i think maddy telling owen "the longer you wait, the closer you'll get to suffocating" and the fact that they potrayed this through his asthma was really effective and just, incredible. as a trans person myself its very relatable too, feeling like life is just passing by whilst a vital part of who you are just suffocates inside of you. like, you see that the more he supresses himself its almost as if its manifesting physically, as if he's literally wasting away. overall this movie was absolutely devastating but its also a very unique kind of representation too, it describes the experience in such a different way from a lot of other forms of media

Okay! when I watch a new movie I always give it fifteen minutes, if I am not engaged I stop the film because my mind goes elsewhere ! this was one of them, now! Nice review, good movie the comedy was great! but I did not feel any sympathy for her, shacking and doing what she does is a one way ticket to reckless behavior. Strippers, slash hooking too! it is so degrading, I mean what did she expect, she only married him for the moula$$$ doing nothing all day, but let her abuse her in every way possible, she had the choice for a better lifestyle.

After first viewing the film, I was trying to understand how it all fit together, especially after the twist at the end. But after watching a few more times, it seems less important to explain or understand the film but rather just experience it and relate to what Adam is feeling. Although the romance is between a gay couple, the theme goes beyond one's sexual orientation. The gay sex scenes, could have been omitted, just as sex scenes among straight couples could often be deleted in films without affecting the movie. The captivating scenes are where Adam is able to fantasize about meeting his parents after losing them decades prior. Not going back in time but revisiting his childhood home and having personal family conversations to provide some closure that is long overdue. His reliving childhood memories as an adult, he can process things he was feeling but unable to express as a child. Being an only child probably made the situation even more challenging over the years. Being bullied at a young age left him lonely which followed him into adult life as a writer. By contrast, his neighbor is of a younger generation. He still has his family and siblings, yet he is also lonely and feels like an outsider. The conversations between the two is quite revealing. Adam has avoided intimacy due to his fear of contracts Aids in his younger years. Harry grew up at a different time when Aids was less of a threat. Even so, both neighbors are without partners and have few close friends. Harry explains how even though his family knows he is gay, they don't embrace it. His siblings are in the spotlight and he is in the shadows. He feels like an outsider and avoids his family. The scenes of Adam reconnecting with his family are really touching as they provide the therapy he needs to heal. And the conversations he has with his neighbor finally allow him to connect with another person who can relate to his situation. Even though these experiences are fantasies he has created in his mind, I the end they have helped Adam find peace. All of us are strangers, until we get to know each other and realize we all have a need to connect.

I think Minato and Yuri are dead in that train and them getting out of it and running in the sun towards the old train binary bridge is so poetic and it reminded me about Miyazaki' movie, expecially Spirited Away. This is an incredible and moving movie 😭❤

This movie has nothing to do with climate change, it's about blissful ignorance and greed and arrogance. It's about allowing algorithms to dictate decisions regarding people lives, about ego centric people and just because they have power or money they know what best when they have no regard for anyone but themselves. That people have lost the ability to reason and think critically. That technology has become a distraction... "The Day After Tomorrow" that's a climate movie. I don't understand I how people misconstrued that this was about climate change when it truly about people losing their ability to appreciate or even understand reason and putting faith in the wrong things and people.

7:40 : In the original first episode, only one ball exploded and Powder pocketed like 6 others. In the frame of powder holding Violet, she’s only got 3 or 4 of the unstable gems in her hand, meaning multiple exploded in this timeline and the explosion was much bigger and killed Vi. Also, I really love how perceptive you are! Immediately noticing parallels (like the shot of Jinx/Powders boots from episode 4), etc.

Mister Albert's actor, Donald Glover iirc, he got hated on by people who couldn't distinguish him from the role vs real life. He had a difficult time, mentally, playing the role. In the seperation scene between the sisters, they were told to cling onto each other and never let go (something along those lines) so a lot of the scene was improvised on the spot.

This movie... I watched this so young I thought it was a dream. Even with the heavy themes, this is forever a childhood favorite of mine. It taught me about life and helped me stay connected to my black heritage.

Just so you know, Heimerdinger said he was there for 1128 days which is roughly about 3 years.
