Anyone else noticed a significant LAG in the game? Pokemon appear and then disappear... then I have to wait about 20 seconds for the game to refresh and they're all back. It's especially annoying because when it happens, any mon I'm tracking says it's fled, but it hasn't when it refreshes... the game just timed out or something :/ It happens A LOT now :(

Niantic should really consider adding in AI gyms, this would be a fantastic way to facilitate new users. Also, if there were AI gyms there would be added goals other then just catching more Pokemon. There is little to no sense of accomplishment gained by taking down a gym when you know it will be all undone in a few hours, but if AI gyms gave badges it would be truer to the original games and more appealing for all levels of users.
Stephen Yee that's a good idea, and maybe in settings you could turn on and off if you want to battle AI gyms. I would totally do that. the icons for AI gyms could look different, can they could be placed at strategic locations! there would have to be either a lot of badges, or some repeat badges. either way, I think that that's a great idea!!

Jimmy Fantage yea there doesn't have to be just 8, I've watched the series and played most of the games, but pokemon go isn't the main stream games. the gym system would have to get a rework first tho, but there could be multiple badges to earn, way more then 8

Actually, you can just turn on Closed Captions, it's a feature in youtube.
You go to the three dots in the right hand corner and it'll pull up a little box with different settings and Closed Captions is the 2nd (or 3rd) option. Click that, it brings up more options, and the you can turn them on. It's easier on the content creators and considerate of RUclips

If you set your phone to not automatically match the local time is it possible to retain your streak while traveling, and could you test that out for us on the Australia trip? Thanks!
Andrew Wright I think Pokemon go runs on a server's time, not your phones time.
He literally just said that streak bonus is based on your local time, ergo the question.
Imagine did you even watch the video? nick said its not a server time. it's the phone time.
It's worth a shot, at least for the first pokestop and pokemon he spins.
It worked for me when I went to Japan from Vancouver, Canada. I did not let my phone time change from its normal time and kept my daily streak bonus both going to and returning from Japan.

Im lucky af, last few hours of the event and I haven't found a single shiny magikarp, morning i find my first 113 and then a few minutes ago my second 10, I thought I had no luck but now I feel the complete opposite
MrBlazinman actually shiny magikarp is still obtainable. its here to stay. idk why people think its for the event only.
No I know that, but its technically an increased spawn rate for magikarps during the event so you know higher chances. After the next hour your chances of getting it go lower than my chances of getting a loyal girl

I'm level 25, and have been playing the game since it launched, i have just gotten enough candy's to get a gyarados, should I evolve my best one, or try to catch a shiny?

Henry try to catch a shiny during the event. it'll be harder to get one in the future without the event when their not everywhere anymore. you can always evolve a regular gyarados in the future by walking for extra candies. hope that helps.
Henry If you took advantage of the event, maybe you should have hit up the hotspots for em, but if not, i'd say evolve the best one, unless you are perseverant. Like, whether or not you are in a rush to evolve one for a decent reason, or jus to have it, you can hit up that hotspot after the event for a month or so. If you don't find any, you might say that is your deadline.

I think "save your candies" was in reference to getting a shiny Gyarados ... 400 candies is pretty hefty imo, even for the water day event

Sebi 17 It's possible that I could've done it wrong, but I literally just tested it after reading your comment (restarted phone after switching times too) and it didn't work. So I doubt that's something that can be exploited and I possibly just lost my streak too 😂

That's not a bad idea and I'm surprised it didn't work. For me, I tested it when i went to Asia last week. Was able to keep my streak bonus bc I kept my phone as my local time in the states (PST). I was also borrowing a 2nd phone for when I wasn't on wifi since VN has its own cell network (can't use T-mobile). Was able to get my current time streak bonus. Vietnam is 14hours ahead than California. Had no issues with going back and forth between phones. Extended my streak bonus for my Asia time as well and would even use my phone that's Cali time when I was on wifi.

I would pay real money if i could change the move sets on pokemon. There is nothing more defeating than when you hatch something you have waited months for, and it has a move set that is absolute garbage. (Nick's togetic for example...) Hatched my first Tyranitar today, Iron Tail and Fire Blast for move set....thanks Niantic

Are high iv Pokémon harder to find then lower? I have caught 47 totadiles and not one of them has above 80%...I hate having to rely on eggs for evolving...
Yes, high IV Pokémon (above 80%) are harder to find than Pokémon with an IV below 80%. Sadly you can't hatch Gen 2 starter Pokémon from eggs so you've got to keep catching them.

I'm not sure why you can't hatch Gen 2 Starters but I know Pidgey and other common Pokémon have been removed to keep the pool of hatch able Pokémon smaller. Here's a list of the Pokémon that can be hatched thesilphroad.com/egg-distances (you'll notice that Houndour for example can't be hatched either)

since (if) its based on your phone could you not put your phone back a few hours as you travel then collect when you get there put your phone back to where it should be and collect again?
That is possible. I did it with 2 separate phones and was playing on both back and forth while in Asia. One was stuck in PST and the other local. Would get my local time streak bonus while in Vietnam (Asia is 14hrs ahead of Cali).
Read another comment where a guy tried to change his local time to be ahead a day, but it didn't work to earn next day's streak bonus. He even restarted the phone after updating his time. So I'm not sure how it worked for me.
Nick is a bit of a "messianic cult of Neistat" fanatic and it worries me a bit. Might not be so healthy if he overworks to try and match him....

