    He mentions dairy being linked to acne. I'm in my 40's and have had acne since I was 11 years old. I chose a vegan lifestyle 18 months ago, my skin is the best it has been since I was 10. It is not 100% clear, but has improved probably by 95%. (maybe if I stopped the wine, I would gain that additional 5% ;) ).

    • @alia_babo
      @alia_babo 3 года назад +2

      To be specific, it's skimmed milk that is proven to worsen acne in some (but still many) people. Other milks like low-fat or whole maybe the culprit too, but it's not really supported. It's a bit more certain that dairy worsens eczema and that's why I started eating plant-based. It's not 100% clear for me too, but my eczema breakouts are only on my hands which is explainable since I wash my hands a lot especially nowadays and am too lazy to moisturize every time I wash my hands. Before going plant-based, I would get it on my upper arms, thighs, and shins. It was fascinating how everything cleared up one I stopped consuming something.

      @dassitdassall 6 лет назад

      Herbivore Beauty so what is it?
      You just said, "most of us can't digest it properly."
      Yeah, that's because the milk is pasteurized. Raw milk contains enzymes and lactase making it super easy to digest.

    • @AshleyNaoWellness
      @AshleyNaoWellness 6 лет назад +30

      Jorge Rodriguez i said most people aka 65-75% of the world is lactose intolerant because milk wasn’t meant to be consumed into adulthood in any species, including humans. I’m not going to argue because a simple google search will provide you with the information, or you can actually watch the video in its entirety to have the reasons why most of us are lactose intolerant to begin with, but what you choose to believe makes no difference to me😊 have a good day

    • @dassitdassall
      @dassitdassall 6 лет назад +4

      Herbivore Beauty Again, 65% - 75% of the world is lactose intolerance because of pasteurized milk. The milk loses all of its enzymes, probiotics, lactase and so on.
      Most google searches will talk about pasteurized milk which is garbage, raw milk is something completely different.
      You don't even know that you don't even know what you're talking about, LOL.

      @kevinf4896 2 года назад

      No one needs it but once some human populations developed the genetic mutation to allow the digestion of lactose after infancy, the mutation became the dominant allele in those populations. Therefore, one can extrapolate that for those populations, not all humans, digesting lactose as an adult, aka drinking animal milk, provided a benefit that increased their reproductive fitness Ive that of those that could not aka they had more offspring survive than ones who could not digest lactose. And while it might not look symbiotic, because the cow is treated very poorly and killed if male and not needed for impregnating more female dairy cows, humans and cows have a symbiotic relationship genetically. Cows as a species (genetically) are very successful as they have high reproductive fitness, producing more offspring, enabled by humans who want them for food or milk. So genetically, it all makes sense. Morally, it does not. However as soon as all humans give up milk and meat, all cows go away and just simply won’t exist anymore...they likely cannot survive on their own in nature having spent millennia being bred to be passive and losing their roaming abilities

I reply to all those weirdos by saying I choose not to use my body as a graveyard for tortured, murdered,now putrifying bodies of dead animals.Some just shut up.Others debate. I ask them what temperature they keep their house at, what temperature is the human body? ask what would happen if they left the piece of meat they are eating for dinner,out on the counter for 3 or more days since it takes that long to leave the human long digestive system.So how is the meat in their bodies not putrid? Also bring up the energy of food.We choose good energy of living plants instead of consuming the torture,suffering,terror the murdered animal was filled with at death.

Well, why you think people (including vegans) still bother to drink alcohol and consume sugar when there are tons of scientific studies showing how bad these things gonna screwed up their health? Alcohol can also cause cancer, ruined liver function and sugar can f****d up cholestrol level as well. I am not gonna spoon fed you so go and show me evidence if I was wrong.

