- Taking a look at the 4070ti Strix OC and it's 1050 USD retail Msrp and how it lines up against cards that are similar in price, cheaper or as a direct upgrade from it's previous generation.

Excellent video, mate! My decision for a new GPU (upgrade from EVGA 3080) between your Strix 4070 Ti and the Sapphire Nitro 7900 XTX. The Sapphire XTX price has fallen to $999 with a $50 discount promo, so I jumped on it a couple days ago. I really wanted the 4090 Founders, but it's never in stock.
I was looking for comparacing strix 4090 & lower tier coolers, u are first i found who shows how differend they are gg
The overclocking headroom on the 4070ti is amazing. Watch Asus ROG overclocking video's, its weakness is the 192 bits
I find most 40 series cards to be able to get into 3000 range. Unless its a real dud.
@@JCustom Mine doesn't go 3000, but honestly i do not care. :) I've got 4090 tuf OC
@@JCustomyeah I was even able to push a 4060Ti to 2950 before it became severely unstable. Sadly the only thing that holds it back is the bus and ram. If this had a bigger bus and like 10-12GB of vram I’d dare to say it could approach 3070ti performance in game. Maybe even get close to 3080 performance.
To be honest you are the first person i love to hear his voice cause you are not only talk for talking you are inform us every word of you is information , thank you brother good luck
The last gen's heatsink was larger, because it is a far less efficient design. The new gen wastes less power to heat, therefore doesn't need as big of a heatsink.
Still the same situation right? Get the none OC if you can find it? I got the strix 4080 super for 1029 none OC version and i gauruntee i can push it as far as any other OC model. Same as last generation the OC vs none OC didnt matter at all was still just luck of the draw if i remember correclty.
Also I will be gaming mostly at 4k so I think I made the right choice with having the extra features.
Considering the inflation, I think $699 should be the maximum MSRP for 4070 Ti.
Here in Austria the Strix 4090 is almost €3000 so well over $3000. You can buy a Gainward GeForce RTX 4090 Phantom GS for €1790 so prices are total BS. The Strix 4070 ti is €1100 none of it makes any sense tbh
From what I know the Tuf 4080 and 4090 dont use the same cooler. They look the same, but the 4080 weights like 300-400g less and it doesnt have a vapor chamber. Anyways Asus went crazy with the Strix premium this generation. I always buy Strix, but this time I went with the Suprim X.
Same cooler. I have both in hand. Same goes for the strix. The 70ti gets a different cooler.
the 4070ti zotac extreme airo uses the 4090 and 4080 pcb and cooler
this thing overclocks easily over 3000 mhz and 12000+ memory
very fast gpu and its huge with very nice software and individual controllable rgb and controllable individual fans
this is awsum
I bought thr 4090 Strix OC a couple of months ago and the absolute size of the vapor chamber is something else
I paid only about $850 for this same card, definitely a great value!
it's only £998.99 in the uk but after looking at the exchange rate I think that might be worse since apparently £1000 is apparently $1235.33 according to my calculator, but to me it's a major upgrade from an rx580 2048sp i'm not rich by any stretch i've been saving since last year and I will have the money (with £50 borrowed from stepdad which will be payed out of food and drink money for the next 2 weeks after i'm done!) so I wanted to go as balls to the wall as I could without having to save for another year (the price gap between the 4070ti OC and 4080 is still quite large and I already postponed once cause I was originally planning to get a 3070ti but that plan got scrapped cause it wasn't good enough for my needs) I don't think price to performance matters when I'm gonna be going from 1080p in demanding games to 4k,
not stopping there though the gpu is gonna have a 13% bottleneck so I'm gonna be getting a helios case and next year i'll be getting a Ryzen 7700x and the am5 x670 wifi gaming motherboard and then some ddr5 6000mhz ram (32gb should be enough for now) and i'll upgrade later to get more out of star citizen I heard it can utilize 48gb of ram out of 64gb)
I am a content creator who recently has decided to more time and effort into their videos (alt channel out of respect I won't say the name without perimission) since i'm becoming more serious about it instead of just a hobby it means I need hardware to back it up and I want to get on the AV1 train for one as I also do streams on twitch(i'm taking a hiatus due to lack of success gonna wait for av1 on twitch which i'll prob start streaming 2k in the future) in the mean time it means I can do 4k videos with a lower bitrate which is very important to as I love my graphics and showcases, I also like pushing shader limits on minecraft, and playing early access games that are quite demanding!
