I've always shown favouritism towards the RYNO II, it's precise and destructive. I do find it interesting though that both Naughty Dog and insomniac had a main gun in their third PS2 game that ultimately annihilates all small enemies in a close radius, in Ratchet & Clank 3 it was the Rynocirator, and in Jak 3 it was the Supernova
The ryno 3 was cool until it reached its max lvl. Before you actually had to hit the enemies but then you upgrade it and you just shoot it once and ruins the experience of it

the harbringer into the the supernova was okay, though it didn't target all the enemies on screen and did crap damage if they were conveniently out of range
@@thevashfan12392 I only recently played Deadlocked for the first time, but the Supernova was my saving grace for the first half of the Vox fight on Exterminator (the highest) difficulty. It destroyed all the swarms he sent out and dealt a little damage to him with every use.
And now it's a portal-gun. ... And then there was that time it was a mech suit, and a Zodiac wannabe. ... I was gonna bring up the RYNO 2 only firing one rocket at a time, but then I realised that it was rapidfire, making it abit like a minigun with rockets for ammo.
My top 7 Rynos: 7. Ryno VI Pros: Teamwork shockwave . Cons: Only 12 ammo and no upgrades. 6. Ryno III Pros: Cool design and awesome sound. Cons: White screen and change of functunality as it levels up. 5. Ryno II Pros: Lock-on, powerful and flashy blue rockets. Cons: Not that enjoyable to use and basic. 4. R.Y.N.O Pros: Huge ammo capacity, 7 rockets per shot and powerful. Cons: Reload time. 3. Ryno IV Pros: Powerful, fast and god combo with Golden Groovitron. Cons: Too OP and makes other weapons in your arsenal useless. 2. Ryno VII Pros: Powerful, fast, good aim and music. Cons: Design, runs out too fast and no ammo pickups. 1. Ryno V Pros: Very fun to use, a lot of ammo, awesome design and music. Cons: Weak.
VtnVivi Thanks! Yeah, in level 1, the Ry3no was a lot more straight to the point firing awesome looking rockets that felt crispy clean to fire. It was weird seeing it change so much and sometimes it looks like the weapon is even weaker in the higher levels...
Ryno 2 had a lot of control in terms of targeting, but it's hard to deny the Ryno 3's instant white light incineration, definitely have to side with Ryno 3. It wasn't as strong on bosses oddly enough, but still wiped the floor with any enemy. Great video!!!!
I tottally agree on the first one, the sound of each missile shot by that RYNO 2 just says it all: FEEL DA POWAAA MWHAHAHAHA. I swear I heard 'em say that each time they would come out of their barrel.
The R.Y.N.O. from the first game actually auto-targets. I figured this out by accident by accidentally shooting the R.Y.N.O. on Veldin (last level) at nothing. the missiles were headed to a commando's direction and I said to myself "There's no way that bullet (I know it's a missile) will hit it," when suddenly, it stopped spiraling and went towards the commando and hit it. I was mind-blown! I thought that you needed to see the targeting crosshair... thingy, for it to go in it's direction. This not a hate comment! I'm only pointing out a very missable detail.
And on that, we cannot dissagree. If there are no enemies nearby, well the rockets will spiral like crazy in these weird directions. Gee, 10 months until I reply. XD
7: RYNO VI Protosuit The reason I put the protosuit here is because its a weird idea for the RYNO and 12 ammo isn't even close to enough. 6: RYNO IV This RYNO is well overpowered more than a RYNO should be and the ammo runs out quickly. 5: RYNO Well I put the first RYNO here because well its the first one ever. 4: RY3NO This one is my favourite but I had to put it here because of the close combat instead of lock on and can only kill crowds of nearby enemies. 3: RYNO II I put this RYNO here well because I just found it awesome and the lock on is just perfect but I didn't enjoy using it as much as the 2 ahead. 2: RYNO VII Night on Bald Mountain thats all I have to say. 1: RYNO V Overture 1812 again all I have to say.
The RYNO 3 V5 Destroy ennemies in your field of view, not ennemies that are "close" to you. You can kill ennemies quite far with it, and miss ennemies that are very close. Before it becomes a V5 is still an awesome (maybe even more than full upgraded) muti target lock on missile luncher
The Ryno IV will always be my favorite one, this weapon is strong and effective that i would give it 10/10. The "lasers" look amazing and it killed all bosses so quick
+lenz17sp Let's just say I stuck to Insomniac titles. I know I know, what's the point :p. Ryno from Size Matters is pretty over powered, you could take down the final boss within a couple of seconds.

