I feel like Tom's entire career is just one long, running joke at his mom's expense. Like, the money, the fame, all lovely, but for Tom, it's all about making Charo insanely uncomfortable.
I mean she probably really didn't approve of his decision to become a comedian (as opposed to a steadier career) so him becoming so successful must be quite annoying :)

Watch more comedy. Watching a shit ton of stand up comedy, and cute puppy shit really helps with my chronic PTSD. It takes you away to a place with almost no triggers. No bullshit. Find your place, it's there. With less triggers, you can take the time needed, undistracted, to learn new techniques to heal/deal. You will be less tightly wound, giving you the opportunity to start the work you need to do.

I remember when I was a teenager and me and my boy were in the living room watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and my Mom came in and watched for about 10 minutes or so. She kept laughing and saying "that's not funny." I think she felt guilty about laughing at such crude humor, but she was laughing even though she was attempting to hold it back.
