Dude, thank you, this is the most needed video expose for the believer today. There couldn't be a more necessary question posed today than the title of this video. I came to this same realization with the help of God in the last 2 years. You hit the nail on the head with the Headship of Jesus being undermined by the pastor of today!
For anyone out there who desires to look more into the shocking truth of the current situation of today's church system and the origins of our Christian practices, I encourage you to read Pagan Christianity by Frank Viola.

Two of the favorite verses used to support authoritarian style of rulership within the modern "church" system are found in the Book of Hebrews Chapter 13 (verses 7 & 17). "Obey them that have the rule over you." However in Matthew 20:25-26, Jesus told his disciples to be servant leaders as opposed to the authoritarian flavor of rulership among the gentiles (the world). The verses in Hebrews should be interpreted through the lense of the verses in Matthew chapter 20 and 1 Peter 5:2-5 where it states "not lording over them" & "submit yourselves to one another and be clothed with humility." Whenever we see leaders who are being served more than they are serving, we should know this isn't the model Christ left for us. Great video!

The words are also different in the Greek. There is the word rule as in have absolute authority over someone, and then there is another word which essentially means to lead or to be set up or appointed over someone. Leading and ruling are two totally different things. There are no rulers in the New Testament as we are all brothers. There are a plurality of elders, but no rulers like the high priest in the OT. Our High Priest is Jesus!

hēgeomai is the word used in both of those verses in Hebrews, which is not the word for rule like in Matthew 20 and 1 Peter 5. The leaders in the OT were called rulers, however, in the New Testament they are called leaders. We have only One Ruler and His name is Jesus Christ!

Three words that have been mistranslated in the NT are "Submit" "Rule Over" and "obey". These mistranslations are subtle, but they are there and they give ammunition for authority hunger "pastors". In the words of Jesus "It shall not be so with you" when he told his disciples to NOT Lord it over your brothers in Christ. The church has not honored his words.

I also got a dream this year about the church how they wer going to allow lgbt agenda in there. Anyways this is how cool God is I all ready wanted to step out of this place because the message is always the same and there is no one ever going out to share the gospel. Yesterday I went to pick up a brother of mine who I had not seen in 7 years and as I was picking him up I continued to drive to find his house I seen he lives two streets down from this church I had been attending. And find out he’s going to start a small house church in his home to help disciple people. Also your right about how they take from the children asking for money in there classes they did do that various times I was working there and was wondering why because children that little should not be carrying cash. And at first I was sad about leaving because I had build up relationships with the little ones but the Lord placed it on my heart that it’s the parents job to train up the child not just them going to listen to some man an have people babysit there kids.

I've not become aware until very recent I'm not alone in what the Holy Spirit is revealing about all this religiousness. I'm seeking a gathering in a home to join together to serve and worship together. There is a huge movement of Christ followers coming out of tgese churches full of deception and forming small home groups. Many years ago the Holy Spirit revealed to me in the near future the true church, followers of Jesus, will start meeting again in homes and from there will go underground just as in many other Nations do today.

I once heard Paul Washer say that we are NOT victims of these charlatans but that God intentionally has raised them up to separate the wheat from the chaff! Think about it, like magnets these people who PREACH prosperity and personal gain ATTRACT those people who DESIRE prosperity and personal gain! And those people who DESIRE purity and intimacy with the Lord will be drawn to those people who preach such.
Now I do believe in prosperity but not the kind preached from the pulpits today. Jesus ALWAYS had enough for the NEED of the moment, not indulgence!
For instance, when a disciple came to Jesus and needed money for the temple tax He sent the disciple fishing and told him he would find a coin in the mouth of the fish! Now that’s prosperity! But only for the need of the moment.
Jesus fed 5000 with a couple fish and several loaves of bread….prosperity in the moment of need!
When Jesus needed a donkey to ride into Jerusalem or a room for a final meal with His disciples He had total prosperity for the need of the moment.
Jesus fed the masses, modern pastors feed off the masses.

