- I love sketching with pen & ink and occasionally I like to sketch architecture. I'd like to show you how to sketch simple architecture in pen & ink and the techniques I used to achieve this look. You don't need much and it only takes around 45-60 minutes for a sketch like this. Hope you enjoy the video! :)

Thanks for your soothing and inspiring words and for the lovely artwork.
No problem
Wow, I really love the look and character of this! Bravo!
Thank you :)
This would have been absolutely perfect for you to do the Charcoal/Pen&Ink. You should definitely try it and look at the difference. Love this❤
Yep for sure
thanks for reminding that it has to be fun and not stressfull really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really enjoy hearing you explain your process. I like the simplicity of using grey over color. The details really added a lot to explain the sketch. I definitely will try grey and leave the watercolors alone. Honestly I think that color can be distracting. Your eye can add the colors as you imagine them or wish them to be. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Adding color is fun too sometimes, I do both. Just depends on what I'm feeling but this one definitely looked great as is, to me. Hope it goes well!
dude i love this one the grey tones they absolutely make it pop i actually clicked initially to make sure it was grey and not my eyes blending the negative space hahaha im gonna start learning how to incorporate that into my own
Sounds awesome :)
The way you record each and every stroke of art without skipping or unlike speedy video editing is amazing Bro ... ❤
Than kyou , much appreciated! :)
Great job Brandon. Nice and loose, sketchy but not sloppy. Good art!
Than kyou :)
I read a book a while back, which name I do not remember, probably in my shelf somewhere, and the author stated something similar. Using pen and ink to just commit to the sketch without pressure. The book was a basic intro to ink sketching, covered some basics but overall stayed pretty simple. I've done some of this type of sketching. It's an interesting experience with it's own set of challenges to adapt to. Sometimes, less is more.
That drawing came out really cool.
I am so happy I discovered your channel and video. I think it will help me get to the next level. Right now I feel I draw with a lack of confidence because I mainly don’t know how to make it look sketchy but not sloppy like you said. This is an unbelievably helpful tutorial. Thanks!
That's great, I hope it goes well :)
Nice work I had such a natural for this when I was younger I’m considering picking it back up, thank you
Go for it, have fun :)
Really liked it. Made it look easy!
Thank you :)
Brendon it turned out pretty good ❤✌️
Thank you :)
Awesome😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the drawing I think the focal point ended up being the building on the left.
You're probably right due to the amount of contrast.
Another great video, Brandon. I remember doing a quick sketch of my local Chapel, wonky lines, and all. The thing is, it does give it character, and it wouldn't look right with straight lines. Most old buildings don't have perfect straight lines anyway. All the best, John
Very true! Glad you understand :) Thanks for sharing!
I loved seeing your process, it was wonderful and motivating.
The only thing that kept nagging my mind was that you put the horizon-line too high up.
Thank you for showing this process in bite-size chunks.
Glad to hear that. And there was a reason I put it a little higher up actually - I didn't want it to be directly in line with the bottom of the buildings, so I pushed it up a bit :)
@@SchaeferArt ah that kinda makes sense.
Could you please breakdown the work of E.H. Shepard in his illustrations of Winnie the Pooh ??? Those illustrations are simple, yet interesting and alive . How we can bring this magic in our drawings ???
Thank you so much !!!
Thanks for suggestion. I’ll consider it