      FOURTEEFIVE All dairy contains pus and unless you would lick your fingers popping a zit, why do you think that pasteurized pus makes it okay. Pasteurization does not even kill all the bacteria in milk. I quit milk because I could barely sign my name I had so much arthritis in my fingers. But I was also in and out of a wheelchair because of arthritis in my back.
      Yes, it is unwise to get rid of the wheelchair, but I don't use it any longer because I am not afflicted with pain like that any longer. My split heels cleared up quitting dairy and my skin has never been better. I also no longer get urinary tract infections at all. I used to be on antibiotics at least 4 times a year for that. I now take no medications and not only is this true for me but also my husband. And neither of us have asthma any longer. My husband's asthma was worse than mine, he was on his pump and nebulizer every night in some months. He has no signs of asthma now.
      People think they need dairy for calcium, but it is not the right kind for us to absorb well. It is better to eat kale and other dark green leafy vegetables. I had a fracture which would not heel and took all the calcium pills which I think just went right through me.
      We are designed to eat plants. Kale healed my ankle and I had pain from that ankle nearly two years. Kale daily for a month, it was well.
      My mother died from brittle bone, I do not intend for that to be me. She fell and her femur shattered like it was glass. Six months after the fracture she was dead. She had had breast cancer also and so did my sister, which was likely from the casein protein in milk. This led to the death of my mother and sister.
      The calcium in almond milk or in soy is so much better absorbed and it will not give you cancer and keeps your bone strong.
      My parents were German and Norwegian. I do far better without any dairy at all. Dairy was the cause of my husband's Prostate cancer.
      Does cancer sound healthy to you?

    Doctor...Please don’t concern yourself with negative comments... You’ve worked with people for YEARS, you’ve seen much more than MOST of us! You know what you’re taking about. Your messages are being heard and will reach the right people! The people who have illness. Keep up the GREAT work!
    After I reached the age of 50, I began to experience joints aching. It felt like what I believe arthritis would feel like...(aching). Since I was in my 50s, my first thought was that I’m just getting older and arthritis was a normal part of aging. I later began NOT to accept that and I was determined to get down to the root cause. I researched and later learned from OTHER physicians and health care professionals that dairy can cause inflammation. I was consuming dairy at home and milk based coffee drinks at least 2-3 days per week at work. So I listened to what I hear from practitioners about diet, related health conditions, and the dangers of dairy. I stopped dairy completely. The aching disappeared and hasn’t returned. It is 100% GONE. I literally forgot all about it! It’s all gone. So it was not arthritis, it was dairy. Dairy gone...pain gone! And it only took 5 days for this aching to stop after eliminating dairy. Now I notice that if I do experience any beginning joint soreness, I look at what I ate the previous day or two. I always discover some hidden dairy included in something I ate....THE DOCTOR IS RIGHT!

My first year in college, I had a professor say to me, "Don't believe what you think." And that phrase has stayed with me to this day. Many people have a hard time accepting that what they believed their whole life is a lie, or untrue. And they will do and say anything to perpetuate the falsehood which is sad. It's become a part of the social media's darker side of misinformation and misleading truths. Case in point, Donald Trump, Fox News and Ketosis Diets. Keep up the great work, Dr. Mills. Looking forward to your book that explains the physiology of we plant-based eaters....Random Question: How much of our evolutionary diet included insect protein? That would be interesting to know. And for Plant Based News, do you advocate or have any information on the nutritional value of insects, which types might be appropriate to enhance vegan diets? Very informative channel, btw. I am a descendant of Europeans and I am lactose intolerant and boy did dairy give me problems: chronic constipation, later in life arthritis which could put me in a wheelchair. Without dairy and using plant-based milk and eating kale, I was able to heal a bone fracture that all the calcium pills would not touch. Plant-based heals but you have to be learning all the time as I was not raised vegan though I now am.
    My husband was an avid dairy user and when I got off of it, he saw me heal my arthritis, my asthma. He had terrible asthma and he got Prostate Cancer! Dairy has estrogen in it which is the reason it targets the human breast as well as the prostate. The protein in dairy, casein, was used to show how cancer could be turned on and off during the China Study. My husband would have likely not have had his cancer if he had gone on plant-based milks. Well, he's on them now and finally he understands that once you have had cancer, you are more likely to get it again. He does not want any more surgeries. This was a dreadfully painful surgery but he came out cancer free. He is still incontinent 2 years later. Does this make dairy look attractive? Plant-based milks taste good, there is even plant-based ice cream and cheese not that one should use these very often. But they won't give you cancer! With getting off of milk, my husband no longer has high blood pressure so high he needs meds, he no longer used his inhaler or nebulizer as he no longer has asthma. So there is nothing in milk that is good you can't get elsewhere and without making you sick.
    Love listening to Dr. Mills.

