@@Jelly-Mack Buy a type 2 cable with a physical button that unlocks it.
Can you unplug the charging handle *without* the app after charging is stopped (lights Off on car charging port), i.e. only using the handle? I have tried to click the switch on the handle but it doesn't seem to help. Sometimes I walk to my Tesla and don't bring my phone - then it's annoying to have to walk back in and fetch my phone 😉
No you can’t. You can unlock the charger from inside the car. Just press the car button, charging and there is an option to unlock charger.

Weird. Got mine nov 30th last year and never had this problem. I click the «open chargeport» in the app and it’s good to go. Model y. I do have «T» inside hatch next to the port that glows green when charging, blue when done, white when unlocked, so it makes it easy to know when to pull it out

@@5MinuteSchool tesla does a poor job of covering everything a new buyer must know essentially a…..tesla buying for dummies from a to z. Two friends are buying Teslas and they come to me with questions. When I ordered my Highland, i paid the $250 deposit with apple pay. I did not want to use the email account attached to it for my Tesla account. 1. Ordering…what to do what to expect. 2. Putting a credit card on your account….that is how your charging and everything else will be billed. In my case I opened a separate bank account to sequester all of the Tesla charges. 3. Essential accessories you should have ready before you take delivery i.e. floor mats (it was raining on my delivery day), screen protector, card case with hook for the Tesla card as it easy to misplace the one not kept in the wallet…..perhaps the subject, things Tesla doesn’t tell you that you need to know.

This is my home charger. It’s not an official Tesla charger, it’s a 3rd party one by a company called Hypervolt.
