-like makeup in a scene where the real Padme poses as a handmaiden. Rose Byrne also played a fake Padme; the one who gets assassinated at the beginning of Attack of the Clones.
Both actresses mothers were on set and allegedly had trouble telling them apart!
Well she wasnt hidden. She was right there in plain view. She just was not famous yet and no one knew to look for her.

I agree with some of the actors listed in the comments especially Glenn Close in Hook! I would also like to mention Nicole Kidman in The Hours (I believe that’s the name of the movie) she wore a nose prosthetic & Nicole Kidman was gone! 😂 Also Charlize Theron in Monster…👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽10/10 how they transformed her into Eileen Wournos (sp) is still puzzling to me. She deserved that Oscar win. I know she put on 30 pounds, but she looked NOTHING like herself (30 lbs is still small to me I didn’t see a huge difference) also Charlize played I believe Megan Kelly in that one movie with Nicole Kidman & Margot Robbie again, I had no idea that was Charlize Theron she looked like a totally different actress.