I always wonder the same thing! It's always the same with RUclipsrs: "we're going to go catch this", or "we evolved this" and the RUclipsr is always alone... I was starting to think Mystic 7 was schizophrenic or something.

Just a quick one, as an ex-sparky ( UK slang for electric engineer) if you have LED bulbs, it consumes more electricity by switching them on/off, than just leaving them on, for long period of time. So if you have one switch for all of them in one room, might as well leave them on, when there is dark outside :) .

u can get 10k eggs faster... by using this trick... make sure to keep the balance the amount of 2k and 5k eggs... if u have more 5k eggs... hatch em first to make it even amount with the 2k, then you will know what i mean... i got 4 10k eggs each days, and i only have 1 incubator, hatched 2k then 5k then 2k then 5k, then 10k appears...
Thinking of finally quitting now to be honest, also happened to do mass evolutions yesterday, every good pokemon had terrible movesets. It's just getting boring putting on all this effort to get the candies to never get a move set I want/need.
Does anyone else agree? Is a pokemon with good IVs but bad moves sets still worth powering up, or just start over collecting again and hope for better luck next time? Or just quit altogether?
Cloud R just wait until we can change moves. I hold on to all my good IVs just in case

nah. It's best to have the...best moves and average IV's than Worst moves and 100% IV. So after evo you get the final veredict to keep or transfer a pokemon based solely on the moves.
Like how I have 2 perfect mons with the worst move set, 2 with the second worst and only 1 with the best😂

gps drift on civilian systems is mandated by the US Military. Military systems are precise to within a millimeter with no drift.

you're guaranteed an item on 7 day. you can still get an item randomly

It's probably already said but thinking they are going to give out lucky eggs at poke stops for Easter and that may be the save your candies hint, hidden "Easter egg". Since some buy their eggs it probably doesn't matter but where I don't buy anything it will be wonderful like the incubator give away if they do do this.

okay I understand what you said about drifting so why is it when I use my Google GPS there is no drifting before I start playing Pokemon go I used to use a app for walking there never was any drifting I can't stand it when I'm sitting still next to a gym and in the middle of the battle my avatar runs down the street

Not true about gps drift going away... some day. US government is supposed to be launching new more exact gps satellites that will hopefully entirely remove gps drift.
They are also equipped with different signals that might do a better job of penetrating buildings.

Could you make a video explaining the problem on unbalanced teams in pokemon go? I am team instinct but every gym around me is red and I struggle to get my pokecoins as I believe many other instinct players :/
wrong number The thing is that is not really niantic's fault but rather the players who chose to be X team and are more active in that place (unless the gyms are ruled with spoofers). I have to drive to the other side of town/out of town for gyms :')
All you can try and do is get a group of friends and see witch gyms you can take down and get to high prestige while still been able to defend them.

I started a vlog in January and I also find myself using "we" all the time, and many other vloggers do too. I've thought about it and it is just more fun to use we because since us vloggers are often alone it's nice to think we're together with our viewers and that we're all sharing the experiences together. It also seems kind of selfish to always talk about yourself all the time so I don't like to say "I" that much lol. :-)

Inclusive "we" is good for building a channel. It creates an illusion of the audience being a part of the video creation. They're more likely to return if they feel they were part of the creation.
Well, after spending a lot of time outside catching so many pokemon I didn't get a shiny karp but I did get enough candy to get another Gyarados... problem with that though is that I don't know which one to evolve and I'm worried about only having 181k dust.
148 cp 71% IV's that would cost me 14k dust to power up to my lvl
121 cp 91% IV's that would cost me 70k dust
61 cp 98% IV's that would cost 105k dust and 100 candy that I currently don't have spare
This would be my second Gyarados, my first one has Bite, Hydro Pump and 96% IV's.
Anyone got any suggestions? Nick? :D

with the candies reduction of gen 4 for togepi from 50 to 25 wouldn't it Worth saving it? Maybe the experience u get know it's more valuable then the experience u'd get later? (PresentDiscountValue vs FutureDiscountValue)

edit: personally I am not hatching a lot right now because I reached lev 30 and I really starting to feel the need for Instrument upgrade + the Pokemon upgrade (btw the instrument upgrade actually passivelly gives exp over time).
because of this the 25 difference in candies for Porigon and Togepi really makes a difference to me. Finishing the pokedex is something that will happen eventually, grinding levels no..
"We" is good. Its called T.O.W.E.L." TALK, "Together" "our" "we" "everyone" "let's" great for team-building and training, makes us feel like we're part of it
"We" debate. Goes in many different areas. As a meteorologist, I'm constantly referred to as "they". I can just be chatting with people and will often hear "They said we would see rain today"... or something to that effect. Who is "they?"
BTW IndyCar there April 7-9! Living in Indianapolis and being an IndyCar fan, I'm excited to see what you have planned.
I use "we" as a teacher all the time too. It is a "community" a family...we all work together for a common goal...so a "we" an "us"...so it makes sense..but yes...I often find myself saying "What we are looking for in this project is..x...y...z...."..then I say something like..."We...meaning me myself and I..." Ha... :)
