- The Pangeos is an itinerant floating city, comprising various hotels, shopping centers, parks, ship and aircraft ports, and all other facilities needed to house up to 60,000 guests.
The terayacht takes its name from Pangea, the supercontinent that existed millions of years ago during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras.
Pangeos extends its length for 550 meters (1,800 ft) and measures 610 meters (2,000 ft) at its widest point - the wings.

I literally only clicked this to read the comments, which tends to be far more interesting than reading the original article....
There is no question that this thing would not be seaworthy. A storm with waves of more than 10 metres and cross seas would be the end. The construction would tear apart and the remains would be in maritime distress, if not sink immediately. How the heck could 60,000 people be saved? Investors will stay away.
I think it's main focus aren't the seas, but more the shores
@@MarshalMathew and by shores you must mean this is shorely never going to happen because we live on Earth, not in fuckin Narnia
@MarshalMathew I'm sure its destroyed remains will wash up on shore eventually
This is the most stupid shit i have ever seen. Only make sense if it's a teenager render project.
Don't you think their number one priority will be safety and good infrastructure
Excuse me, where are the four elephants that are supposed to be sitting on top of the turtle?
It would be interesting to see how this vessel behaves in the middle of a big sea storm, even because it won't have the speed to run away from it.
Que coisa mais feia ! Um montrengo ,! Horrível ,artificial e mal gosto
The giant turtle legs would be torn off.
This yacht cost $5 billion. So we dont have to be worry, they definitely have a solution. Another thing that will not be used in storms! They will know there is a storm several days before it happens. Also, this yacht is fully equipped with ships and planes. It is a water city
البحر الأحمر لا تحدث فيه أعاصير وأمواج كبيرة مثل المحيطات .
Think of how big it will have to be to house 60,000 people. Then look at a cruise ship that holds what 4000-5000 people. The size of it compared to surging sea waves, It would probably barely be effected. Then with the stabilization features they have now days, Im pretty sure it will have no problem in storms.... If built, It would probably be one of the most stable designs ever!
Gonna look beautiful on the sea floor, there are so many issues with its design that it's not worth listing them off.
I'd love to see how it'll handle large waves. It's not nearly fast enough to escape it. This is gonna be one heck of an artificial reef shortly after it's built.
It won't even get built.
@@thomasbecker9676 Dude, its the Arabs, if they want to build it they're definitely going to. Sure it'll be a waste of money but they've got plenty to burn.
@@snibetysnab It's really just the king, as I understand it. But they never finish the projects. Look at all the stuff in Dubai that's falling apart and was never completed.
@@thomasbecker9676 Ofc but still, they're dumb enough to get started on building it and only realise half way that a) its a retarded idea and b) they'd rather spend their money on driving plastic sports cars around London trying to flex through their towels.
a bloody expensive one too xD
Projects like this are hard for me to even wrap my head around the amount of time labor materials and money something like this takes.
Looks like another Freedom Ship scam to me.
According to Saudi Arabia, it will take 8 years.
Better than another stupid aircraft carrier or Trident sub.

One good storm and it will be in Davy Jones Locker, next to the Titanic!!
Good storm? It wouldn't even be able to get out of the dock in calm waters, let alone see a storm.
It would probably cost almost as much as it's worth to maintain every year. Massively bad idea but would be nice to see.
But also the bigger they are the more money they produce out of it + it would be one of a kind so they could charge whatever and people would still go on
More like the Turtle of the seas.
It will be like hotel California. You can check out but you can never leave.
First thing is, why would wealthy people want to live in tiny-homes, stuck on a ship amongst tens-of-thousands of others. A "city" with that population needs massive infrastructure including waste management. Sanitation needs such as water treatment would be a challenge. Supply chains would be difficult to maintain. Looks fancy but is absolutely not practical.
That's the challenge, you know this guy is very ambitious, so don't equate his standards with people like us.
@@mamanbae3885 I do not dispute that it's a very ambitious project but the reality of placing that many wealthy people into such a confined space does not make any reasonable sense. I can see that the vessel could be re-purposed as a place to house the homeless if they could handle logistics or a prison ship. Of course, some of the luxury accommodations may not be present in such a project.

