I was thinking that you would put X2 next to or close to Goliath but now that I am typing this I am remembering that the ride has decent theming but X doesn't really have to do with an arrow 4d coaster (unless you take in account the fact of x being for extreme)
Always liked the simplicity of a lot of names in the SeaWorld chain. Mako, Emperor, Kumba, Tempesto. Meanwhile Six Flags has names like "Gotham City Gauntlet Coaster: Escape from Arkham Asylum: The Ride"
Raging Bull is a better name than than El Toro. Just as Fury slightly references the city's basketball team, so does Raging Bull. Kingda Ka is a pretty cool name for the king of all stratacoasters. Rattler / Iron Rattler is a nice double meaning. Rock'n'rollercoaster. Hakugei. Son of Beast. You should also do a video for best renames during Halloween.
My main reason for wanting to go to Japan is to ride the Eejanaika. And take a ride on the Dododompa while at the park. It's like going to Magic Mountain: X is running...nothing else matters. But I'll take a ride on the Riddler's Revenge while I'm there, and Tatsu if I have time. And another run on the X.
What? Boomerang: Coast To Coaster is the best boomerang name, but InvadR should be swapped with Boomerang, a classic name, but not as classic as Boomerang or Boomerang
@@richardbagley3139 no, InvadR isn't that great of a name. I think Boomerang, which for some reason didn't make the list, should be #10 instead of invadR.
The best coaster name in the entire world is Roller Coaster for sure. Lil Phantom comes in a close second tho considering the name sounds like an intimidating rapper.
Steel Eel has a really cool name. The last hills and turns resemble an eel, it's steel, it rhymes, it's intimidating, it fits the SeaWorld theme, and saying it really fast is really fun. Just say SteelEel really fast out loud, and you'll know what I mean.
I think the Name Great Nor Easter is a perfect fit for the SLC on the Morey's Piers Boardwalk, since its referring to Super Storm Sandy, Which hit the Jersey Shore in 2012, so I thought that was a great fit for one of the SLCs we have today
Apollo’s Chariot for sure the rides themed to the god Apollo riding his chariot off into the sun which is fitting for a B&M Hyper. And Phantoms Revenge and Alpengeist
The smiler, the swarm, saw, stealth, hero (although not a very good ride), we normally just call nemesis inferno, simply inferno because nemesis was added just for marketing purposes. The Ultimate? But we all know that the best ride name is ‘corkscrew’ or ‘boomerang’.
I'm kind of surprised to not see Raging Bull on this list. It sounds intimidating, fits well with the Western theme, and the layout twists and turns like a raging bull would. Not to mention it fits perfectly being near Chicago with the Chicago Bulls.
Aftershock is a good name #1 is perfect. A coaster named after diarrhea from drinking Mexican water. How fitting and I've had it and it sucks. I had ice cubes once and that's all it took
With Deja Vu, it fit especially well if you visited other parks in the chain. Because the exact same ride was at Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Over Georgia from 2001-2007.

OMG, how could you forget the legendary Voyage. It makes perfect sense. It takes you on a literal voyage through the woods, its in the thanksgiving section, it symbolizes the pilgrims on the Mayflower, and it sounds good. "The Voyage"
Tatsu is a really good name, especially the way the ride staff pronounce it. It's a very exotic name that perfectly fits this exotic coaster model. Hangtime is also a really good name because it perfectly encapsulates the ride experience. First you hang for several seconds at the top of the drop and then you get a lot of hangtime at the top of all of the inversions.
I absolutely approve of nemesis and oblivion being featured. I can think of one outstanding European ride with a unique name worth a mention: Baron 1898. Efteling's amazingly themed dive coaster.
Hyperion at Energylandia should have been on there. It is one of the Titans in Greek Mythology. This fits a massive coaster perfectly. In addition, Hyperion is also a Sci-Fi Novel, this fits the Theme of the Coaster. And I can't be the only one who noticed that a Hyper coaster has Hyper in it's name.