    Well said, Dr. Mills. Thank you so much! I became a vegetarian over 40 years ago because I thought it was the healthiest way to eat. I became a vegan about 21 years ago because I thought it was the most compassionate way to eat. Then I discovered that it was the best diet for my health & for the environment as well. When I became vegan, I was ashamed that it took me so long to get there.

    Awesome! Thank you for your ongoing informative expertise. Can anyone understand why vegans have to spend most of their time defending themselves about being vegan?
    There allot of very aggressive meat eaters on RUclips doing everything in their power to debunk anything plant based. I don’t get it.

    I thought it a bit much to call some one a racist because they are ignorant of diet and nutrition and its affect on our bodies. Other than that I agree 110%.

    I wonder who came up with the idea of milking a cow and what he really thought he was doing with that cow??? Lol

      He's wrong.. Milking cows was widespread and pretty much world wide by 4000 BC. That's 6000 years ago! Dont take my word for it! Do a simple research! Were they all white people ? No! But dont take my word for it and certainly not the word of someone who can show you numbers of lactose intolerance and apparently say other numbers while making some up. I guess thats why he never gave the sources! Btw, someone posted what those number were based on. Based on research from 1965-1977. Highly valid science right ???
      Even the sources of the copy past he gave have not been possible to access in the last 15 years... He could not even verify that information before posting it.

      FreakAzoidFF FFDataBank 3:30 "as old as 6000 years ago" he did say so I don't know what your point is, you sound quite knowledgeable so you might have missed him saying it!

    The Hate comments from flesh eaters is a sign they know they're sunk... too defensive. This video is a wonderful response to the flesh eaters who are highly programmed and poisoned with animal hormones. I ate meat for the first 20 yrs of my life and there is a big difference in quality of life as a vegan.

    I have been a vegan for two years, mainly for ethical and environmental reasons but also for health reasons. However, after watching "What the Health" I did some research. Many of the claims are true, like the animal agriculture industry sponsoring certain health organizations, but when I went to the WHO website, I found some interesting information about processed meat being in the Group A carcinogenic category along with cigarettes, but it also clearly states the following:
    "Processed meat has been classified in the same category as causes of cancer such as tobacco smoking and asbestos (IARC Group 1, carcinogenic to humans), but this does NOT mean that they are all equally dangerous. The IARC classifications describe the strength of the scientific evidence about an agent being a cause of cancer, rather than assessing the level of risk."
    It also gives examples of how many people die per year from tobacco and how many from cancer related to processed meat, and the number of those who die from meat related cancer is only a fraction of those who die from tobacco related cancer. It is clear that even though meat is unhealthy, it is NOT on par with the dangers of tobacco smoke, as this documentary claims. The maker of this documentary did the same in Cowspiracy by claiming animal agriculture accounts for 51% of greenhouse gas emissions, when most if not all climate change scientists agree the number is closer to 20% (which is still a large number). I believe misstating and exaggerating the facts to get people to go vegan does a real disservice to the entire vegan movement, especially since it is so easy for people to research the facts themselves by going to the WHO website and finding that eating a piece of meat is NOT the same as smoking several cigarettes. I don't think Kip Anderson and company intentionally lie to deceive the public, but I do think he gets a bit too excited and doesn't research deeply enough before launching these documentaries, and eventually the truth comes back to bite him in the ass and then people think ALL claims about the benefits of being a vegan are false, which they are not. Regardless, there are still a million reasons to go vegan, for the respect of sentient beings, for the planet and for our bodies, and it is not necessary to inflate numbers and facts to get that point across.