also I wanna max out ESO & valheim respectively at 4k which i can't do on my current rig instead I got some settings turned down on ESO and I've been running Valheim on DX at 3200x1800 because for some reason some RX500 series gpu's are experiencing an issue where vulkan all of a sudden since last year is now performing worse than direct x which is really odd and I only found one other person they got an rx550 I think they said could of been 570 but yeah basically micro stutters and hitches that do not feel as smooth as it once did!
I hope they fix it for other people experiencing the same issue but it's about to not be my problem!
if I can run 3k res at nearly max settings with a playable framerate then I think the god leap i'm about to take in gpu's will suffice heck with the demands being so low for valheim a factory oced 4070ti might be able to push 8K who knows not that i'd notice a difference much on a 28" 4k monitor (the ones with the cm frame cause apparently that makes a difference) but hey who knows I got pretty sharp eyes at close distances and the monitor ain't that far away!
for now i'm gonna have to get a artic esports cooler for my 5600x the wraithe stock cooler does not cut it, it thermal throttles and i've had to lower it to 70celsius throttle but for some reason it still keeps hitting the 80's, so it's the very next thing i'm buying because I don't wanna kill my cpu and I think the gpu might push it even harder than it already has been, then I'll be able to raise the thermal throttle back to it's default, also gonna get some top of the line thermal paste, cause if it's hitting 80c on warm nights now imagine if we have a 40C heat wave like last year I don't think the cpu could survive that without hitting melting point.
Not sure why they decided to start softcapping CPU's like this it tries to go as high as it can before it throttles, I think the ones before didn't do that I remember they used to stick to the base clock and then you could choose to boost clock if you like but this one is supposed to be adaptive the problem with that is the stock cooler that comes with it wasn't really designed to cool a cpu that can boost itself up to 4.6Ghz!
Life story for real lol

@@iDTecKt when i read this i thought 'read more' was gonna yield another paragraph, but then i clicked it....
bro get 3090 or 3080 ti cheaper and better
@@chams2385 lol 🤡
Can you provide the length of the strix 4080/4090 without the rgb bacplate? I’m wondering if I can stuff it inside a cooler master nr200p max.
i'm still good with my ROG RTX 3080 OC 10Go GPU @1440P maybe i'll change it next generation RTX5000
A++ video quality !! Yeah 4070Ti cooler is much smaller than 4080 and 4090. so not worth extra cost. but if it cost $759 will be more value and acceptable.
best buy hasn't had 4080 founders editions in stock since forever
super soon
Just buy the $799 TUF 4070 Ti and flash the Strix OC vBIOS to the card like I did. Profit.
Hello, I have a strix 4090 without OC! My question is does the card have another difference apart from the clock compared to the OC variant? Maybe a better chip. for example MSI gaming trio versus gaming x trio. I'm from Germany and my English isn't the best so I'm sorry for the bad grammar.
No. The only difference is marketing and bios flash. The chip lottery is the same for all asus cards up to now.
Thank you
1000 bucks. ? Insanity for a 4070
Waste.
Buy a 7900xtx or a 4080 founders
The Strix rip off tax.
Good info!, Thank you!
Hey can u tell me dif in temp between rog and tuf version tnks for the video
rtx 4080
is 3090 rog compare 4070ti im thinking about fitting my case those 2 gpus size ?
Your man says "okay" more than Quentin Tarantino in an interview
How is the 13900k running now after the latest bios update? I want one lol
Wait at this point arrow lake is close
Ok this i will wait on. I didnt on the 4080 super but the cpu I can def wait on. Thanks. @JCustom
I mean...you don't need a giant cooler because unlike to 30 series you don't need a nuclear power plant to run it at 100% load lol.
