(200-250 hours respect) Thank you again, you are one of the coolest human beings. I really do enjoy learning and watching all your works. God bless you and your team.
Thanks so much man :) I really appreciate you liking this scene so much. I learned SO much doing a scene this large that I can definitely optimize it in the future to get ever better videos out in a smaller span of time. A lot of the credit goes to iMeshh. I have got pretty good at converting their models into Lumion, but at the end of the day they were the ones that gave me the original inspiration to take their Grand Room scene and put a new fresh coat of paint on it.
It was on and off, I could probably do it in 3 weeks if I was working only on it! We had a lot of work and renders for clients we had to do in the mean time. I am hoping to have more video like this :)
@@LuminousLabs thanks for reply in comments. ya its a dream to make your own project as per your choice and after completing you cant hold your excitement to show us your wonderful work. I can feel :D
These are all imported models, we build our scenes in blender using imeshh/poliigon/Dimensiva assets then we bring it into Lumion! This lets us change the materials and the position of the materials all we want!
Good work 😁 But I guess that's about as far as Lumion can take us with interiors. If they don't add something close to ray tracing in the next version, they're gonna lagg far behind the competition.
It's as far as I can take right now! I do think they need to do some fairly deep overhauls, however I am not expecting anything too big to come in Lumion 12 :(
@@ShomitSarkar Unreal is a lot more complicated to learn. Twinmotion on the other hand is a direct competitor here. Once they put hdri maps and ray tracing in there it's gonnna become a better choice. Cheaper too.
Great work guys! Some very nice materials shown throughout which really helped boost the overall atmosphere throughout the animation. Not looking forward to those render times though 😅
It wasn't horrible since we do have 2 3090s, so we could cut the render times right in half. We're always here to help once you get to that point with Crimson! Thanks a lot for the kind words! We will have to have another call soon.
This was actually only 1920x1080. I did do 60FPS though because it makes a huge difference in my opinion. The reason I didn't do 4K is it would have taken considerably longer but most people watching on their phones or tablets would not even have been able to tell. Thanks for checking out the video I hope you enjoyed it :D
Indeed worth the wait, materials look really good, the balance between gloss and roughness for the materials is really well done also the camera movement and darker areas between objects. If I were to lay any criticism against it I would say I would like to have seen a more sunny exterior with trees blowing majesticly in the wind and casting shadows on the building and ground, thats just my persoanl taste, I like those theatrics 😁. Besides the long render times what was the most challenging bits while getting things to look right?
Just making sure all of the materials were looking right! There are many, many things that Lumion could do to make setting up materials work much easier. I also had to constantly reimport sections of the interior because of missing faces or something like that. I was exporting as FBX which I think was a huge mistake. Lumion seems to handle DAE (Collada) much easier and it is faster. The only downside to DAE is you have to have all modifiers applied in Blender or they will not appear in Lumion, while FBX will do it for you. The import out of Lumion is like 5x faster with DAE though.
@@LuminousLabs Thats very interesting and useful information, I dont remember ever trying .DAE, I always default to FBX thinking its the best, I also get those geometry errors so I know how that goes. Once again great work on this project and thanks for sharing your experience.
Your quality of work is awesome marvellous. Very nice render. but that fountain make me sad because lumion does not have any good quality fountain effects. I had a client who want to a make screen fountain on roof top and I failed to made that scene. And i cant export Phoenix FD flowing fountain effect to lumion. No idea how can we do that.
There is someone who was able to make it by exporting particle settings but the price of those fountains are unbelievably high. I know what you mean though :( Lumion is so frequently used with fountains I feel it is an area that needs to be improved dramatically.
Beautiful work! Personally feel that its too dark and depressing. Not enough of contrast or dynamic lighting to be cool moody, just dark. If this is in the north hemisphere where its always cloudy and depressing, maybe that makes sense. Otherwise would like to see an a bright afternoon version 😉
That is a very good point, the original grand room was done by iMeshh, so I am assuming it was based on England's climate. I was trying to stay as true to the original as I could. If you want to see a picture of the one they started in Blender it is here: www.imeshh.com/product/grand-room-scene/
Yes! We did 60 fps at 5 stars with 1920 res. I figured the extra resolution probably wouldn't matter if it was going onto RUclips and it would have more than doubled the render time.
Just advanced move actually! If you set a beginning rotation and location, then move to a new location at the end and rotate it maybe 90 degrees or something you will have the same effect :D
@@LuminousLabs Well, I'm learning Blender. Luxcore and CyclesX seem to be the only ones integrated currently, but I want to use Corona. However, I don't wanna pay for C4D or 3dsmax just so i can use it.

Currently I would say this is the highest we can do for Lumion, but there is definitely a lot I have learned doing a project of this size. We are Archviz artists that are based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. We use Lumion and Blender currently for our jobs, but Unreal Engine is coming soon as well!
