Uk Thrills I also think that, unlike Carolina Cyclone, Canyon Blaster is one of two coasters at Adventuredome, while Carowinds has over 10 coasters, so Adventuredome can focus more on keeping this ride in good condition, while Carowinds has Fury, Intimidator, and Afterburn to worry about
I agree, I know many weren't around when many of the Arrows were first opened, but they all used to be this smooth. It was only certain transitions that were the rough part. Now many of the arrows feel like wood coasters since days. In the other point of view video you can even hear as it leaves the station that it more glides than rolls. Given arrow isn't around and I am sure the parts company that keeps them alive cant keep going forever, eventually the arrows will start closing one after another. Even the icons. Kings Island is proof. Enjoy the arrows while they last.
Riley Berge maybe they’ll reintroduce the custom loopers, make them the same way they did with Tennessee tornado. They have the blueprints and they make the parts for those rides.
Ryan Frieman , it's a really good ride. I am just happy to hear that it seems to be as good as it was when I was last on it (over 15 years ago!) Next time in Vegas I will definitely try to go on it again.
Probably one of the reasons this is one of the better Arrow custom loopers out there is the fact that it is indoors. It's been protected from the elements throughout it's operational life.
If I ever design a Roller Coaster, I wish to build something like this. Not like low stats with good experience, though I would have to build a few like that, but something that winds throughout the park, simultaneously bringing more kinetic motion to many bits of the park, and showcases the park to the riders.
Man! I went two times to this park, once in 2018 and once in 2020. This was my first looping coaster i’ve ever done and probably my first actually intense ride. This blew me away by a million miles cuz it was so intense. Every time I went to this park, I would lap this and el loco nonstop for hours. Love this ride, definitely recommend it!
Just a good, solid ride. Now those are the types if rides I love. Those that may not be the tallest, or fastest but just the ones that make you wanna go back in line constantly. Jorris en de draak, Jetline, Piraten, Lynet, The Smiler, Thundercoaster! I'm certain this would end up there too
Honestly my favorite coaster in vegas. Intense and zippy. Lived here for 6 years and I still love it. I do agree you need to hold your head forward on that transition from the second loop to the first corkscrew. If you can get past that, it's a wonderful ride.
Great Review! I rode this 10 years ago when I was short enough to bang my ears against the restraint, and I was too young to appreciate what the ride has to offer. So I definitely need to go back!
Capital Thrills True that. But what also might be the case for this ride is that it is so compact.Arrow's traditional standardized track profiling just so happens to be ideal for handling the forces and transitions inherent in the smaller and more compact design. As the older Arrow Coasters scale up, those funky transitions and standard loop sizes become all the more noticable and harsh.
Having lived in Vegas my whole life, I can say I’ve been on this ride many times and it NEVER gets old. I’m 6’4” so I 100% agree sitting in the front is the way to go and still I have to twist and turn my knees lol. NY NY coaster feels like getting in a car crash, so this beats it by a mile. Still my favorite is the now closed Desperado hyper coaster in the front seat. Terrifying, rough, but amazing speed, G-forces, and truly truly epic ejector airtime on three camelback drops in the middle.
Just went to Adventuredome today and really enjoyed this ride! You hit the nail on the head about everything, although I didn't grey out on after the double loop but loved the airtime there. It's crazy how intense the ride is up front in the second half, I had tears in my eyes too! The forces in the back are the best though, but honestly I couldn't pick a favorite between front and back, they both had something unique to offer.
I love Canyon Blaster. I am impressed to hear you give a positive review of an Arrow ride. Many new enthusiasts throw down so much hate toward these classic rides. Thank you for an awesome review.
I just visited the AdventureDome and I definitely liked Canyon Blaster better than El Loco, as I really liked the pacing. Also el loco had a very nasty jolt on the first dive loop, so it really took me out of the moment.
I remember riding this coaster when I was a kid (maybe 12?) and it was very good. I had been on other Arrow Coasters at that point (most notably the The Demon at Six Flags Great America) and unlike those, I do not recall any headbanging on Canyon Blaster whatsoever. This is fun coaster that you can ride over and over again and last time I was there I got maybe 8 rides in an hours. Considering you rated this coaster 9 out of 10, I am assuming it is still a very smooth ride which just goes to show Arrow produced some really good coasters.