@@abideintheWord In light of Matthew 23:8-12, where Jesus explicitly commands against using titles like "Rabbi" or any designation that elevates one believer over another, the title "Pastor" similarly violates this instruction by creating a hierarchy within the Church. Jesus teaches that all believers are equal, with God as their Father and Christ as their only Teacher.
The term "Bastard," though harsh, may more accurately reflect the disobedience inherent in going against Jesus’ command against titles. It underscores the reality of acting outside of God’s will, rejecting His instruction for humility and equality. Rather than promoting a sense of authority, "Bastard" serves as a reminder of the spiritual consequences of defying Jesus' clear directive to reject titles that foster pride and division within the Church.

I agree up to a point. If I might offer a suggestion; perhaps a bit less on the problem and at least some content regarding the practical solution. An excellent resource for this would be the book BIBLICAL ELDERSHIP by Alexander Strauch. From my perspective, it is not disobedience or sin to compensate someone for their labor or to own a building to meet in, provided it is established without using debt. The early church pooled their resources to insure that every members needs were met. If a body of believers decides pool their resources to have a facility to meet in and/or offer Christian education like a Christian school, should we condemn them? If an elder devotes full-time to study, exegete and teach God's Word and the church provides him some modest form of income, does this oppose what the Bible teaches? I do not think so. Certainly Paul refused to receive compensation [2 Thess 3) and said "follow my example", and that would be an ideal to aspire to. However, there is an exponential difference between helping to meet basic needs and paying a guy 6 figures because he is the 'star' of the show, or holds some man-contrived lofty title. Again, just my opinion.

I think we do a great disservice to God and the saints when we describe God's people as the church. Even though this word has become synonymous with the body of Christ in our day and age, this is not an accurate translation of the word. This is where are problems started. Even history bears out that when Constantine started to build these places he also appointed people to rule over them.
Of course the word Jesus actually uses is ekklesia- which means a called out assembly of people. It is not a place and cannot be a place despite how many people claim it to be so.
In your own words herein you equated church with ekklesia and this is simply not so. The church is a place, it is a denomination and it has a hierarchy. One is not equal to another and in fact these words are polar opposites. I get it, it's easy to do- just as modern day "pastors" claim the church as the body of Christ all the while advertising the building with a church sign out front. It's such hypocrisy.
I challenge you to stop using the word church altogether. This word has done more damage to the body of Christ and God's true intentions upon this earth than any other thing. We need to cut this word out- and rid it entirely from our vocabulary as Christians. This is where we have to start- by using God's vocabulary as He does. Either assembly or congregation are far more accurate translations of ekklesia.
I like your points and I agree for the most part. We are the recipients our own neglect and errors. Sadly, not only have we suffered as God's people, the world's people suffer as well because of our use of the word church.
What does the average person think the church is? Just ask them. They believe exactly what we as Christians have wrongly taught them to believe it is- an it, a special place we people go to worship or seek God. That is all the proof anyone needs to realize our need to rid ourselves of this horrendous word. Hundreds of years of "church" failure and yet we keep using this unscriptural and inaccurate word!
Jesus never told anyone to build anything for Him. He said, "I will build My ekklesia." It's long overdue that we seek God in discovering just what this actually means to us as Christians who seek to honor God.
Thank you for standing up to and for the truth. I've left "church" near 30 years ago and I'm finally seeing numbers of people speaking about these things as I have for years. I'm finally hopeful again that "church" might finally come to an end so that God's people can live in the truth Jesus purchased for them.

      @abideintheWord  25 дней назад

@@michaelferguson167 yeah, I’ve wanted to stop using the word church but it’s just not very easy. It’s easier to use a word everyone understands, but I agree. For example, in one of my recent videos on John Hagee, I talked about my trip to his “church”. If I talked about my trip to his congregation, people may not readily understand what I’m talking about. People get his “church” is the building. However, I do wish the word didn’t exist and we could all just use the correct word like congregation. It’s not an ideal world though. God bless!

