That is the best demonstration I have seen to date, I thought the receiver was Ethernet connection only, but you used your phone that showed it was Wi-Fi out, thank you so much I will now purchase one.
Brilliant! I was trying to extend the WiFi to a building on a different mains supply, so it wasn’t working (no shared power lines). I never thought of simply using a mains extender cable until I saw this. So simple. Thanks!
Thank fk I found your vid..all the others made it sound complicated by doing it on a laptop which went over my head..the mobile phone set up was so much easier to understand..I'm a 57yo techno thicko..thanx bud
How can I allows devices to switch seamlessly between the Powerline adapter and the router without manual intervention? My powerline is on the ground floor and router on the first floor.
All my extenders have a unique SSID and my phone just switches automatically as needed. If all my SSIDs are the same, then the auto switching is unreliable
Yep, do it at your own risk. Also, read the small print on any device or appliance documentation, and you will find a line that suggests that it is inadvisable to use an extension cord on anything. Kettles, TVs, Phone chargers, Lamps, Fridges, etc, and even extension cords themselves. It's an insurance company get out clause and you will find lots of them in the small print. Maybe your beloved leader will ban extension cords one day, under the pretext that they can access the electricity network in your own home.
log onto the extender using the extenders password, then you choose from a list of WIFI signals that it can detect, you choose one, and if you enter the passwor correctly, it is now extended an extra 10 meters or so.
My router is in my basement and my gaming set up is upstairs. Even with 150 mbps speed i only get around 30 mbps with my wifi. If i put this upstairs and connect it to my computer will this work?
provided that the floors in your house are on the same consumer unit then it should work fine. no guarantee though, id have to be there to check, you will just have to try it.
No. You have to log on to the extender to configure which network it will extend. It doesn’t know which SSID it should connect to, or even what the password is until you tell it.
Its as good as wifi in the house. Except i have to restart the device every couple if days since it crashes. I blame websites that think they have a right to port scan.
Yes, proof is in the video. There is that strip plugged into the mains, and 20 meters of extension going out a socket at the back of the house. Its all in the video.
I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean, can you have multiple TL-WPA4220 plugged in throughout your house, all configure to point to the one TL-PA4010, then yes.
yes. there is an ethernet port on the larger device (TL-WPA4220) that you can plug a cable form your pc into. no wifi required. I do this on m current pc. The smaller device (TL-PA4010) is connected to my router in other part of house, also using an ethernet cable.
Plug it in and configure it closer to the router you want to extend, then after you’ve verified it works, plug it in further away to extend the network. But not to far that itself can't connect to the router anymore.
The password is written on a sticker on the larger device that i just plugged in. Once it is connected you also have the option to change it so it broadcasts your existing wifi SSID instead. And then you use your current wifi network password. That is optional and i didn’t do that step in this video. My phone auto connects and remembers configs for the nearest wifi emitter anyway.
haha sorry.. did anyone ever tell you that electricity and water dont mix? Pissing down with rain on that extension recipe for disaster mate!! Hop you dont have kids playing out there potentially your whole garden could have 240v. Not a bad vid apart from the obvious death trap you have created.
my favourite bit was when he showed us how to set it up, as mentioned in the description
That is the best demonstration I have seen to date, I thought the receiver was Ethernet connection only, but you used your phone that showed it was Wi-Fi out, thank you so much I will now purchase one.
Thanks so much! Beautiful garden and beautiful cat!

You have a very nice garden 😊
My guy thank you I’ve watched bare videos on thsi and none have worked. Yours worked first time
Thank you very much. Great video :-) :-) :-)

I thought it's advised not to use extension cords for this?

My wifi dongle/stick under my Sunsynk inverter will not give me a green light ! Occasionally it will flash green. Please help!
Hi does the tp-link password same as the password on the router? Cos when I type the routers WiFi password it says error. Thanks
log onto the extender using the extenders password, then you choose from a list of WIFI signals that it can detect, you choose one, and if you enter the passwor correctly, it is now extended an extra 10 meters or so.
@@sbcode no worries I found it on device, thanks
Didn't you have to pair the extender next to the other plug to start? Thanks
no. they figure it out them selves.
My router is in my basement and my gaming set up is upstairs. Even with 150 mbps speed i only get around 30 mbps with my wifi. If i put this upstairs and connect it to my computer will this work?

Mike it s not pared automatically, not working like this 😢
Pour la connexion wifi on garde toujours le même mot de passe ?
I usually do
Should I turn off the tp link when we're not using it. Does it save battery?
i have many, i leave them all on 24 hours a day
Hello. do u know the size of these cables? i need to buy new ones
TOP 🙌
So route and tp link password is not the same than?
No. You have to log on to the extender to configure which network it will extend. It doesn’t know which SSID it should connect to, or even what the password is until you tell it.
Hi! Does it seem like a fast connection in the shed?
Its as good as wifi in the house. Except i have to restart the device every couple if days since it crashes. I blame websites that think they have a right to port scan.
@@sbcode Thanks for that. My shed is 28M away from my router, do you think it will work?
Yes, if the power socket is the same electricity supply as your house.
Will it still work properly if you plug it in a strip like that?
Yes, proof is in the video. There is that strip plugged into the mains, and 20 meters of extension going out a socket at the back of the house. Its all in the video.
Not generally recommended
It's best to plug it directly into the wall socket. A power strip is a bad idea, yes it might work but it's no good.
Does this work across different consumer units?
I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean, can you have multiple TL-WPA4220 plugged in throughout your house, all configure to point to the one TL-PA4010, then yes.
@@sbcode sorry I meant different electric wiring in one house
Ok, I understand now. You'd have to try. I have 1 consumer unit with different circuits upstairs and down and it works.
@@sbcode okay thanks for the response my extender is arriving today
Im curious, did it end up working through the extra consumer unit?
Can anyone tell me how long is that cable?
2 * 10m extensions
@@sbcode 10 meters, wow! That is pretty good, guess I can use it in through my room, thank you.
20 meters from outside of house to shed. 20 meters from inside house socket to outside socket. 40 meters total.
Can I plug this into my pc that doesn't have any wifi set up? If I do this and plug it into my pc, will I be able to access my router wifi?
yes. there is an ethernet port on the larger device (TL-WPA4220) that you can plug a cable form your pc into. no wifi required. I do this on m current pc. The smaller device (TL-PA4010) is connected to my router in other part of house, also using an ethernet cable.

Thats what i do in the video
Can’t find on my phone 1:43
Because it was setup before, you have to pair them
cat shoullda said "Simples"
Mine says no internet connection

i mean its ok device for me.
Hola alguien habla español?
Poor speed compared with router

Gee, thanks for the essay. Good luck
