I have built an MCP for the zibo 737 from a knowledge base of zero... it was great fun and well worth it.. used Hispa panels for facia plates
Simvim does not working anymore the owner keeps changing all the time, I gave up sticking to simvim, they changed everything after all my hard work I have done on my cockpit, so I'm decided dis disassemble my cockpit and selling the parts on Ebay 🤔

i've been having a very similar idea! i've been looking into all the bits but never bit the bullet, this is inspiring me to give it a go
can you control the G1000 buttons with keyboard presses?
I use those many of those encoders with the little circuit boards on my SimVim setup and they work perfectly fine without removing the board
