Why? Because you say so ? Or because many other people say so ? Or because your investment into the movie in form of money and time would have been wasted?
Oscars don't represent any kind of quality anymore. It's irrelevant. I think for Nolan and actors more important is how the audience perceives the movie. At least i hope so. They already get the recognition.. kind of that even awards are not able to compensate.
if he really thought that way, do you really think that he would ever have someone on their show? anyone who hosts a radio show does have their own egotistical angle. that is why they have a show and you don't.
I'm very much looking forward to this film. My grandfather was a POW in Japan when the bombs were dropped. It was the dropping of these bombs that freed my grandfather and the other POW's. War is horrific and gruesome. The more I learn about this era of time the more I realize how incredibly difficult and nuanced these events were. I feel like this movie is a reminder of what can happen when we unleash an unknown into the world - much like what is happening now with AI.
Why is everyone crapping on the interviewer? He asked a very nuanced, complex question instead of a basic, cookie cutter question and this is only one clip from an entire interview. If you’ve seen his interview with James Franco, he very much keeps quiet and lets his guest talk and reflect.
I think maybe they should post longer clips if the guest (whom people are here to see talk) only talks for half of a 3 minute video. There was nothing wrong with the question, just a bad decision to post such a short clip if the question takes up so much of it.
I hope Cillian never does an interview for SiriusXM again. The interviewer seems to forget his guest and his reflections are the whole point of the interview. Ridiculous.
I saw Oppenheimer in IMAX opening weekend. It is a masterpiece and will be a front runner for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards at next year’s Oscar’s but I heard there will be stiff competition from DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Joaquin Phoenix’s Napoleon for all those awards too.😂
I don't know if Oppenheimer was naïve or just under immense pressure. He knew the destruction it would cause. In fact, it was even believed that the atomic bomb might destroy the earth's atmosphere.
I must admit Cillian's success as Oppenheimer ,,,my two kids, 15 and 13 enjoyed of watching movie! Dr Oppenheimer was actually responsible inclusively at the same time of the death of Japanese people and saving number of many human lives as Japan surrendered without conditions. It would have been better for us to drop the bombs off the shorelines of Japan to cause tsunami rather than directly onto people in both cities!
I say I could judge him from the fact of history.. He made the bomb, not in it's own private lab, not as a secret, but in the hands of whoever.. And it was used. I don't think he was that naiv to I'm think it wouldn't. He was inteligent, a thinker... As only one like that could invent, great big things and he was working with all king of characters... So he decided it's worth the risk, or even that of course it shoube used, maybe he hoped it would be on Germany, so the only surprise was the locations it was dropped. For however a great movie this can be, for the director, the actors ❤all, even the story... I think it's not OK to make that man a great man, it's not about how smart or ingenious or powerful you are, it's about what you do with that. Also it's a risk to put on the screen and give a platform to that kind of actions these days, when polarization and extreme thoughts and acts are on the rise...
"Also it's a risk to put on the screen and give a platform to that kind of actions these days, when polarization and extreme thoughts and acts are on the rise..." That's not part of Nolan or Cillian or anyone. Cinema could educate, but if they, these simple minded individuals are not capable of making their own research or try to be intellectual about it. It's their loss, we can not act like everyone is a child that need turtoring, we need to engange like fellow humans. Disengaging hostilities and listen to them to help them get out or help them to have a nuanced view. Stopping them radicalizing themselves. Also, the movie quite well portrays the dilemma the US, heck, the whole world had. You either kill thousands of civilians or you invade it and cause millions of dead people and years of ongoing war. There's even a possibility that the Japanese would continue fighting after the two bombs and war delcarance of the Soviet Union. They tried to stage a coupe against Hirohito because he wanted to surrender. If the coupe had succeded, maybe the US would have had to start an invasion or even worse, drop more bombs... I am not trying to defend the bombs, but it is hard to find one solution, one soothing answer (from a historical POV, not Oppenheimer's).
@@artofsam they didn't even have to use these bombs. But they just wanted to send a message. If they spend this much effort, time and money on a peaceful solution. Maybe they will even come up with formula for peace. But it is so much easier to destroy than to build
If Murphy and Nolan dont get Oscar's for Oppenheimer, there's is seriously something wrong on Hollywood.
This film is a MASTERPIECE

That’s insane
thank you, you're a legend
This is one of the longest questions I've seen in an interview.
The interviewer likes the sound of his own voice
Dead right, first half of the video is just him non stop talking, ask short insightful questions that setup the guest to elaborate
100% He thinks it’s all,about him!
I was thinking, “man is he ever going to let his guest talk?”

Damn half of the interview all cillian said was “yeah” 😭
Lmao
I kinda was happy with the strike that it ended the press tour Cillian is forced to do 😂. let him rest.

I refuse to believe Oppenheimer was "naive".
Oppenheimer was a narcissist.
