This episode needs an adaptation in the comic. Badly. They already adapted one cancelled episode called "When Pants Ruled!" so we know it is a possibility, and If any cancelled Invader ZIM episode deserves to appear in the comics, it's this one. It would have easily been one of the best in the whole series in my opinion.
That really is a very cool idea you got there, adapting The Trial to the comic series. But personally, I'd like to remain optimistic that the show itself will eventually be revived to the airwaves, and that the newest episodes to kick off its revival will either be Mopiness of Doom (because of ironic parallels in the story compared to the dormant state of the show) or The Trial. This isn't just wishful thinking, either. Jhonen Vasquez has actually returned to work for Nick for at least one online Ninja Turtles short, "Don vs. Raph". I seriously recommend checking it out if you're a fan of Ninja Turtles, Jhonen's work, or even both, like I am. We have yet to see what the future holds, but I'm crossing my fingers that Nick finally gets their asses in gear and remedies the biggest mistake they've ever made in their history.
My thoughts exactly. I was wondering how they were possibly going to do Tallest Purple without Kevin, but if they wanted to in the actual show, they could have had Wally voice both Tallests. Maybe that little budget cut could've saved the frickin' show from being cancelled...
Good point. Probably because they got triggered over how sharp his satire in the show was getting... so sharp, it could cut the poor, innocent kiddies watching it, or so their empty exec heads blindly thought. Then again, there were just a few reasons on Jhonen's part that resulted in the show's cancellation. I actually found and spoke with someone who formerly worked on Nickelodeon's channel design team or something along those lines during the early 2000's (better known as my childhood), and he provided some very insightful reasons as to why Invader Zim got cancelled. Would you like to hear them?
All I know of is the extensive amount of budget they wanted to properly convey the story going forward and the controversy at the Dark Harvest screening. There's even more? Also, what's so different at Nick now that made them give Zim another shot after so long?
Oh, far more than you think, my friend. I could go on for hours, probably. The budget for the show was indeed very expensive, with nearly $1.2 million on average going into each episode; the innovative CGI sequences probably cost the most. This wouldn't necessarily be that much of a problem if Jhonen would have been more open to certain means of financing the show... aka, merchandising. Jhonen was vehemently opposed to this, however, as he was taking more of a Watterson-style approach to his show, treating it more as an art and passion than as a show overall. As much respect as I have for Jhonen for sticking to his guns on artistic creativity, he really should have known better at the time. This was a cartoon on Nickelodeon, after all. One of the biggest reasons Spongebob got as popular as it is now is because that show was perfectly open to merchandising, and only benefited from it in the long run. Besides, Jhonen only shot himself in the foot twice by refusing the merchandising offer the first time, because not only did the show end up getting cancelled, but Nick would still produce merchandise to sell at Hot Topic during the heyday of the show's cult following, way after its cancellation. So yeah, Nick was definitely being assbags about it, before and after cancellation, but in all fairness, Jhonen could have done more to prevent the show's cancellation. The only thing I know about Dark Harvest's controversy is when Scott Dyleski cited that episode as his inspiration to carve out his victims' organs. That aside, I personally believe that Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy is way darker than Dark Harvest, solely because, even if for a brief moment, Zim actually succeeds in KILLING Dib. That, and perpetual increase of childhood trauma and physical crippling. That's pretty dark too. You wanna know why Nick finally decided to make the right decision and bring Zim the hell back already? Samurai Jack, that's why. That's show's phenomenal 5th season on Adult Swim garnered so much success that Nick decided to hop onto the budding nostalgia-cashing train by caving into their most repeated requests, to bring Zim back on the air at long last. So you can thank Genndy Tartakovsky, the messiah of Western animation, for Zim's resurrection.
man i miss invader zim (even if i was born when it was cancelled...2002....) i watched it on nicktoons when i was younger till it stopped airing on there in 2006 XD but me and my older brother both miss this show i know there's comics now..but..i miss THE SHOW itself heck even my mom loved it!
Ehh, I wouldn't say that about Jhonen. The thing about him not wanting to do the show is probably just a rumor. Everything's already set for Invader Zim to be revived, but Nickelodeon still refuses because they don't believe the fanbase is large enough. But we're here to set that straight, with Project Massive! :D You, of course, have heard of Project Massive, right?