I've been in Vegas since 2004 and still haven't gone on this. It's closed a good chunk of the time. Or it was when I went to the dome in high school. Been over 10 years since then though. They could've fixed whatever needed to be done.
I remembered when I first rode this I was instantly hook last summer vacation when I went to Vegas (because me and my family go every year ) it was so much fun I marathon the heck out of this I ride this so many times that the ride ops were like when are you gonna get off she look so surprised 😂
Dosware Pictures Well, I don’t wanna shamelessly plug myself on someone else’s video, but since you asked... I make a web series about theme parks! The name came both from the idea that if Disneyland had failed as a theme park, Walt’s plan B was to turn the park into a backlot. And it’s all shot on location at various theme parks.
Graying out on this is most likely not due to high forces but due to sustained forces. With the two successive loops you get quite a bit of force for a longer period of time.
I rode this a few weeks ago and did not expect it to be that good. The only other Arrow looper I've ridden is Viper, but I'll take Canyon Blaster over Viper any day
I don't know if this is just the back row but the one time I've been on this it was in the back row going down the very first drop I got amazing floater
This ride is cool but it quite ruff and the over the shoulder restraints dont help. The ruff areas are the transition after the second loop, another after the corkscrew and during the helix. It like viper at magic mountain but a little smoother
You should re-ride viper at sfmm in the front, it runs soooo much better now. Also, they lowered the OTSR's so if your over 5'8 or 5'9 your head clears the restraints so if you brace for the jerky moments it doesn't hurt at all.
I honestly didn't have any problems with the Trains on Canyon Blaster. They ride so much better than your typical Arrow Dynamics Trains like found on the Corkscrew at Cedar Point. I also think of the fact Canyon Blaster doesn't have the overtrack arch supports, allowing the track to flex more. If Cedar Point were to redesign the loop, double Corkscrew, and have the same Trains on Canyon Blaster. It too would be a smoother ride experience.
I just rode this ride today 3 times. I don’t know what happened in the three years since this review came out. But I found the ride to be very rough and it took away from the experience
I liked Canyon Blaster best when it first opened and still had the T-rex animatronic after the loops that roared at the cars. Just a fun bit of theming.
My husband loved it. I however am about 5'2" and had an incredibly headbanging experience. I definitely should have removed my earnings, the restraints sat right at my ears and the head banging into the restraints ended up bending the posts on my earrings
The vehicles are the same as the one that Drachen Fire at Busch Gardens Williamsburg had back in the day. And they were built around the same time, but Drachen Fire did open in 1992, and obviously this one 1993.
Oldie , but not bad at all. I enjoyed it more than el loco. If you do one of the few coasters in Vegas, this is the one to do. Avoid Pain: the ride at New York -New York (Manhattan express). I wish speed the ride would make a comeback somewhere here in Vegas as well
Wow, I was definitely not expecting that score! I went to Vegas once, but I didn't go to Adventuredome, now I regret that I preferred to ride the Manhattan Express over Canyon Blaster
After the second loop, when you go up into that turn before we did the transition I got a sharp pop of ejector airtime, does this happen to anybody else?
Who would have thought that a 26 year old coaster located at the worst hotel in all of Vegas would be such an amazing ride? I rode this a whopping 15 times consecutively, one of the longest marathons I ever had on a single roller coaster. Why? Because this is just that good of a ride.
I think I wanna return to Las Vegas and give this a second chance. When I rode this I came off with a pretty brutal headache. But that was probably cause i rode this when I was 7 and the OTS restraints were literally next to my head at the time.
I’ve always noticed this with Arrow looping coasters but does anyone know why that the wheel assemblies on the arrow trains don’t fully contact the track?
It's just due to the time period it was in. There wasn't really any way to get wheels to perfectly conform to the track yet without breaking the bank, as well as the track being formed by hand making the ride more unpredictable, hence why no arrows grip the rails. Some modern day coasters still do this, all GCI coasters and even RMC's don't perfectly grip the rails, just how the coaster is built.
I reckon the reason it's so smooth because of the fact its located indoors so it hasn't been subjected to weather - so it's easier to maintain (maybe)

