I've had the same snake plant for almost 50 years! I bought it for 39 cents when it was small and half dead, and now it's huge. Every few years I remove it from the pot and use a hatchet or a saw to break the root ball in half. I keep one half and repot it in the same container with new dirt. In the summer it sits on my front steps in the sun and the rain, and I water it with the hose if we're having a drought. Every summer it blossoms! Before taking it inside for the winter, I flush out the soil liberally with the hose and let it thoroughly drain to get rid of pests. I also pull out leaves, twigs, and acorns and remove yellowed leaves. In the winter it sits in front of my north facing slider in the corner of my kitchen. I water it weekly, but not too much. It does very well with this regimen.
My son bought me a Snake Plant (we call them Mother-in-Law's Tongues in the UK) for Mother's Day 20 years ago. He just asked me how long they live. Now I know. Mine lives in the bathroom in a south facing frosted glass window. I also have a mini Orchid which sits next to it. Both plants are thriving. The bathroom is the only safe place for them as one of my cats eats anything that is green.

It's correct name is Sansaveria, or Mother in laws tongue . It comes in tall forms , one plain green all over , the other tall one has yellow , along each side of the leaf . The flowers are aromatic in the evening .
My Monstera Deliciosa plant grows outside and covers area of 25 square metres. The two inch rhizomes produces leave about three foot long, a very large plant with edible fruit.
The knowledge this man have is super impressive, and the whole attitude and how explains things makes me want to watch a plants-documentary presented by him!
I am collecting Sansevieria plants! I water them all about every 3 to 4 weeks. There are many varieties to choose from. Also they help to purify the air.
Your garden center looks very organized and clean - it looks easy to see and shop for plants as it seem enjoyable as well. Thank you for the good info.
I place my spiderplants outside in summer...cut them back in winter and put them in the heated garage....in spring I bring them back outside ..put them on my deck in partial shade...I've done this for several years and they're beautiful...🌿🌴🪴
You can have the same benefit by opening your window for some minutes. They absorb so little amount of toxic gases. If the space is closed and the air is not renewed then yes they do some work. (the plants have been tested by NASA for environments like small closed spaces in other planets)
Well I have bout 5 of these plants growing in a vase of water and there doing fabulous in just water . Takes the guessing game out of when to water them or not .
Caring presentation of the plants although it would be very helpful to indicate the quantity of pots to get to purify each specific room, AND especially the kind of soil each plant requires when repotting becomes necessary in the future...would save a lot of time for the buyer to have the soil already at home.

My window in the last flat , had all sorts of plants in it , from palms , orchids , Hoya , ferns , monstera Deliciosa , Sansaveria , various succulents . One of my neighbours got very jealous and for 2 years kept wasting police time , claiming I was growing pot - not one visit from the police in that time . The window had flowers all thru the year , which helped a lot of the other neighbours , by cheering them up , when coming up the drive , as it was the only window out of 153 flats , like that . I still have some of the succulents , which are now about 40 years old , woody , and flower well , which is brilliant .
Thank you for the acknowledgement , I trust some of your subscribers , will realize , that Al plants , that are cared for inside , will help keep ones immediate environments air quality in good order .
Great little tour! I never thought of palms as being air purifiers, so learned something new. I, too, refer to my potted plants as "this little guy here" and "that guy over there"! LOL
Beautiful display of plants!! Love all the greenery.....thanks for the tips and great instructions. Have a blessed rest of your day!! Texas Nana 🤠 PSALM 91

Kinda related to this video but I'm 20 and have had a really hard time deciding what I want to do in the future I've recently decided on envio science/studies and now seeing videos like these really boost that drive
I've a snake plant that's about 55 yrs old. Given to me by my husband's grandmother some 46 yrs ago. She'd had it for some yrs b4 that. I've also a peace lily plant that was given to me when my husband died 22 yrs ago. Very hardy plants indeed!
I really enjoyed your presentation. I want to go back to house plants it makes for a beautiful look bringing the outside in so natural. It really adds to ones decor plus acts as a filter that we breathe in our homes. Hope you continue with your videos. If you have some ideas for out door gardening I am all in for it. Thanks
Looking at the Monstera, I am from Canada and had it as a houseplant, moved to Australia and we had to remove it because it was absolutely huge - more that 20 feet high and as wide, and a great hiding place for snakes. Might try it in a pot again, thanks for the great information.
I am so glad I found this Channel today, I being thinking about getting some plans for my apartment thank for giving me some great ideas today I am loving this channel 🌳🌱🍀🌺💐🌸🌞❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Outstanding, I subscribed immediately. Here's a man who enjoys his work. Wish I had caught the name of that unique Sansevieria, a new introduction. Lovely shop, you should be enormously proud.
This was a delightful video! And you may just have saved a plant or two of mine! I'm rather new to plants but try hard to give them what they need. I've collected nearly everything you mentioned in this video. Along with loads of herbs... Those proved more difficult! Thank you Sir!
Pls do lots of research before buying some of these plants, if you have kids or house pets. Some that purify the air in your home, like snake plant ( known as ‘Mother-in-law’s tongue in Asia) or some lilies, are very toxic if eaten by pets or children. But thank you for all of the info in this video! Your business looks lovely and has a great variety, so I’m sure that all people can find a house plant that suits their needs!

Thank you! I had no idea how these are spelled so I can go find them.
Why dislike this video? This is about plants and plants give us oxygen (O2). DAH! He is very knowledgeable and their greenhouse is nice!

If the space is closed and the air is not renewed then yes they do some work. (the plants have been tested by NASA for environments like small closed spaces in other planets)
Except that in NASA's tests soil alone also removed a very small quantity of gases, just like the plants did.
This is for New Age people who want to feel good about their choices.
Thank you for your great explaination , how plants need the right kind of care.
