Just wanted to write quick and say thank you for not having an obnoxiously loud channel intro, like so many others seem to. Oh, and thanks for the video too!
@Ldoc1996 There are three things to come to mind. 1. You have turned off the LED blink function This might be true if the LED never come on when you use the camera You would see BLF (LED blinking OFF) on the LCD in the setting menu. Instead of BLO (LED blinking ON) 2. The USB Port on the computer is not powder (this would not be likely if it is a newer computer) You can test this by plugging it in to a wall adapter and seeing if the LED comes on
It is tricky if they have the foam top. The best thing that I can think of is using a tripod mount, drilling a hole through the board and then attaching it with a bolt and washer on the bottom of the board. I am working on a video of this I will be up in a few months.
@SuperGoProHD That is I good idea I will put it on my list of video to make. One thing I would like to say right now is if you are planning to mount on the outside of a car tie the camera on.
@Ldoc1996 3. The Battery in the GoPro might be fully charged (if not charging no LED) The test for this would be to use the camera a bit and then plug it in again and see if anything has changed Let me know if it is one of these. if it is not I think that you might want to get in contacted with GoPro support and see if they can help.
i bought a grab bag of mounts for mine. i used the leash from that and combined it with the leash for my snowboard. I did have it fall off, but the leash held it, and it was fine. i recommend doing this/ i takes less than 3 minutes and it could save $300
Use the gopro suction mount. We have used them on various racing cars on track. we had 3 Gopros using the suction mounts on a Lamborgini and a Mercedes SLS around the Nurburgring Germany at up to 185mph and they never moved. if you are a bit nervous just add a bit of gaffa tape to the mix. Oh and always worth adding a tether too. We had it on the front of bonnet and also really low on the splitter.
Can't say that I have tried. I have used the suction cup mount on the front of the car and it has never come off. If you try it make sure that you tie it on to something. Check out a video "Best Spots to Mount a GoPro on a Car: GoPro Mounting Tips & Tricks"
Thanks for this vid, and indeed channel!! I get so apprehensive about doing fiddly things that are hard to undo and this just put me at ease and got it right first time!! Tyvm :D
@OutdoorMaster123 I would think that you could. However I do think that at some point it would fail. I have tried the non-surf mounts on skis and they seem to fall off pretty quick. If you try it make sure that you tie on the camera and let us know how it works. One last note GoPro makes Surf mounts or a reason.
no you can get them off. All that you have to do is heat them up a bit like with a hair drier and then peal them off. However, after that you will not be able to reuse them.
If you remove it, you will end up with the black mount and also the adhesive layer. The adhesive layer won't work again but the 3M adhesive layer is easy to get hold of. B&Q in England or Home Depot in America is bound to have it.
out of all the mounts available, which mount would you reccommend for a school ski trip? Thee helmet isn't mine so would i be able to re use the adhesive? or should i use a different one? thanks man niace video
I put it on mine and I fell once and it peeled the paint off my helmet. Would you recommend taking some sandpaper to remove any paint in the area so it goes directly onto the plastic of the helmet?
Ya I would recommend that since it already happened to you Rob Brown When I put mine on, I pressed it for a long time, and let it sit next to a furnace for awhile, it was rock solid after that. The adhesive likes the heat to set up.
you do not need to use acetone it is better to use rubbing alcohol it is safer and is just as good but you need to make sure the alcohol is almost done evaporating to get the best stick
I want to use it on my racing boat the curve adhesive mount, however, at one point I might want to take it off, will it destroy the paint on my boat? and how do I take it off, if I want to take it off? thanks
My mount fell off the morning I put it on because I stuck it on my traxxas that same morning and drove it in the rain. If I left it for 12-24 hours and if it weren't raining would it stay on?
Has anyone tried mounting the adhesive surfboard mount to wooden boat decks? I have a National Solo and am thinking this would be ideal for a bow mount.
Yesterday i plugged my HD Hero 960 into my usb port and the red led wasn't flashing to indicate that its charging yet i could still select usb and see all my files, do you know whats wrong?
If I twisted my mount in position because it wasn't straight when I initially put it on is that ok? Even if it's not a perfect fit on the helmet like you mentioned.
i wouldn't recommend mounting your gopro on your snowboard because the snowboard is meant to flex with the land is would break the gopro mount off and if your board is weak it could break it
i decided to mount my camera on my snowboard and jesus christ i almost lost the bastard, the adhesive got too cold and right when i did a tad jump before putting on my other binding, it flew off. thank god i wasnt going off the hills or anything.....so stupid
WARNING DO NOT use adhasive mounts on snowboard or ski it WiLL come off and its not cover by gopro warraty . it already happened to me. gopro said it must be mounted on a rigid surface.

Nearly 10 minutes to explain that is far toooooo long
@okkelvig The Adhesive Mounts are only good for one use. However it should stay stuck for a long long time

Thank you that was a gray video and it totally explains why my adhesive came off last time!!!