As for RYNO 6 I don’t like how it’s a suit so it’s the worst for me.
I agree RYNO 2 is the best one because i love r&c 2 my favourite childhood game and ive clocked the game so many times the only weapons i use are the force field (shield) the 4 robots and the ryno 2 thats all i use on r&c 2 i have so many bolts on that game that i just rush it and i clocked the game 2 times in 2 days its so easy for me i just know everything off by heart

Toxid Zew By clock, I mean I would 100% the game :p. By upgrading easily, I meant that I would use some weapons on strong enemies later on in the game, where the weapon would just level up quick.
+themain Lo I didn't find the RYNO 2 that good to be honest. I mean, sure its great against ground foes, but vs flying foes and ships it handles a bit awkward unlike the Bouncer and Tesla. Also, the bullets ran out too fast. In my mind, the best RYNOs are a tie between RYNO IV and RYNO VII.

Tha Ryno for R&C on PS4 is insanely powerful. I beat the last boss on hard within 1 minute starting of with The Ryno on level 1 and without any upgrades. Waaaaaay tooooooooooo Powerful. There is no challenge to it, kind of fun though.
I came up with my own RYNO. It combines the RYNO 1, the RYNO 5, the RYNOCIRATOR, and the RYNO 4. I love all the RYNOs, but imagine if they were all COMBINED. Simply. Amazing.

It costs 9,999,999 bolts. I got 20 million bolts from RC3 in 2 playthroughs without spending anything (using the HD Collection Debug Code, up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, Square, then L3 or R3 on a weapon or gadget slot) except bullets.
I didn't like the R.Y.N.O. 2 very much because it was too clean, and only fired a single rocket at a time. I really liked the first one and the others because they where messy, and showed how over powered they were with multiple missels or bullets.

