I can’t wait to try this! I really didn’t want to go out and buy everything needed for sublimation. All of the videos I’ve been watching, seems to say the same thing, that it’s a great alternative to sublimation.
Agree if you’re running a business sublimation would be much faster however not everyone has a business or wants to buy another printer so it’s a pretty good alternative.
just another person that wanted to tell you Thank you for this video !!! 🎉❤ You explained everything really clear and detailed, thanks for being awesome
Oh My Gosh! I thought I was watching myself. I had these very same issues thank you for figuring it out. The designs are just so beautiful. I love the fox
@@littlecraftnest i bought the fox design and will try it as soon as my DTV comes in. We have a brand new niece and I bought two packages of onesies to practice on. LOL. She’s too young to judge if i make mistakes but I’m sure they’ll turn out
I've seen multiple videos, when this came out, and the transfer tape version has been invariably terrible. I've just got some of this (1/2024), and I'm wondering if Siser has done anything to fix this problem. Have you used a newer version of the EasyColor DTV? Thanks! I appreciate how you explained which side to print on...another question I had.
There are many things you can use sublimation ink for however I strongly recommend having an inkjet printer as well for projects that don't require sublimation ink. The product I feature in this video is only for inkjet printers. Siser has another product called Easy Subli that is for Sublimation ink. I will attach my affiliate link below for this product. Good question. Yes the HTV I used in this video was Siser Easyweed. Yes technically you should press at a lower temperature but I ended up pressing with the same temperature as the DTV, as my press was already heated, and it worked great - no issues.
@@littlecraftnest Have been wondering if layering with Easyweed at the higher temp will cause it to shrink and/or melt. Will have to do some testing on my own as well. Good to see the results you were able to achieve. Thanks for the video.
I know this has been a while ago, but I just tried this recently. I did everything I was supposed to do snd it looked great to begin with but after washing it once in the way described, it's ruined the image and wrinkled it everywhere. Any tips or advice?
@Chris_Ray Most printable Iron-On material, even HTV, will wrinkle somewhat in the wash. Always best to wash inside out with cold water and no fabric softener. Shirts can be ironed inside out. It wrinkles because it’s material on top of material. If you wanted an image printed on a shirt that becomes part of the fabric you could do sublimation, which requires a printer with special sublimation ink.
I can't get the ink to dry, and not pit, I double checked to make sure I was printing on the correct side, but my colors come out very dull and won't dry... I've gone through about half of my Siser Easy color... I got it from a vender on Ebay so maybe i got a bad batch or a cheep Chinese knock off...lol
Oh no! I have not heard of that happening. See if you have a local supplier who sells it. If not here are my Amazon affiliate links. EasyColor DTV (US) amzn.to/3dLS7xN EasyColor DTV (CAN) amzn.to/3QZv8h6
There are some variable factors when deciding pressure setting such as how sharp your blade is and I feel that sometimes machines can slightly differ. You can always try with less pressure. Use your scrap pieces to try a test cut just cutting out a shape (no need to print first), to find the setting that works best for you.
Yes it does curl and does require patience when using the mask. If you're not using the mask heating the garment helps the curls fall out when lying the image on top.

Yes absolutely it’s a great alternative. Have fun trying it out.
It’s just that sublimation ink last longer than ink for a inkjet printer.
That would take too much time if you’re running a business.

Have you tried to wash it? Curious to see how it looks afterwards.
Not yet but I will test that! They claim it holds up for 20 washes before you notice any change (which is considered a garment lifetime).
Very informative!
Happy crafting!
I have watched a few videos with intercut designs they are putting an offset around the design so Cricut will cut around the small cuts.
That's a great idea.
Thank you! It was super useful Because I have easy press and I’m tempted to get the DTV!
You’re welcome!
How did it do after it was washed
If you warm the garment first you won't need the tape at all
I'm regretting filling my Epson printer with sublimation ink - Hoping the ink will work with this DTV!

@@littlecraftnest thank you !
Hi! So would I print this with a regular printer(not one used for sublimation)?
That is correct.
I know one girl had problems with the small things cutting out on her cricket she had to replace her blade to a 45゚ blade that may help Best of luck.
The regular Cricut blade is a 45 degree angle blade.
Was the HTV Siser Easyweed? Did you press that at a lower heat or the same as the DTV?

You can try pressing it again or iron inside out. Just make sure you lay parchment paper or a teflon sheet over top.
@littlecraftnest do you know how to avoid it? If i wanted gift a tshirt to someone I wouldn't want it doing that

I tried TTD on my printable vinyl and it didn’t work eek
That’s frustrating. Is it because there was too much static? Maybe dust it with a dryer sheet first.
I wonder if I used too much heat. I used my press and you used your mini.
That’s could be. Also if you are using a large heat press it doesn’t need to be pressed as long.
Did you use sublimation ink or regular printer ink on the designs
It’s regular ink jet printer ink - not sublimation.
regular ink
@@littlecraftnest i haven't try that material yet, but can you still use sublimation ink on easy color DTV?, thanks!
This product is meant for ink jet printers. Siser has another product for sublimation printers called EasySubli HTV
I use printable vinyl setting because it’s so paper thin it cuts too much.

Curls entirely too much
