Oh I filmed my last few videos with covid and it was difficult - the cup of tea/lempsip was definitely needed and so much editing out coughing! Hope you're feeling better by now! And glad you're being kind to yourself about slowly starting to enjoy reading (and other things again).
I'm in the middle of reading The Colony and it's so good! Hopefully should finish it soon.
You're definitely making me want to revisit Station Eleven - especially after the last few years!
I listened to the audiobook of Small Things Like These - it was quite short but I really liked it actually. Bit moralistic for my taste but I think it was saying something true and important. Treacle Walker was....a weird ride...

I'm glad you're enjoying the colony! and yeah i didn't dislike small things but it just did nothing for me, i can understand why people like it

    I agree about The Colony!
Oh nice I loved Build Your House Around My Body. I remember just being like, I’m gonna stop trying to figure out where this is going haha it’s never ends how I expect in any thread.
I’ve heard interesting things about Animalia. Sounds… intense.
I actually didn’t like Station Eleven as much as most, but then watched the new show and it really illustrated things that I connected with and didn’t appreciate as much in the book.

Intense is the best way to describe Animalia, everything is just a lot. And I totally forgot Station Eleven was made into a tv show, I might check it out

Small Things Like These reads like a Maeve Binchy book. I really like Maeve Binchy so that's no bad thing. But Maeve Binchy was never nominated for a Booker 🤷

You’re telling me Animalia wasn’t the best book? All that pig vulva for NOTHING

I haven’t finished it yet but it’s definitely the best book featuring pig vulvas I’ve ever read
