was in that crowd with my son, first time seeing them live, was expecting Anette , and lost my mind when Floor came out, knew of her from After Forever, awesome and amazing night, glad to have been that at her start, have not missed a Texas show since....Bravo
No performer has ever captivated me like Floor does , i cant help watching every little thing she does , over and over.....she is absolutely gorgeous here .
I can´t agree more. Even seeing her, let alone listening to her sing brings tears to my eyes sometimes. 11 months ago I was so lucky to have found Floor and Nightwish. When this performance took place in 2012 I was in hospital after getting meningitis on the 8th of October 2012. Little did I know that I was about to plunge into a dark hell for the next 9 years dealing with cognitive problems and being burnt out to the max. I find it amazing that listening to Floor sing everyday since discovering her 11 months ago has changed the course of my life in the most profound way. She bring me joy and happiness every single day. If I listen to Floor, I´m the happiest soul on earth. I never get tired of her voice .. It´s pure medicine for my soul that allows me to feel alive and takes away the pain and struggle, replacing it with inspiration, beauty and wonder. Floor saved me..
@@laudatosiadastra1218 sorry hear to about that but im Happy that Floor has helped you through those dark times ......ive been there myself ( dark times) and i understand perfectly .
You probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend during the lockdown :)
Proably cuz the audio and visual quality is garbage? Lol It is nice to see the beginnings of her career with them though. She seems to have settled in nicely straight from the start.
OMG it's so cute! You can clearly see how she's overwhelmed being there singing this song which later became HER song. Like "challenge accepted" - and nailed it. I'm so glad they grew together this smoothly
It's impossible not to stop to watch another version in the most beautiful and perfect voice in the universe. No matter how many times I see her perform, since 2002 and even more after joining nightwish, I am always completely mesmerized and abducted by Floor Jansen's incomparable presence.
I don't know about other tours, but this 2nd half of the tour with Nightwish has got to be one of the most documented on the internet. Watching how the band evolves after Annette left, from Seattle to Wacken, and how the chemistry works and how Floor has helped change the band's tone and energy is just amazing. It's like the prefect metal storm. I really don't think it could have happened to better people, either.
The clouds parted and a ray of sunshine beamed to earth. That beam was Floor descending to bring the universe into order. After 10 days and 7 live performances she began to breath new life into this song and lead the band to new highs. Wow! so awesome to see this first ever performance of GLS and Floor feeling her way through all if the vocal intricacies of this amazing song. She deserves so much credit for taking this and many other Nightwish songs to a whole new level. Literally breathing new life and a fresh sound into many Nightwish songs. Love this woman. She is so talented and special. ❣❣🤘🤘🌹🌹🤯🤯
Besides Floor, one thing I absolutely adore about this band that we can clearly see is that there is almost no backing track. Throughout the song we can see Tuomas changing from keyboard to keyboard to make all of the different instruments, he is like a whole orchestra all by himself. This man is truly the heart of Nightwish, yet he's so humble and behind the scenes. Thank you for all the great songs Mr Holopainen, you are one of the great composers of history.
So cool to see her first try at this very difficult and dynamic song. She definitely did not look as poised as I'm accustomed and her nerves were apparent. Who knew this would be the song that endeared her to the NW community just a few weeks later in Buenos Aires……Well Done Floor.
+BMOON5 That show in Buenos Aires was everything. You could feel the love and I still get goosebumps when she goes for that last chorus with the lower notes and then spews that AMAZINGLY PERFECT HIGH NOTE to that AMAZINGLY PERFECT HUGE CHEER from the fans.
She was probably terrified beyond belief with what she was up against, and then the audience who received the vocal performance they've been wanting since Tarja gave Floor the response she deserved! I'm sure the band must have felt good!
Great to see / hear her first real attempt with GLS. And fantastic to hear the developments you can hear in the version later in Buenos Aires and especially Wacken 2013. In these later versions you hear the much greater confidence and conviction that is naturally not present this first time. And then she comes on time after the big middle section. It's almost charming when she's late with "Bring me home ..." at around 5:42.
I'm obviously late to the party and everything that can be said about Floor, the special situation at the time and this song in particular has already been said by others. Let me just thank you for sharing your footage here. Your close up shots, not only, but especially of Floor, are gorgeous and spectecular in a way you don't find on most other spectator-shot live videos out there. If I weren't already Floored, I'd be after watching this video. But then, the other band members also get their fair share of screentime. Fine work. Again, thank you. Greetings from Germany!
Gawd how I adore this woman!! Angel, Valkyrie, Medusa, goddess, FL😍😍R!! I will see you soon for first time flying from states to Amsterdam AFAS concert next March dear lady! Then NW for first time in 2020 in U.S. I HOPE!!
Her hear rate must have been at 140bpm. And its impressive how she puts in so much diversity and interpretation into it already at the first performance. She could have easily chosen the easy way out. But she went all in. Admirable. And super brave. And she brought it to perfection very quickly after this one. And the wacken performance is the legendary zenith. Glorious in every imaginable aspect. The entire band. Mind blowing that that's 7 years ago already. Time flies.
This must be how it would feel if someone captured the Gettysburg address or Mozart's first symphony on camera and you got to see it for the first time. History being made. Floor + Nightwish = Chocolate + Peanut Butter.
wow!! I'm so glad to see they still perform this song!! it's so beautiful. Missing Tarja, but I love Floor, and she's definitely up for this band unlike Anette.
I just wish an interviewer would ever ask them how this went. She just added some extra notes to show off hello i can go higher and this song has the right space at the end to do it. Was it totally spontanious, did she surprize the guys with it. Or was it planned and practised during soundtracks. Was it the reason why they added this song to the setlist? When did she get the idea of adding those notes? Did she always want to add them when she heard the song back in the Tarja years or when did the idea occur?
This was truly their best line up ever! Floor on vocals and Jukka on drums! While Kai is awesome(And superior technically) I still liked Jukka more in NW. Hope he recovers:(
I agree.. Unfortunately the 2020 Covid9 crisis was a trigger for Marko to leave as well and gave us back another Jukka.. Just not the drummer.. As good as they still are, the lineup in this video was simply better and their best ever.. Kai does not have the same entertainment value as Jukka, and the new bass player Jukka does not sing like Marko..
