I loved that you caught nearly all the "devil" appearances throughout the movie! On my first watch I only noticed the ones toward the end. It wasn't until the second watch that I caught all the other ones! I also liked the fact the movie was actually fully supernatural and not focused on perfectly logical explanations to Longlegs' actions. It contributed to the atmosphere for me. I personally think the ending is quite open in the sense that Lee has some choices: 1-) From what Ruth explains, Lee and herself would be spared under the condition she would carry out Longlegs' work. Finding a way to destroy the doll and keeping Ruby alive goes against Ruth's deal and then I think Lee would probably be killed? 2-) Keeping the doll intact (and Ruby under the "spell") means Lee will be in her mother's shoes quite literally and find a way to continue the devil's work 3-) She can kill Ruby and just continue the devil's work I think in any case, I like that the movie does not give a definitive answer to what happens to them, but it gives you enough to assume that there will be no happy ending out of this situation. It's bleak and hopeless in a way that I personally enjoyed. Always love watching your reactions and commentary to movies! Take care! :)
Arcadian is another horror movie that released this year with Nic Cage, I definitely recommend checking that one out too. Longlegs was for sure a great experience when I went to the theaters with my friends. The twist was pretty obvious to me, but the overall performances in this movie are great.
She only fired 3 shots so if the devil can stop her firing her gun than the devil could have done that anytime before that but every little thing in the movie was what the devil wanted from her knowing which house in the begininng to longlegs being caught at a bus stop when he owned a car Oz perkins said this story started when he heard police found a brand new life size replica doll of jonbenet ramsey in a box in her basement wearing her clothes . The same basement the girl was found strangled in 30+ years later we still dont know what happened in that house .
