How did you do on today’s quiz? 😄Please keep in mind that Feng Shui is all about symbolism and energy. If you have a plant that you love and want to decorate with, go for it! 🪴 It’s your home, your vibe- you will give your plants power to nourish your home and well-being 💚
Julie I appreciate your advice, I am a new viewer who is the proud owner of a pineapple plant and a dragon tree whom i adore. I felt that "Dragon and it's origins" is good energy, would you confirm please Thank You
Hmm 🤔 I have a beautiful monstera and since I got it, nothing but good things have happened to me. I also have about 125+ indoor plants and they bring me lots of joy…
Yeah even I have two monsteras at my living area. Must say the moment I brought the monstera in the money started flowing!!! Wouldn’t say it’s an unlucky plant... has always given me positive vibes and it’s truly a lucky plant to me!!!!
Agree... I think it depends where you put it... She mentions a hallway, well that's a transition place you're not sitting or standing around, typically. So it brings life to an otherwise stagnant place.
Totally, I feel you. I have a video featuring 30 of my favorite low-light, low-maintenance plants and I call out whether they’re toxic. Check it out for more tips! 👍
It is said that the mind can't differentiate between what is a real plant and a faux plant. So for all the pet parents out there, if there's a plant you like but is toxic to pets, just get it in a faux plant version. It's a win, win! ☘️😊
Wow Julie dear, thanks for the tips, I will need to adjust my plant choices some, living in Florida offers such nice, rounded plants. I especially love the twisted trunk of the money tree.
Hi Julie. I have been a silent follower and a big fan of yours. I just want to ask if olive trees are good feng shui? I got a Monstera and I also want to ask if it is ok to plant it at our front courtyard? Thanks in advance
Your Lyrata is fantastic Julie!! I found this video really interesting. The only information I know about fung shui I've learned from your videos. I have about 30 house plants. I'm not really a collector, but I do have a reeeaaaallllyyyyy green thumb when it comes to indoor and outdoor plants and trees. I've kind of always naturally avoided cactus, spikey succulents, and thin sharp leaved plants. I just don't like the way they look or feel. I do however have a m. deliciosa that thinks it's in the jungle. I just can't get rid of it. I love it.
That’s the thing about Monstera- they’ve got a mind of their own! I LOVE the look, but have yet to adopt one because of FS implications. I can see it taking up a missing corner quite nicely 💚
Hi Julie, I live in Melbourne Australia and I have just found your content on RUclips. I loved the Feng Shui Do's and Don'ts for your bedroom. I have never felt comfortable in my bedroom since moving into my home in 2018. I now understand why. Don't ask my I have always been a supporter of Feng Shui, considering my knowledge is limited, but things I have learnt to me just makes sense. And I believe your bedroom needs to peaceful and calming. I have tried many things to make my bedroom all of the above. But my dog doesn't even feel comfortable, he only sleeps in my room cause he is my shadow. I really need your advice if at all possible. MY bedroom is a strange shape and so much that is taboo. Obviously some things like covering the doorway to my ensuite, so many sharp things pointed at my head, from wall angles, which I have no idea how to change. My bed position is in the absolute worst position, I can't see any other position other than the current death position. Sorry but after watching your video wow so much makes sense. It's like I've had a light bulb moment. Can I please send you what my floor plan is like? And can you please advise me what I should do. I would really love any help possible. Kind regards Kate Campbell
I am sure you can book her services. This is her passion but also a bread. Her parents paid a feng shui masters to come over and do advise and bless. You give to receive. Exchange must be done.
Hi Kate! Thank you for finding me and following along 🙏🏻☺️ Feel free to send me any inquiries on my website for business services, link is in the description box
Julie! I LOVE these kinds of videos! I love Feng Shui. I wonder if the plants with "bad Feng Shui" can be outside of the home? I mean in the front yard? Backyard? Maybe a terrace? Some place out of the bagua map's spaces? I hope you'll see this & give me your wise opinion. Thank you! ❤
Hi Cynthia! 👋🏻 I totally think some of these can work outside. Monstera grows so beautifully, I can see it taking up an entire missing corner of the garden if you need something large to fill up space. Even with the negative space on the fenestrated leaves- if you nourish it, you will give it power. I tend to stay away from cacti at all times. Thorny bushes like roses are bad Feng Shui, but I still have a bunch in my garden because I love how fragrant my roses are! I definitely pick and choose each battle 😉
I have lots of plants in my house but I don’t have money tree and money plant(Jade). Now I have a reason to go get one😀. What I have in the entry way are beautiful spider plant and snake plant ( I read they’re among the best for cleaning the air) but they’re pointy 😅. I’ll leave keep them there anyway because I love them🥰
Bonsai is torture of trees. Could you please let me know if having certain trees outside is also bad feng shui? Like ferns Outside. And cactuses such as they used to landscape homes in Arizona. Also having aloe vera outside In the garden. Is the feng shui of indoor plants the same as outdoor plants?
Feng Shui of indoor plants is more particular than outdoor ones. I have aloe Vera outside, but I wouldn’t bring it inside the home because of the pointy leaves. I don’t decorate with cacti inside nor out. I have a ton of fern and palm trees outside. Consider the shape of the leaves when outdoors and whether or not they point towards your body or head. That’s my guiding light 🌴
Not the Montserra plant! 🥲😢 I got because of one of ur previous videos and it being low maintenance. Not it’s growing beautifully and I love it. Can I move it? I have it in a North East corner.
If it’s growing beautifully and you love it, KEEP it!! 💚 I feel like your love is going to nurture all those negative fenestrations into a complete and happy plant Krishan 🪴
I learned alot from your video! Thanks for sharing! I have question, I have monstera plant, this plant was kept dying, giving me babies and growing. However, the new leaves doesn't have splits anymore. Will this be a good or still bad?
What about Albizia julibrissin, the Mimosa or Persian silk plant. Well I guess that's outside! It's used in Chinese medicine, a spirit or shen plant good for depression, insomnia, anxiety, nervous energy, angry but... Yes it's outside of course. There's also the Friendship plant and someone gave me a big one just today which I'm going to share with two friends. But it confusing though because the money plant and Happy Valley plant are one of these. And they are indoors of course.
Hello, I've heard that lucky plants should not be bought for yourself, but rather given as a gift, like a Money tree. Are there any plants that I can buy for myself? Thank you!
That’s more superstition than a Feng Shui principle (which I don’t believe) ☺️ Buy what you love! Bonus points for propagating the plant and GIFTING the babies to others 🪴
You have to test them out depending on the amount of sunlight you get streaming through. East sector is the best for plants/ trees/ growth corner, but I have plants scattered all throughout the home. 💚
Hi Julie, i. Devastated as I moved my rubber tree to a bit larger pot and it went into severe shock and dropped all is leaves. I feel horrible. On a different note my money tree is on the patio with lots of morning sun . Is that a good location for it? Unable to send a pic .
If the money tree is shooting out new leaves, it loves its placement 👏🏻 I did the same with my fiddle leaf fig. It got attacked by ants one hot summer day. I repotted it and shocked it. All the leaves dropped 😩 But I stayed headstrong and slowly nursed her back to fighting health with no leaves to begin with. Documented the journey on IG and she not only survived, but thrived! Was able to propagate more plants before I eventually gave her away 🤗
Feng Shui will always say that anything traveling down is akin to losing money, but to me, plants are conditional. Vined plants like the pothos can be propagated and gifted, so the simple act of cutting the vines and giving them away are a benevolent act that carries great chi 🪴
Is it Feng Shui or is it 'law of attraction'... over the past three weeks I've looked further into the origin and practice of Chinese metaphysics/feng shui and feel it's just so difficult - I've implemented 'law of attraction' & 'colour healing' because I cannot do anything about the surrounding landscape and other constructions.
I do both and believe they both carry great power ✨ Feng Shui may seem contradictory with so much conflicting information online, but every practitioner has their own methods, usually in line with however they were educated. I was trained under the Compass school, which works for me and my practice. I find it easier to understand and apply when compass directions never change.
@@JulieKhuu yes - if you're trying to apply 'remedies' it's a terrible feeling to be possibly doing things in the opposite direction - I've always swapped for southern hemisphere but two masters don't and I am trying to come to terms with Sun/Fire not facing south here... thank you.
Cactus except for when its cooked, lives outdoors and the prickly pear margaritas are to die for! But I would't geown one indoors (the nopales paddles are dangerous but they are good for you). I had a bad experience. Do you know cactus can attack you? I was living in a cabin in San Francisco that used to belong to the Believe It Or Not guy (suddenly can't remember his name). There were windows down the whole west side of the house so you could see pratically the whole Cityfrom the hill. It was really cool but my roomate had a thing about cactus no doubt about it. I was sitting nice and cozy in a chair reading with my back to the window when suddenly ferocious needles that felt like cats' claws fell into and embedded themselves in my scalp. I did think it was the cat at first. It was horrible. Or right Robert Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Thank you for your videos.
@juliekhuuHi Julie, I love all your videos.. it’s informative and very well presented.. please keep doing more videos that are feng shui related. What do you think about Schefflera plant or umbrella plant? Looking forward to hearing from you xx

