They should really bring back the rampage contact effect for witch elves. It really defined them as a unit, making them tactical and unique. I think it was a pretty ridiculous change
I mean everyone bitched about rampage in general so I can see why.
I think they said the reason for changing that was to make them more lore accurate, as less support unit and more damage dealers themselves. Witch Elves seem to still have a useful niche thankfully, but I agree that removing rampage from the Dark Elves' toolkit feels awful. Maybe they can add it to the hero version that no one ever sees, and let that fulfill the old role?🤔
They didn't do it in tabletop, shouldn't do it in total war either. I don't mind an RoR have a one off cool ability like that though.
@@rjstram I like the idea of an activated rampage contact on a RoR (or the Exalted Daemonette RoR), but having it as a permanent contact effect after the change to make rampage permanent does seem like an extra issue as well.

Doomfire Warlocks have 40% phys res and a tiny HP pool. They are practically ghost units and should never ever be brought against heavy magical attack factions like daemons.

I'll expain why the Rampage Contact effect was taken away. Because the rework to the effect made it far more powerful. Before the rework, a unit being inflicted with rampage would also have to suffer damage before the controlling player loses control over it. Now, if something inflicts rampage, the controlling player will lose control over it until the source of the rampage is gone.

2:42 I don't know if it's related, but to be short (no Dawi pun pls don't begrudge me) their rampage may have caused other unintentional effects introduced with the newest DLC.
In the Gotrek/Felix battle, Gotrek kept losing huge chunks of HP, when my Elspeth cannons were moving, not even firing. He was fighting (only) Witch Elves, did not receive rampage, however he did have an effect "monstrous impact" as if the cannons had shot at him (which it had not). Around the same time he lost ton of life in an instance, out of nowhere.
Like if Rampage! coupled with some other traits somehow triggered a cannon impact. But idk

I would love a Dark elf and Slaanesh DlC I love Slaanesh and it feels like CA definitely left them behind the most
it’s sad, sad, sad that CA has introduced so many patches that we are now basically on 5.1.3 (?) with no COST DECREASE for Slaanesh frontline units, a physical resist DECREASE instead of Increase for Mark of Slaanesh units (??!! what were they thinking 😫😔), and no general buffs for Slaanesh daemonic units (well, Daemonettes got small buffs a few patches ago). CA needs a major head check. Slaanesh units should see serious cost reductions across the board, if nothing else- especially low-and-mid tier cavalry and infantry!

I really hope they rethink Keepers of Secrets in the Slaanesh DLC; they're by far the least scary Greater Daemon (which is already a pretty underwhelming unit type) to go up against because they're just so squishy.
Hellebron can mess me up any day.
gaze of khaine should be buffed, it brings little trade-off for the rampage compared to generic AoE buffs

I actually think that Slaanesh has the best Soulgrinder from all the monogod factions. Highest weapon strenghts, magical attacks, 25 anti-large bonus, loads of AP, and not as squishy as most of the Slaneeshi roster...
tzeentch soulgrinder is the best for sure right now. if you haven't tried it since the patch give it a shot, its good vs all targets, infantry and cav especially. the projectile splits like some other magic missiles, Gaze of Nagash for example. will showcase it soon
Elves not taking a single dark shard is weird, its like their best unit
i dont think they are a common pick against Slaanesh. very difficult to defend your backline against Slaanesh, and Slaanesh has low armor values on most of their units, so Darkshards AP isnt generally necessary. Slaanesh Single entities are fast enough to dodge archer volleys pretty consistently too. lot of reasons not to bring them here
@@milkandcookiesTW true I guess he brought the scourgerunner for the anti large range. Still, felt like he was lacking tools to deal with big boy SE’s, cold one knights maybe? Expensive though…

It's a shame to see such generic slaneesh armies. In my opinion what set Slaanesh apart were the awesome chariots lawnmowing everywhere, but I guess they're not meta enough
