Rad played in our local small-town theater when it came out. My buddy and I were the only two people in the theater when we saw it. We were blown away! We had only ever seen that stuff in magazines; one photo, or a sequence of stills. I was so excited when I got my hands on a VHS copy. I would wait for my parents to go to sleep and push the couch and coffee table out of the way so I could watch RL in slo-mo and practice lawnmowers in the living room. Good thing we had dark brown carpet to hide the tire marks!
I really wish it was possible to watch videos like this 30 years ago. BMXTrix website had some stuff around 2000, but I just watched the rock walk video yesterday, and FINALLY got it.
My friend Brent (was at the interview party) was just talking about this move. You are correct. It will kill your foot/ankle. I’m going to try putting my toes on the frame like you did. Great move. Great video!
Great tip to put foot on frame. I was having the hardest time and my foot was killing on Judy the peg. Tried your tip and boom landed it from then on. Thanks RL.
@@rolandweinberg that photo of me is me in the makeup. i have many videos of me with kiss. backstage and at meet and greets etc. me dressed up like kiss with kiss etc. thanks jim bob. you a kiss fan too?
So cool to see you ride. This was first "trick" I learned (other than wheelies), thanks for the refresher. Now to apply it to my mountain bike without bending my wheel ;) Thanks for these!
Yay R.L. Hey man, you should come out to Huntington Beach one Tuesday and hang out man. Aparijo is out there just about every week, sometimes Eddie Fiola as well when his schedule allows plus alot of old school BMX fans brotha. We would love to see ya out there, they meet across from the Hyatt Regency just past the pedestrian bridge out there every Tuesday at around 2pm. #Espharissa on facebook BMX Freestyle 1980-1990, BMX Museum, Redline Bikes, Haro Bikes, SE Bikes...
LoLz ! ! !... I've sent RL a message telling him the same thing, We always have a good time hangin' out, now days We're just hangin out in the parking lot where We have a lot of space to ride but We don't know when We'll be going back to our normal spot by the Pier...
Thank you guys this is awesome! I am loving the How-to's. I agree with you, these are hard moves to re-learn specially at my age and weight. But I am enjoying the journey because I love doing this stuff. I remember also guys doing there with their foot on the seat and I remember you used to do them to your left too with out twisting the bars. Thanks again for doing this for us! See you guys on the Saturday live chat.
Just want to know what kind of camera You're using... If You clean the Lens, the Lens of the sensor and Keep it on Auto Focus (with the Anti Shake on) You'll have way better footage... That out of focus was starting to give Me a headache... Also with editing, You should do a close up of where to Place/plant Your foot on the peg, frame and tier and edit that in as RL is speaking. I know You're New to this but I am just trying to help make this a better video for those whom are starting out or getting back into this Lifestyle of BMX... Keep up the cool work guys...
Not only are RL’s moves dialed in, but his garage is dialed in too👊🏻
Thank you Joe I do love my Garage!

Besides the boomerang, the lawnmower was one of my staple moves.
Definitely one of the first (moves) we learned BITD.
I remember doing variations with the foot on the seat, and also the can/can.
This helped me to learn the Lawnmower for the first time. It‘s sad that there is no new content on the channel
I was never a good rider, but the lawnmower was one that always felt good to do. Great to see you riding again!
Great video. Big fan here. Can you do a tutorial Cherrypicker and Miami Hoper? Thank you!
Thank you and yes i am still working on relearning those tricks but once I have them down I will definitely do a how to on them.
Thank you for yet another homework assignment. School is never out with professor Osborn
Haven't even thought of pulling one, you got me trying it again.