Julie I don’t know why but for some reason your videos have not been popping up on RUclips. I’m obviously subscriber and I’m supposed to be notified of your new videos. Just curious why that would happen. I hope you’re doing well. Take care.♥️
Oh no Debbie! I wonder if it’s your settings? On your phone, you would have to turn on notifications from the RUclips app. On your desktop, the bell should suffice. Happy to hear from you! 💗🪴
If you love it, keep it! These are merely Feng Shui tips as a guide. I find that nurturing plants provides all the powerful chi you need for your home, regardless of what Feng Shui thinks 😅
Yes love those, Feng Shui does too. I’ll add these to the next roundup- they’re just not common, but totally on board with the types of leaves FS loves 😍
There are other commenters here saying that monstera brings them good luck and Julie has said to them that if you love it, that is a good thing. Feng Shui seems to be about symbolism so if you love monstera don’t turn to hating it. That would be sad. I love them but haven’t had any indoor plants for years. Might change that.
I find most brown thumbs come from lack of knowledge. There are a lot of websites that talk about the care of different plants. Depending on the plant you want or the plant you already have look them up and read About their care carefully. Some plants have zones they do best in and the zones are defined also. There's really no mystery, it just takes your time to find out what your plant needs. Many people use their calendar that's on the fridge or wall to mark the plant schedule of waterings and so on. I wish you the best of luck. My father is a horticulturist and a scientist and he only got his knowledge through the time he spent studying and learning through practice. Anyone can do it!
I read you shouldn't water your plants on a set schedule. Check their soil first by sticking your finger in the dirt. If the topsoil is dry (about the first inch down) then the plant is thirsty. It does take time & getting to know your plant's likes & dislikes. I visited lots of websites recently for instructions on repotting and noticed instructions differed between sites, so sometimes you have to research until you can find a consensus. The pothos is a good plant to start with 🙂
Absolutely, Feng Shui loves faux varieties with the same tips. Rounded leaves, no spikes aimed towards you, no thorns, looks as real as possible (not cheap, plasticky 💐)
How did you do on today’s quiz? 😄Please keep in mind that Feng Shui is all about symbolism and energy. If you have a plant that you love and want to decorate with, go for it! 🪴 It’s your home, your vibe- you will give your plants power to nourish your home and well-being 💚

