Do you know how deep the roots are or how wide they can get at maturity? I wanted some along the side of my property line but noticed a very shallow cable line just underneath my grass and running up and down my yard. Thank you

That's a tough one. Since it's that big the wood may or may not regenerate when cut back heavily. Two things seem to drive the regrowth. The most important one is light, but not too intense. The area you want to regrow needs good light to stimulate the growth. Also, it needs to be warm, now is good. Then, you want to feed and water. I would use a slow release lawn food broadcast over the entire root zone evenly. The new growth needs the nitrogen and this will speed it up. Water in the fert.

    Hi,
Does the English Laurel grown under full shade? Thanks!

What is pruning? Is trimming the same as pruning? If pruning is taking pruning scissors and clipping each steam/branch individually, that is not feasible for something of that size.

Thanks for the video, I could use some good advice. I have a laurel hedge that has been allowed to become over grown and is probably about 12 feet high. If I try to trim this down to a practical size that fits the side of the house, I would have to trim it way back past the folage. If I choose to do this, how long should I expect it to be before it shows leaves again as the branches are vary thick. I could use some good advice before I start cutting. Thankyou in advance.