Never played into nexus or the original games. Mine would be this order: 7- RYNO , 6-RYNO 4, 5-RYNO 6 Suit, 4-RYNO 7, 3-RYNO 3, 2- RYNO 2, and finally my all time personal favorite from my favorite ratchet and Clank game, 1- RYNO 5
OG RYNO will never be topped imo. The sound design of so many chunky warheads exploding in quick succession is just RAW in the best ways possible. Sure the successors are flashier and all that but sometimes simplicity brings out something special.
I'm sad that you did not mention the Harbinger or Zodiac since they are the R.Y.N.O equivalent of this games, especially the Harbringer was awesome with the Orbital Strikes and meteor showers.
RYNO IV is hands down the best RYNO. It can take down Tachyon in approx 10 seconds. It doesn’t even matter that you miss the shot, coz they deal so much dps anyways.
RY3NO is my favourite, I loved the idea of your enemies just melting, and it wasn't OP against bosses and therefore didn't ruin the battle because of it being so easy with it, then RYNO 2, RYNO V, RYNO IV, RYNO and I cant really remember the one from nexus, I got it but didn't enjoy the game so just played it until I completed challenge mode. all 4 one... well... lets just leave that one be...
Good list an after watching this video I've concluded that the latest game now has the best rhyno by far with it, it is possible to finish the game on hard is under 4 hours such a fun gun to use
an updated list wouldn’t be much different since the PS4 Ryno in terms of function is identical to the Ryno 7. I’d put the PS4 Ryno between ACIT and Nexus on the list though since they lazily just reused the model from TOD and I’m also pretty sure everyone was either hoping for something different or for them to make the PS4 Ryno a spin on the original.
R.Y.N.O. II > > R.Y.3.N.O. = R.Y.N.O. IV > R.Y.N.O. > Every other R.Y.N.O. incarnation. Without the orginal we would not have the others possibly..I actually played Going Commando before the first one, so that might be one reason I herald 2 over any other R.Y.N.O.. 2 was simplistic, hold the trigger down and lay waste to whatever you hit. It was OP and OP done right and worth the grind to get. 3 would've been nice if it didn't turn into a pseudo Zodiac weapon. 4 carried on the idea of 3 but had the kinda rapid fire like 2.
in my opinion, the best RYNO is the RY3NO, it doesnt just kill close enemies, it kills all enemies that your looking at and whatever the missles touch, with bosses it doesnt have to hit it cause if your looking at the boss when you fire it takes damage it just takes more when it goes through
+ataa9200 Cool! If I remember correctly, the RYNO 3 wasn't that effective when it came to enemies at long distance. But for a short range, this RYNO is pretty effective.
I beat the third game with no armour and only the first 3 weapons: Shock Blaster, Nitro Launcher and N60 Storm. Also, no Shield Charger or anything else.
The worst one in my opinion was the RYNO IV simply because the reward was so underwhelming and the fact that you had to get too close, resulting in a lot of deaths. Idk why but I really struggled with Tools of Destruction as I used to get 1 shotted a lot in challenge mode. My favourite would have to be the RYNO V because listening to Overture just made the weapon feel epic. It really shines in the battle arenas as you could mow down legions of enemies without ever releasing the fire button. You would also pickup Ammo everywhere. Best weapon ever, for the best game in the franchise this far.
Something that could interest you: you know that in the Spanish version of the game the three first rhynos where called TAUN? Then in back to the future changed the name to RHYNO, and today I understand that this name was the original.
7:35 I know I'm 4 years late for this, but fun fact. There's another way of aiming with the RYNO V rather than simply zooming in over your shoulder, which limits your moves such as jumping, with L1. You can go in the options menu and click camera movement (or something like that) and you can switch it to shooter. This allows Ratchet to aim with any weapon without having to strafe or pan your camera over your shoulder. You can aim the RYNO V in any direction you'd like without using L1. It's similar to this 10:42. There might be a little learning curve, such as if you strafe with this feature than you'll zoom your camera in over your shoulder. But once you get used to it, it's game time.
ryno IV 6/10??? are you kidding me????? That thing really blows up everything in your path, ennemi or boss, everything will go down easily and you rate this a 6???????????? ryno V is the biggest shit ever, that thing doesnt hit a hydratank even if you are 1 meter close: 2/10 because it has 3000 ammo

Literally just wanted to click this to say RYNO II was the best one of all of them. I hated the upgraded version of the one for 3... although honestly I haven't seen some of the new ones either. RYNO II had the most efficient lock-on targeting and dealt the best damage especially leveled up. It seemed like every Ryno after 2 just got weaker or less efficient- or even just less fun to use. Edit: I can't remember precisely, but I think in 2 you could actually pick up ammo for the RYNO as well. Could be remembering wrong, but either way what I said before holds true. Just use that PDA ;) farm the Tundra, the Desert and the Megacorp Facility where you get the Mini-Rocket Tube. Easy profits and lots of smashables with the multipliers up. At 6:20 probably one of my favorite levels of ToD.

Yes I regret upgrading it to max. It only kills enemies within your field of view and range was limited. Wish I could downgrade it
That and it's damage was pitiful for the nuke end of it. Actually had to shotgun things with it to do real damage.

Harbinger from Ratchet Gladiator at Level 100 was some broken ass shit...It was actually a full blown air strike every time you fired once lol
I like the Ryno 3 and 4 the best because they felt very unique. Ryno 3 made me feel like my gun made a small sun

OG RYNO will never be topped imo.
The sound design of so many chunky warheads exploding in quick succession is just RAW in the best ways possible.
Sure the successors are flashier and all that but sometimes simplicity brings out something special.
The ryno from ratchet and clank 1 PS2/PS3 version made the drek final boss absolutely trivial.
I'm sad that you did not mention the Harbinger or Zodiac since they are the R.Y.N.O equivalent of this games, especially the Harbringer was awesome with the Orbital Strikes and meteor showers.

RYNO IV is hands down the best RYNO. It can take down Tachyon in approx 10 seconds. It doesn’t even matter that you miss the shot, coz they deal so much dps anyways.

RY3NO is my favourite, I loved the idea of your enemies just melting, and it wasn't OP against bosses and therefore didn't ruin the battle because of it being so easy with it, then RYNO 2, RYNO V, RYNO IV, RYNO and I cant really remember the one from nexus, I got it but didn't enjoy the game so just played it until I completed challenge mode. all 4 one... well... lets just leave that one be...