Honestly think this is a VERY underrated coaster. One of the better Arrow Loopers out there.
My favorites are Tennessee Tornado, this, Loch Ness Monster, and Dragon Mountain.
I agree. I don't think some Arrow Dynamics custom loopers are talked about enough
“5’11 if you count the hair”🤣 Man that was funny Taylor!
hahaha
Was just about to comment this!
"5'11 if you count the hair" - Taylor Bybee 2019 :D
yes I am very funny
When you're going through those tunnels, I think you can actually touch the rockwork if you want to. It's insane how close you come to the rocks.

Earl Larrabee wow 😳 Thats impressive!
Arrow Dynamics did something right here ✌✌✌ Arrow custom loopers in general are very intense
Tony Kim Arrow was always right
@@seaworldfan2421 Yeet, if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have these roller coasters that we have today.

This is a really solid review. You know what you're talking about
I just rode canyon blaster yesterday 8 times and I have to say that most of what Taylor said in this review is 100% accurate
Probably one of the reasons this is one of the better Arrow custom loopers out there is the fact that it is indoors. It's been protected from the elements throughout it's operational life.

Hey Taylor, you forgot to mention that one ejector hill after the double loop.
Exactly that in my opinion is the best part of the ride
He may have forgotten to mention it since he stated he kept greying out during that section 😂
Got to ride it earlier this year. Gotta say, was fairly impressed! I also grayed out heavily after that second loop.
I like it. It is fairly smooth and is probably the best coaster in Vegas. I would have said speed before it closed
Great Review! I rode this 10 years ago when I was short enough to bang my ears against the restraint, and I was too young to appreciate what the ride has to offer. So I definitely need to go back!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLOR!
It is unfortunate that Arrow didn't get to stick around when they were getting good with their track profiling

This was my first ever looping coaster. :)
Absolutely loved it though!!
Happy Birthday Taylor!
That transition after the double loop gives great airtime. Especially in the back.
This was my first coaster with inversions ( ride at 8 years old) and this thing was AMAZING!
Happy birthday and congrats on 150K!
I rode it back in 2007 and it was fantastic! Favorite coaster in Vegas, along with the now defunt Speed: The Ride
Is the layout the same as python at Efteling?, it sure looks like it.
Nope, Canyon Blaster has a custom layout - but I'm in no doubt that they're similar
The first turn out of the station is mirrored, and the helix at the end isn’t the same but beyond that they follow almost the exact same course.
Not gonna lie, this is the only coaster that gets me seeing stars every time I ride it. I love it!
Never heard this praised so much before. Love it when a new coaster arrives on my to-do radar.
happy birthday Taylor!
This looks insane compared to the one at my home park, Great Escape.
Dosware Pictures canyon blaster

Canyon blaster is good but Vegas needs a major modern coaster. Too many coasters from the 90s other than El Loco

Just rode this for the first time on Monday the 11th. It was pretty awesome! I really like El Loco as well.
What do you know, just reloaded my RUclips and I saw this. Great job man.
This was my first roller coaster
Congratulations On 150k!

Viper sfmm: am I a joke to you
I boarded the coaster without having seen the corkscrew. It was a nice surprise.
It’s a lot like Space Mountain: the layout itself isn’t special, but the environment surrounding makes it awesome!
I’m going to Vegas next month. I’m gonna have to check this out!!!
The website says it’s 55mph but google says it’s 41. Which one do u think is right?
I wouldn’t be surprised if it is faster
I grey every time in that spot on any Arrow looper. Double loops pull g’s!
Just rode it today. Definitely packs a punch!!!