@@Matser666777 Noah's ark for the wealthy? How long do you think that harmony would last before all of those spoiled rich folks have to start doing things for themselves and go crazy. It wouldn't take long for them to turn on their neighbors. The good ship Karen would be chaos in no time.
the amount of stress those wings would endure during a slight wave storm would break those off in a instant. apparently this ship is made out of concrete, which would make it more brittle
I'm curious: How long will it take to build a dry dock big enough to actually build and maintain this cute little vessel? How many ports will be able to host and supply it? How will that ship dock anyway? Who exactly is willing to spend thousands for some days of recreation in a small villa inside of something with the charm of an empty football stadium or of some banlieue of Paris? (no sea view, but at least it's shady and you'll see a bit of the sky) Will it fit through the strait of Gibraltar? How are we going to find it again after it got lost facing the forces of some Atlantic storm with drained batteries?
It’s almost like they’re not paying engineers to work these things out…but Thomas wolf has this 5 billion dollar project figured out

@@jacobrodriguez7456 this made me laugh out loud
No need to dry dock, helicopters can deliver supplies and orders. Also, to go ashore when close to port it looks like some people have their own boats and smaller yachts to go ashore as in the pictures. I see drones, boats, and helicopters on board.

Those outstretched arms are a dangerous thing. It not only will restrict it to certain waterways but they can be easily hit and it could sink the ship. They need to fold the arms back closer to the ship.
At almost 1/2 mile wide, I don't think they care about waterways....
How about get the f put the way lol
I do think they should be able to retract back for movement and extend out, slowly of course, when stationary.
Also how fast should the ship go ships are formed the way they are for a reason

I would like to live there... if it were static, near to a lake of course and not floating in the middle of the ocean waiting to be sunk at any moment.
This looks stunningly beautiful! Even very unique idea. Something I would spend money on. Only problem how and what does it have for protection! Against sea storms, Giant waves. Can it survive a tsunami? Things water related even a hurricane what's the resistance? Details we need details! It can look good. But I'd rather an armored floating tank wheres the turtle shell haha :)
You think you can afford it 😂😂😂 good joke mate
Nice concept, but the central port seems to be a risky fail. Also it seems there are not waterparks as other cheaper cruise, and I counted too many helicopters sometimes too close to structures 🤔
Why would that central port be a risky fail?
This further adds clout to my long-held belief that Wall-e predicts the future of humanity
yeaaaaaahhhh i am sure people in the year 2100 would love to see a Titanic like movie. The fact that this city is already starting to be made is the start of a new Antantis.
Probably great where there are few waves . Nice concept though.
Doable concept and not necessarily much forward facing resistance if the whole light-materials' structure is made to float on multihulls parallel to each other and cutting through the navigation direction. A kind of a bunch of catamarans all binded together.
Very much NOT a doable concept. Even if you could hypothetically make it, this ship would never survive the ocean. Any ocean or marine engineer worth their salt could tell you that.
Beautiful...but give me wide open fields of green any day!
Floating cities like ecopolis will be the future also for biomedical engineers
A great idea, it can happen, but you will have a huge engineering error in the front, which is the front flippers of the turtle. They should be tilted backwards, not forwards. Good luck
Reminds me a lot of that mission from call of duty bo2
Just like the wall thing in the middle of a desert, this project seems to be doubtful with power sources in mind as to how it will function with being this gigantic. I'm only seeing this could potentially and partially happening with nuclear power as a main energy.

The entire design and concept is hard to beat for idiocy and megalomania. An incredibly good example that humanity should simply perish.

why is there a bunch of jets on the yacht (visible in the first few seconds of the video)? Makes no logical sense as there's no runway.
@SleepyFilipy the jets in the video are definitely not VTOLs tho. This just some illogical detail that makes me question the whole feasibility of the rest of the concept.