    • @michaelferguson167
      @michaelferguson167 24 дня назад

@@abideintheWord Yes, it's difficult. But it isn't necessary to use a singular word but a phrase would do.
In the Hague situation I would have said something along these lines:
"When I went to visit the fellowship where John Hagee calls himself the pastor"
Saying this would be speaking the truth and leaving room for others to question these things:
      1. Is he really a pastor or their pastor?
      2. Is what they are doing really fellowship according to the Bible?
      3. Is his claim to be "their pastor" even scriptural?
...and of course the opportunity to tell others why you didn't use the word church when others ask.
Again, I'm not telling you what to do. But removing this word from our vocabulary as Christians would benefit us and unbelievers greatly- not to mention honor God. That is my intention- to do everything I can to speak and live the truth as much as possible and to encourage others to do the same.
Again, thank you for considering and speaking about many of the religious falsehoods in relation to today's modern "pastors." The more these things are revealed, the better chance we have in conforming our lives to actual Biblical truths.

It’s simply a gifting that an elder of the church has, similar to apostle, prophet, evangelist, teacher. What we DON’T see anywhere is the gift of pastor meaning a CEO type of leadership position. No, there is nothing of the sort in the New Testament. If anything we see the apostles and prophets being first in the Bible, not pastors. And even then we don’t see the apostles and prophets lording over the flock taking from them anything beyond what was absolutely NECESSARY for survival. Paul said he felt like he was robbing other churches by taking money from to minister to another church, not even to pay for his mortgage! God bless.

I really liked this video. Can I contact you by email? I had some theological questions about the video you did on pastor's salaries. I'm 90% in agreement but would like some clarification. I haven't gotten to the end yet, because I had something come up. But how do you spend your money giving to the poor? I don't want to just give them cash, because so many where I am are on drugs.

I definately wouldn’t advise giving people money who are on drugs. I don’t think that’s wise. Unless the Spirit leads you to of course. The Bible talks about giving money to Christians first, and those who are serious about God and active in service towards the saints.
What’s your question on salaries? I would watch the video first before asking me any questions on it as they might be answered.

I think you had it more right, when you talked about medical surgery. I would probably translate it as "necessities". So you're right. most of these pastors want way more than just their necessities. I would like to ask my questions offline though and talk with you. I used your website to contact you yesterday. Thanks for your response.

am "I" the law. is that biblical to be serving law. when we have gospel that does not mention law. at all. or your works in as in ear-ning theory. you never have to pay anything for a free gift, and the gift stays free as God's owned. so dont give yourself as slaves of people, yep even if law says, against the gospel, for you to do something by some false judgement reason.

because the early church was quite simply, an assembly of people. they weren't called christians, because christianity is Roman made and came to be in order to make paganism more palatable to those who knew of Maschiach. turn away from All manmade religion, including christianity (He was never called 'Christ', that's yet another Greek misinterpretation - or, it was purposefully done to lead christians to a false figure called 'Christ'). Maschiach never came to make a 'new religion' to 'replace the old'. He came for the lost sheep of Israel, and then the good news was allowed to be preached to 'all nations' aka Gentilles. Maschiach did Not come to make a completely new religion, which then caused further division because it fractioned into hundreds of different denominations. There is One Way, One Truth and One Chosen Nation. the rest of us are grafted in if we believe and are obedient to the Most High. with love and respect

He said to them, But whom say you that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, 👉You are the Christ👈, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my Father which is in heaven.

      Acts 11
19Now they which were scattered abroad on the persecution that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but to the Jews only. 20And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spoke to the Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus. 21And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned to the Lord. 22Then tidings of these things came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. 23Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would hold to the Lord. 24For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added to the Lord. 25Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: 26And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. 👉And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.👈

Also, 'they were first called Christian's in antioch'...it does not say they called themselves christians. It was a label given to them by those from antioch...look at the pagan roots of antioch at that time. It was meant as an insult to the followers of Maschiach, who were called The Way (as Sh'aul persecuted those who were called The Way, believers in Maschaich). As I said, Maschiach did not come to make another brand new universal religion...that is satan's handiwork. Ahain, i say this with respect and out of love. Shalom