Since March 26 and 27, 2011. That's when the first one was held, in Atlanta, Georgia, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Invader Zim. Apparently, it was so popular among the fans, that a second one was held in Los Angeles, California, entitled InvaderCon 2: DoomCon. What was significantly different about the 2nd con is that Jhonen Vasquez, the show's creator, showed up for one day of the con's length. This video here is of a script reading of an unreleased episode, The Trial.
Yes. The Control Brains and my predecessors were truly creative at inventing names to describe disasters. Especially the ones caused by this particular Irken.
Jess3674 Well, sorry man, but the comic's the best thing we got right now. It literally is a canon continuation of the show, and it's REALLY good so far, as if the show never ended. Besides, in the sordid state Nickelodeon is in now, do you really think they'll handle the show well if they brought it back?
I am NOT DEEEEEAD! There have been hints of new episodes! Plus, the girls over at SoapyWaffles have been animating the lost episode "Mopiness of Doom"! You can check out the progress here on RUclips now!
Invader Zim The Great Hate to break it to you, fellow Zim fan, but SoapyWaffles' animation of Mopiness of Doom began over 2 years ago... and was never finished. Fan groups such as SoapyWaffles and Operation: Head Pigeons have been inactive for months now. Besides, if you REALLY want to see a continuation of the series, that's already happened... in comic form: nerdist.com/invader-zim-lives-returns-this-summer-in-oni-press-comic-book/
Yep, very. ^^ Personally, I'm very impressed with how great Roger Bumpass plays the Judgementian Control Brains! That eerie booming voice is just perfect! :D And Wally Winger as BOTH Red AND Purple is just fantastic!
Me too. If Nick couldn't handle Jhonen's ideas, I would have loved for him to finish Zim on another network like Comedy Central or Adult Swim. The Invader Dib movie must happen!
Yes, and it appears to be quite frozen, considering the fact that Nickelodeon finally renewed the goddamn show with a TV movie in 2018. About time, I say!
That's not entirely true. A great deal of Irken culture, biology, history, etc. is omitted in the show's lore, leaving a great deal of it to be filled in by rather creative headcanon that sounds legit enough to count as canon. Not once has it ever been explicitly stated that Irkens are incapable of love, even if they have long surpassed biological reproduction thanks to the establishment of Smeet facilities.

LOL, Skoodge had such a girly voice when he was younger. I MUST see more. Guess who's watching this with me? THE WHOLE INVADER ZIM CREW! You see, I invented a machine that brings animation to life. I call it The Bring To Life Box! Zim: Yes, yes Crystal, you sure did, and you brought us to life. Red: Forget about that, continue on Crystal! Look, there's a part 2 at the top! Me: Yeah, yeah Red I see it. Just hold on, don't get your antennas in a knot.
What a generous investment that would be! ^3^ I'm certain Zim fans everywhere would be celebrating your name for doing such a wonderful thing. :'3 Though the thing is, Nickelodeon already has all the funds they need to revive the series, the problem is they're spending those funds on their newer, crappy shows that anyone with a brain doesn't give a shit about...
@SteampunkFox Hopefully we will, my friend. We can only hope Enter the Florpus serves as the televised revival we need to breathe new life into Invader Zim and finally complete the series.
Oh yeah, I knew about Soapy Waffles before! ^^ They were at InvaderCon 2 when I went there! :3 But wait, what was that you said? Silver screen? They're making a MOVIE?! 8DD
Hey, I"m looking to see if Shout! Factory would be interested in making an Invader ZIM 20th Anniversary DVD set. It's a huge shot in the dark but maybe they'd even be interested in fan footage from InvaderCON. If this is something you'd be interested in, lemme know.
That definitely sounds very ambitious and fascinating. I'd totally be all for it! As far as I know, the Media Blasters subsidiary known as Anime Works has a hold of the distribution rights to Invader Zim, seeing as how they published the original three DVD volumes and the rare special features disc. But with the right connections and higher-up approval, I'm positive it'll be quite a success. Though of course, the highest seal of approval needs to come from Jhonen Vasquez himself, so if you or anyone you know can get in touch with him, that's the first big step towards making this vision a reality. Best of luck, friend!
