As a fan of the SN30 Pro (I own both wired and wireless), I look forward to trying out the SN30 Pro 2. Just ordered mine off Amazon (as well as a couple controller stands).
Mine came today, haven't used it yet, I'll be keeping it for a very long time and will be ideal for the Switch if I get one in the near future. I'm in love with the Game Boy look of it as well 🔥
I'm in the same boat, but it's such a quality controller I'm not too bitter about it. Plus I got the SNES style one, and I hear Nintendo is making them stop selling that one.
I made the same mistake but way worse - i live in israel where hardware is much more limited and expensive and i was in dire need of a new gamepad cause my pro plus from aliexpress broke (i did get it from the official store but it went through so much hell, its my fault...), and it was black friday - i was kimda scared to buy a gamepad from aliexpress again, official or not, and amazon dosent ship here, but a local store was selling the power a wireless controller for 50 bucks (on sale...) which is its msrp in the us, so i bit the bullet and got it (8bitdo pads are the same price for way more but i was still a little scared to get another one). The just a few months later, they announce this thing, and will ya look at that, my dad is flying to america in 2 weeks. The power a's lack of fearures (especially the need for aa batteries) was getting on my nerved and i just NEEDED this thing, so what i did was agree to sell my power a to a friend after my dad comes back for a decent enough price - i managed to grab the black one when it was in stock for like 24 hours (these things are out of stock almost permanantly) and im getting it soon!
I'm pretty sure it's Retro-Bit that made the Sega Saturn style wireless pad, but there were officially licensed Sega Genesis and Saturn controllers, wireless and wired, for modern systems(they even did limited runs of other colors). They had 2.4GHz models or bluetooth, kicking myself for not getting some. If you search on here, you'll see when they came out, they gave every youtuber freakin complete sets of these controllers, and doubles, it really sucks for us normies who have to pay for their controllers while these youtubers sell the crap they get for free. Oof, I got salty, it's just that imagine all the cool things these guys get over the years that you and I would actually use, just being put into their collection shelves or sold. It sucks, just imagine all the cool things over the years that this happens to, countless amazing products to help us enjoy our consoles, only for the "elite" gamer to afford them now.
@@Chicomite I have the Breasts Cancer Logoed Pink one from Limited Run that I got for my mother, I opted to put a Saturn Bluetooth kit in it from 8-bit do though... (Don't worry I obviously still have it's original Pink color wired board)
@@Chicomite Appreciate the info drop. I've tried the Sega Saturn Controller. The D-Pad is quite glorious.. but mine broke!!! & I've never liked the button layout.. makes it difficult to reach the trigger. SNES button layout, with a squishy Sega Saturn D-pad would be so devine! Thanks for letting me know about this. Oh.. also, I opened my Sega Saturn controller.. the inner D-Pad plastic 'down' portion was broken off. So it's like a plus sign, and the bottom portion broke clean off.. leaving an upside down 'T' still in tact.
@@ismalali The last time I even found a pad with a Sega style directional parid with a SNES face button layout was when I got one of Logitech's offerings that mostly tried to mimic the PlayStation DualShock form factor for Windows games back when Microsoft finally started pushing priority's for there own controller support in PC games... They're not bad controllers at all but they where never built to handle hours of solid use for things like fighting games... I know this first hand because I went through four of them in under a year and really couldn't find any kind of work around that didn't require moderate workshop modifications to try and offset a built-in design flaw besides for spending more money for thermal greece then I did on the pads to try and keep them functional during use... I was mostly just trying to use them to play the original Super Smash Bro's online with M64 until I came across an adapter that let me use my Game Cube pad instead... I love the AA rechargeable battery option. Having an app is really cool. Although I seriously don't see why 3rd party controllers can't wake up a system that just doesn't make sense.

How do the sticks feel? I didn't like the sticks on the original pro+ at all. They felt cheap and like they had no resistance. Nothing like Nintendo's pro sticks or even the Ds4 sticks
I got my grey one today and the G edition is on the way too. Got to be honest and say while I think it's a solid controller and many great features. Try playing Binding of Isaac on your phone with that and see if it’s playable. I was so fired up maybe 3-4 years ago to play TBoI on my iPhone in the car on my lunch break with a Bluetooth gamepad and the input lag was so bad the game was unplayable.
This looks like an awesome controller. I still prefer the original SN30 pro with the authentic snes design that they don't make anymore. But if I needed a PlayStation styled controller, would definitely go for this one. These 8bitdo products blow the switch pro controller out of the water. You can use them for pretty much any device. I've used mine on the Switch, Firestick, nvidia shield, ps1 mini, along with my Android phone and they work flawlessly.
They’re almost identical. Pro2 has a physical switch to change modes. Pro 1 required user to memorize and press button combos to switch modes. Otherwise almost no difference. (Unless someone points out a difference). Fortunately I do not own a pro 1, because if I already did, I would have doubts about the value of the pro 2.
