Aliex I love your videos and I'm a Big fan of the Big Fish PDL 108. You should make a video on how people could load that on top of their vehicle? I see lots of videos of loading heavy kayaks on top of their cars and SUV but none of them have complex hull designs like the 108.
Hmm, my Bite FD has same 35in deck and is about 12lbs lighter empty. Although it is about $500 more, I do like Jackson's drive better than anything out there since I spend time in skinny water. I can run that yak through 10 inches of water at some points. The drive also bumps back into the hull if you hit bottom or a log which is a huge bonus. I've had that thing up to 5mph with some work lol.
Allright now this is a yak that is better fitted for my style. Still a on the heavy side but definitely added to my list of options for my one day future pedal kayak 😂

I fish in a very big river by drifting close to the shore structure either from the mainland or from islands so you deal with all the big open water problems (wind, long distances) and all the small river problems (handling in current, paddling against current, dealing with underwater and overwater structure like trees and rocks, shallow water, sand banks, etc) so an optimal kayak needs very specific features

So true, I didn't know I even wanted one until summer last year when I was introduced to them. My gf and I discovered that kayaking was enjoyable and a good activity with camping. Regular kayaks were pushed aside when I learned about fishing kayaks, then pedal drive, then yada yada yada... I researched all winter (living in the midwest) only to emerge to a complete nationwide shortage. Pah!
@@rfphill Old Town and Hoble are premium brands with the warranty to match. But there are less expensive options out there that may be available right now. Try looking around. The Riot and Sea Stream brands are less expensive and features my not be as included but may be available. As always you make ur choice and put down ur money.
@@AliexFolgueira I am actually debating getting one. My Catch 110 HD II is only 70 pounds but I could use an easier load/unload experience. I just have to... 1.) Have a hitch put on my Acadia 2.) Purchase a trailer 3.) Rent somewhere to store it due to my apartment not allowing trailers. So it life.
I like the fact they got a lighter version but I love my 108. Once you figure out how to handle the weight it's awesome. I still say it is the MOST stable kayak on the water....period.
Here in Connecticut many store are having the same issue. The stores have sold a lot of kayaks but the suppliers are having a hard time catching up. It’s a good thing Kayak fishing is gaining popularity 🎣

No lake fishing. We are looking into 10 foot 6 kayaks. Mostly because of storage and putting it on top of our car. I like your channel but I wish you'd stop plugging this guy's shop. I went to buy a big fish based on your older videos and he told me they are always returned and they are a problem then tried to upsell me to stuff way out of the budget I had set. I told him I was willing to wait but it seems like anything I wanted outside of his recommendations he wasn't interested in helping me with.
Maybe at the time they were returned? They had issues with the rudder cables my didn’t have such issues but I read plenty of comments from people saying so

Checkout the Riot Maco 10 and 12 footers. They go for about $1000 to $1299. Sea Stream also makes a budget kayak in that range with pedal drive.