I can get TUF 4070Ti, TUF 4070Ti OC and STRIX 4070Ti (not OC) for roughly the same price. Which one should I get?
I thought the STRIX would be better due to better components and cooling. I wouldn't expect it to perform much worse than the TUF OC.
The Strix should be slightly better than the TUF. They’re mostly the same besides aesthetics and the Strix having slightly better cooling and silicon. I would get the Strix if it only costs a little more than the TUF.
the strix have higher powerlimits and can handle higher memory clock, other than that they are pretty much the same if not the difference of the material used for the chassis
Do a 4070ti AMP extreme vs Asus 4070ti oc ! Pretty sure the Zotac will smack that Strix card around
ive noticed other 4070ti uses a 2x8pin to 16pin, this card uses 3x8pin to 16pin? does all 3x8pins needs to be plugged?
Depends on the PSU. Anything more than 2x8 is really just redundancy. Most higher end quality power supplies will handle 300 watt from 1 8 pin just fine.
im upgrading to this card from a msi aero 1080 thats been used and abused since 2017. Im okay with it
I wish this video had timestamps.
New to pc stuff here. Can someone explain what the difference is between the tuf, oc, strix, and the ti is?
No tangible difference. It’s marginal
6950xt is not as fast as it, the 7900xt is a bit faster until you throw in DLSS and RTX, its so much better with DLSS3, it also completely curb stomps the 7900xt in RTX
Frame gen is a fakegen
@@Name-tn3mdsounds like something an AMD user who doesn’t have frame gen would say
@@ESKATEUK why not rtx 30 user, dumbo? Cuz amd have their own version of thsi fakery
and which is better the rtx 4070 ti aorus master? or asus rog strix Oc of the same series of 4070 ti
Get the cheaper one. The 4070ti rog did get a price slash from Asus not sure if it’s reflected across all retail channels
@@JCustom thanks yep I agree with that but in terms of performance and cooling and everything which is better? Aorus Master or Asus Rog
So should i still grab a 4070 ti strix non oc? or grab the 4080. Building my pc gets more and more conplicated😭
4080 or a 7900xtx. 4070ti strix is too much for what it is
This is the point !!! 6:57 !!
strix wort only for flagship 4090,3090,3090TI etc
DUDE
it all depsnds on the countries
prices are different
what is expensive for me might be cheap for you
by me a 4070ti msi supreme x costs 1400 dollars as the most expensive one
4070ti asus hovers around 1260 dollars
4070ti gigabyte auros master costs1250 dollars
4070ti zotac trinity costs 1074 dollars
4070ti zotac amp airo costs costs 1030 dollars
4070ti galax costs 1050 dollars
okay alright okay 😊
Right? Ok?
Okay
It’s funny how this RUclipsr complain so much about price … you just say this card should be at around 600 dollars 🤣🤣🤣I pay 1200 dollars plus tax for a 2080 ti you this card can beat 3x the 2080 ti and you still think think this card should go go 600 😂😂😂😂
That's your problem. 2080ti was shit in terms of value
You're basically was just a beta tester
I feel really bad for you if you can’t afford it and talking trash on RUclips just think about you sounds like a girl complaining about price wow 😯
@@insanejustice7922 cry more, money waster. But I dont care about you cuz you gonna earn it just like your mom.
That 4070ti is the most pointless card ever 😂😂 $20 more and you’ve got a superior 4080, who would even buy it??
The average 4070 ti costs around 700-800 the average 4080 costs 1000-1200
@@27peace87 I’m not talking about average, I’m talking about the stupidly expensive 4070ti used in this video.
rtx 3090 is a huge failure, with its memory chips on the back.
This is fine unless your workload uses vram intensively which pretty much doesn’t matter to most gamers. Even folks who use these cards to render 8k video don’t have issues with the vram on the back. While it mattered for folks who are mining for the rest it’s an overblown issue
How do you remove the rgb side??