@@CatMaster90001 DVD license reverted back to Nick and they produce bare bones made-on-demand DVD-r discs these days. I wanted Media Blasters to be part of it, truly I did. It would have been so fitting for them to at least participate but their company has downsized considerably and there is no way for consumers to contact them. Now this part I don't have time to verify but a TVTroper asserts that the company pretty much focuses on hentai and making quick DVD-r discs. Oh well. Times have changed.Shout! But of course it would suck if it were to disregard any reasonable input from Jhonen. Thanks for the response! =D
True, the budget is one reason they're not really bringing it back, but I heard in the Operation Head Pigeons panel that Nick now has just about everything needed to bring Zim back, INCLUDING the money... ;3 ... but there's one thing they still need to bring it back: a reason. They still don't believe the Zim fanbase is "big" enough, and that's what Project Massive is gonna prove them wrong on! :D

Hannah Trancy .awesome Abigail. I'm not sure when or if they're having another one, but I'm pretty sure you can easily Google-search their website and find out for yourself. ^^
That would be in Part 2, which is also uploaded to my channel. Be warned, however. Melissa Fahn's Miyuki voice is not what you'd expect, and is mostly played for laughs.
I happen to like the show, as well as a LOT of other people. Don't judge others based on what they like or don't like, or you'll be liable to be kicked off of this comment page, or worse.
Actually, the reason they don't do the show anymore is because it was obscenely over budget. Nicktoons is interested in bringing the show back (Jhonen said on his blog he was excited over the idea), but that's a small arm of nick that doesn't have the individual money for that pricey a show.
the only way to get a show back is to buy the merchandse nick will not care about a bunch of people's opinions unless they can get money out of it. same reason family guy and firefly got returned.
Hmmm... True but alot of the time in interviews he says he doesnt want to. But it is Nick's fault since they fired him/cancelled the show. But still, i guess it iisnt REALLY his fault. still be nice if nick would take him back permanatly...
XDD Funny response there, but I must correct it with something a bit more academic: if you are doing research, gather it from reliable sources only, not anyplace where rumors are sure to sprout.
I feel like the dude recording is on some good drugs

But... He's WILLING to go back to Mick, for the Zimmy fans!
OMIGARB!!! ZIM'S COMING BACK!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! NICK MADE A BAD CHOICE CANCELLING IT!!!
Who's your dealer, man? Hook me up.
Zim is a helluva drug, my dude.
@@CatMaster90001 You right, I love the enthusiasm though.
I wish I was there !!!
Does anyone know in which trial reading they talk miyuki's death?
So a conversation between red and zim
And maybe at with second?
That would be in Part 2, which is also uploaded to my channel. Be warned, however. Melissa Fahn's Miyuki voice is not what you'd expect, and is mostly played for laughs.
@@CatMaster90001 thank you😀
"ow that hurt my foot"
*MY TAAAALLESTS!!*
Oh, they did make a movie. Google can do wonders.
Mhm!
I happen to like the show, as well as a LOT of other people. Don't judge others based on what they like or don't like, or you'll be liable to be kicked off of this comment page, or worse.
Did Patrick Star go to this?
Actually, the reason they don't do the show anymore is because it was obscenely over budget. Nicktoons is interested in bringing the show back (Jhonen said on his blog he was excited over the idea), but that's a small arm of nick that doesn't have the individual money for that pricey a show.
O.O Wow, I didn't know that! Cool! :D
I WANT ONE! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE?
the only way to get a show back is to buy the merchandse nick will not care about a bunch of people's opinions unless they can get money out of it. same reason family guy and firefly got returned.
O_O ... doth mine eyes deceive me?? Can this be true?!! HOW IS THIS SO????!!! TELL MEEEEEE!!!!! 8DDD
Really? and nice to meet you Invader Tazi
When did firefly come back?
xD the singing
BRING THE INVASION BACK!!!!
To GIIIIIIVE ME your fan plushies!!!!!!
Auto generated cc is so weird
MY HEAD EXPLODED
Hmmm... True but alot of the time in interviews he says he doesnt want to. But it is Nick's fault since they fired him/cancelled the show. But still, i guess it iisnt REALLY his fault. still be nice if nick would take him back permanatly...
So? Is that a problem?
The whoooo scares meh D:
XDD Funny response there, but I must correct it with something a bit more academic: if you are doing research, gather it from reliable sources only, not anyplace where rumors are sure to sprout.
18:26 zim wants to be tallest
I love these fans!