Same, the moment I brought in my first monstera it made my house feel like a home. It brings me so much joy, my favorite plant from my collection.
Snake plant (pointy leaves) but Feng Shui says avoid pointy arrow leaves. Confusing.

Okay.
Leaves point up, not towards you 👍
@@JulieKhuu that too ☺️🙃
I recently bought a ficus bonsai tree, in my East window, it's very cute. You've given me ideas for climbing indoor plants 👀

Plants are a huge asset to Feng Shui! There’s so much more to present, can’t wait 🪴🤗
How about Chinese bamboo Julie? 15:59
Chinese bamboo is another great indoor plant to have in your home, yes 👏🏻
That’s also a miniature or dwarf version of bamboo plants???!!!
Cover your soil with small aquarium rocks or small rocks to prevent bugs from getting into the soil, this will prevent gnat issues.
I have a “Get rid of gnats for good” video up on the channel now for more tips 😉
Wow Julie dear, thanks for the tips, I will need to adjust my plant choices some, living in Florida offers such nice, rounded plants. I especially love the twisted trunk of the money tree.
That twisted trunk is just so unique! I need to watch more YT videos for better care though! I hear the trunk can get super thick = better Chi! 👏🏻
Hi Julie! Is there a way to make cacti more acceptable? Such as placing them into a glass globe hanger?
What about Chinese money tree, I think it was supposed to be in the list as it has rounded coin leaves
I'm in Jamaica how can I get the money tree?
What about NorfolkPine? A lot of people buy it for xmas. It is a bit prickly.

Is it ok to have any plant in yard and garden ? Is it just inside you have to consider plants good or bad luck ?
Fiddle fif leaf, rubber tree, birds of paradise, snake plant check!! How about zz plant though?
How about the aglaonema plants all varieties , good or bad? For outdoor plant or. Indoor?
Julie, what is the name of the plant behind you? It looks beautiful
What about orchids? They are pet friendly but good or bad?

What about the pandan plant? It has spiky leaves but provides a good, vanilla-like scent to the house

I’m guessing because the snake plant’s pointy leaves point upwards and not at you, it makes it ok.

Cactus bad fung shui
You contradict yourself. Don’t get plants with pointed leaves. But almost all the plants you featured have pointed leaves. 👎🏻
Your money trees look like rubber plant
I only have one of each and they couldn’t be more different than one another 😆
I'm surprised the pilea peperomioides did not make the list. Easy to care for, and looks like coins 🪙. Great video as always!
Yes love those, Feng Shui does too. I’ll add these to the next roundup- they’re just not common, but totally on board with the types of leaves FS loves 😍
Omg. I really love love love Monstera Deliciosa. The more holes the more I love it 🥲 so sad to know it is bad fengshui.
I have absolutely no green thumb, can faux plants work as well
I find most brown thumbs come from lack of knowledge.
@JulieKhuu that's fantastic, thank you so much for replying 😊