InfocusTV1 is it possible that would work on a 40mph RC car

Yea go for it
@Mirozenx Use the curved adhesive mount
thanks dude, appreciate your tips :)
@Tobbeturboneger OK the video is UP check it out it is "GoPro LCD BacPac Should You Have One: GoPro Mounting Tips & Tricks"

There is a video linked in the description of this video showing how you can replace the adhesive on the mounts. The GoPro mounts are not reusable.
out of all the mounts available, which mount would you reccommend for a school ski trip? Thee helmet isn't mine so would i be able to re use the adhesive? or should i use a different one? thanks man niace video
For metals acetone is the best. It evaporates incredibly fast, much better than alcohol or kerosene.
Yea that it probably the best courses of action
What do you recommend for skiing in offpist? Should i use surf mount with the string holder?
Nice videos :) please make one about the lcd backpack :D it would helped allot, because the other videos on youtube suck..
Thank you so much :D you are awsome :D
thanks for your reply ill try that
I put it on mine and I fell once and it peeled the paint off my helmet. Would you recommend taking some sandpaper to remove any paint in the area so it goes directly onto the plastic of the helmet?
Same happened to me. Good question.
Ya I would recommend that since it already happened to you Rob Brown
When I put mine on, I pressed it for a long time, and let it sit next to a furnace for awhile, it was rock solid after that. The adhesive likes the heat to set up.
does the regular adhesive on the non-surfing mounts work if you were mounting it on a sailboat or hobie cat where it would be exposed to water?
you do not need to use acetone it is better to use rubbing alcohol it is safer and is just as good but you need to make sure the alcohol is almost done evaporating to get the best stick
VERY IMPORTANT TO PUT ON IN ADVANCE. my hero 3 came off my first run snowboarding. Almost stolen
Are these things reusable? How do you maintain its stickiness? Will I have to buy more adhesive mounts after i use the ones i have?
I want to use it on my racing boat the curve adhesive mount, however, at one point I might want to take it off, will it destroy the paint on my boat? and how do I take it off, if I want to take it off?
thanks
How would you mount the GoPro to a ceiling? Or would you just use a tall tripod? Thanks.
I put my hero on my nieces snowboard and the mount stuck just fine but the eyelets on both the buckle and case broke which best buy covered.
@ThaReaIFake I do not think that I would trust then as much the second time
My mount fell off the morning I put it on because I stuck it on my traxxas that same morning and drove it in the rain. If I left it for 12-24 hours and if it weren't raining would it stay on?
I bought the go pro floaty back door so it wont sink if it falls off!

kyle what would i do for a boogie board vid???? please help me
Has anyone tried mounting the adhesive surfboard mount to wooden boat decks? I have a National Solo and am thinking this would be ideal for a bow mount.
I do not want to tell you yes or no because I do not know. I would think that you could but I do not know.
Try, but make a safe line so if it let's go it doesn't touch the ground and you can pull it up!
Yesterday i plugged my HD Hero 960 into my usb port and the red led wasn't flashing to indicate that its charging yet i could still select usb and see all my files, do you know whats wrong?
So once you stick these things on, they will not come off? Like theres no way you can take them off?
Yes it is acetone is total over kill and will melt a lot of plastics it is better not to use it.
PLEASE HELP ME CAN YOU PUT YOUR ADESIVE MOUNT ON LEATHER OR PLASTIC ONCE YOU PUT THE ADESIVE FOR HOW LONG WIILL IT STAY ON?
If I twisted my mount in position because it wasn't straight when I initially put it on is that ok? Even if it's not a perfect fit on the helmet like you mentioned.
Can you re-use these? Or is Can you only use it one time.
Do you need to use acetone on a ski helmet
sweet
do you need to wait 24 hours its ben like 6 and i want to use it
You sure could
would the suction mount work on skis?
Will it work on a bodyboard?
if i stick it to the bonnet of my car will it stay on? say at... 100k/hr or when i go 4x4ing?
ty i used epoxy lue adn it has stayed for bout 3 weeks lol
Actually, if u add the red sticker back on the adhesive, you can use it again
Ben Epstein how?
there is a problem with acetone, it takes off the paint!!
Don't drink it or smoke it lol, good tutorial thanks

If you stick it on a car would you be able to take it off without chipping the paint
what about bodyboards?
good watch :D
@erealpe13 what do i use on the helmet? thanks
@erealpe13 That SUCKS.
no
i wouldn't recommend mounting your gopro on your snowboard because the snowboard is meant to flex with the land is would break the gopro mount off and if your board is weak it could break it
Get a suction cup mount its not worth the risk
i decided to mount my camera on my snowboard and jesus christ i almost lost the bastard, the adhesive got too cold and right when i did a tad jump before putting on my other binding, it flew off. thank god i wasnt going off the hills or anything.....so stupid
it would not stick
YEAH ME TOO!!! IT CAME OF MY SNOWBOARD!!!! GOPRO SUCKS!!! NOW I HAVE A CONTOUR THAT IT IS A LOT BETTER!!!!!
well i was gunna smoke and drink my acetone but I won't since you advised me not to.
theres no way at all its as tough as platinum
So you can't reuse it that sucks!
OMG
You can tell it's a guide directed at Americans, cause he told us NOT to smoke Acetone, lol. Common sense didnt kick in.
WARNING DO NOT use adhasive mounts on snowboard or ski it WiLL come off and its not cover by gopro warraty . it already happened to me. gopro said it must be mounted on a rigid surface.
Thanks

You should NOT mount these on skis or snowboards because they flex to much