Good list an after watching this video I've concluded that the latest game now has the best rhyno by far with it, it is possible to finish the game on hard is under 4 hours such a fun gun to use

an updated list wouldn’t be much different since the PS4 Ryno in terms of function is identical to the Ryno 7. I’d put the PS4 Ryno between ACIT and Nexus on the list though since they lazily just reused the model from TOD and I’m also pretty sure everyone was either hoping for something different or for them to make the PS4 Ryno a spin on the original.

Without the orginal we would not have the others possibly..I actually played Going Commando before the first one, so that might be one reason I herald 2 over any other R.Y.N.O.. 2 was simplistic, hold the trigger down and lay waste to whatever you hit. It was OP and OP done right and worth the grind to get. 3 would've been nice if it didn't turn into a pseudo Zodiac weapon. 4 carried on the idea of 3 but had the kinda rapid fire like 2.

in my opinion, the best RYNO is the RY3NO, it doesnt just kill close enemies, it kills all enemies that your looking at and whatever the missles touch, with bosses it doesnt have to hit it cause if your looking at the boss when you fire it takes damage it just takes more when it goes through
+ataa9200 Cool! If I remember correctly, the RYNO 3 wasn't that effective when it came to enemies at long distance. But for a short range, this RYNO is pretty effective.
I beat RC 2, 3 and ToD without armour.
3 was the hardest. Thank god for the Shield Charger!

I beat the third game with no armour and only the first 3 weapons: Shock Blaster, Nitro Launcher and N60 Storm. Also, no Shield Charger or anything else.
R.Y.N.O in the Ratchet and Clank PS4 will always be the first, that killed bosses in 2 shots, and also it played the orchestra aswell

to be honest, it took me a while, but in the end, ive completed the game in less than 3 hours by just using the RYNO. kills bosses in like 2 shots

The RYNO m is identical to the RYNO V but fires missiles that as soon as they hit an enemy every enemy on the screen just dies exept for the progs

The worst one in my opinion was the RYNO IV simply because the reward was so underwhelming and the fact that you had to get too close, resulting in a lot of deaths. Idk why but I really struggled with Tools of Destruction as I used to get 1 shotted a lot in challenge mode. My favourite would have to be the RYNO V because listening to Overture just made the weapon feel epic. It really shines in the battle arenas as you could mow down legions of enemies without ever releasing the fire button. You would also pickup Ammo everywhere. Best weapon ever, for the best game in the franchise this far.

I know I'm 4 years late for this, but fun fact. There's another way of aiming with the RYNO V rather than simply zooming in over your shoulder, which limits your moves such as jumping, with L1. You can go in the options menu and click camera movement (or something like that) and you can switch it to shooter. This allows Ratchet to aim with any weapon without having to strafe or pan your camera over your shoulder. You can aim the RYNO V in any direction you'd like without using L1. It's similar to this 10:42. There might be a little learning curve, such as if you strafe with this feature than you'll zoom your camera in over your shoulder. But once you get used to it, it's game time.

the ryno 3 kills all non-boss enemies on screen within render range, (its not a AOE gun) if a enemy slips off screen during the flash it will not die

Literally just wanted to click this to say RYNO II was the best one of all of them. I hated the upgraded version of the one for 3... although honestly I haven't seen some of the new ones either. RYNO II had the most efficient lock-on targeting and dealt the best damage especially leveled up. It seemed like every Ryno after 2 just got weaker or less efficient- or even just less fun to use.
Edit: I can't remember precisely, but I think in 2 you could actually pick up ammo for the RYNO as well. Could be remembering wrong, but either way what I said before holds true. Just use that PDA ;) farm the Tundra, the Desert and the Megacorp Facility where you get the Mini-Rocket Tube. Easy profits and lots of smashables with the multipliers up.
At 6:20 probably one of my favorite levels of ToD.

It's funny, now the Harbinger is one of the 9 RYNO cards in the new remake, so I guess it was a RYNO all along!
Also, the new RYNO from 2016 seems to be a revamped and more fun version of the RYNO IV from Tools of Destruction! They look exactly the same!