I've really come to appreciate The Great Bear lately. It's mysterious and unorthodox and conveys grandeur without agression, perfect for the coaster it's attached to. But here's what seals the deal: Another name for the constellation The Great Bear? The Big Dipper.
A lot of great names, some other ones I like are: Mako, Diamondback, Viper, Phantom’s Revenge, The Ultimate, Hades (before Hades 360), Outlaw, Colossus, El Toro, and Big Bad Wolf.
@@AirtimeThrills So at the park, they say that "Kumba" is Swahili for "roar," which would be cool if it were true, but it's not. "Roar" in Swahili is "kishindo." However, there are other great names. Tigris is a Sky Rocket II themed to the tiger, but it's also the name of a large and important river in Mesopotamia. Then there's Cheetah Hunt, which is a more boring sounding name but fits perfectly because the ride, an Intamin Blitz coaster, is designed to mimic the cheetah running through the savanna. I‘ve always loved Phantoms Revenge, not just because it’s a great name by itself, but the reference to the Steel Phantom it replaced is a great tie-in.
My favorite ride name is Riddler's Revenge it just sounds cool man especially when it's put in the Gotham City area of a Six Flags park sounds like he's actually getting revenge on Batman
One of my favorites is "Do-Dodonpa". Named after the sound of the taiko drums being played around the queue station. They're a staple in Japanese culture in a park that celebrates it, being named after the mountain that's easily viewed from the park - Mt. Fuji. Candymonium is a great coaster name. It describes what having a sugar rush is like, just like the buzz you might get from eating all the candy you will no doubt consume at Hersheypark. Perfect for a hypercoaster... and what happens when you have a sugar rush? You get hyper. :) Plus it's just so fun to say. I also like Skyrush as a name, it sounds exhilarating. I also *really* like that the moment those two coasters cross paths is known as 'Candyrush'. Who the heck doesn't wanna go on a candyrush?
I’m surprised no one mentioned Top Thrill Dragster. Pun of top fuel dragster, it’s fast and accelerates like one, and ‘top’ works because it was once the world’s tallest coaster. And for good measure Kingda Ka is a good name too. Fitting for the tallest coaster in the world.
Trailblazer also has the meaning of someone doing something new or innovative in an industry, which tacks on a few more meanings to Railblazer. It's not only built in silicon valley, which is famous for its culture of innovation, but it was also (basically tied for being) the trailblazer of a new coaster model.
Phoenix at Knoebels. While the name is simple it perfectly fits the story of the now 73 year old rollercoaster being saved from the scrapyard and its massive undertaking to rebuild it at Knoebels. And helped set off a new movement to restore and relocate other standing but not operating rollercoasters.
Superman: Ultimate Flight at SFDK should’ve made the list since it replaced Tony Hawk’s Big Spin, and Superman by Goldfinger was one of the most iconic songs from the first Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game.
A favorite of mine is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. 1 the play on words of rock and roll and roller coaster, 2 Starring Aerosmith is foreshadowing of the concert aspect happening in the ride.
Dueling Dragons will always top my list. The OG theming was on point and that name is absolutely perfect. I also love Tatsu. It means "flying lizard" which is a great theme for a massive b&m flyer and fits right in to Samurai Summit. Although it might just be my bias for how the ops say it. "have a good ride on TAAAATSOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOO"
Actually, high roller is a smart name in 3 ways rather than 2. High for the height, roller for the fact that it's a Rollercoaster and high roller as in the gaming term. With it being in Vegas too, I would definitely put it in the top 10 for best names. That being said, I really enjoyed the list and I like the original idea :)
I got some best name from La Ronde: 1- Goliath : yes, the name is use for a lot a Six Flags Park, but the Goliath is the biggest roller coaster in the park and, for a while, the biggest in Canada. Le Vampire: it's a Batman clone, but La Ronde don't use DC proprities for their coaster, so using the vampire theme was great! La Pitoune: this Arrow Dynamic log flume was the term used by the woods driver to Talk about the log. (Sorry for my english, I'm not the best)
The name of the ride was going to be Shot Rod, a play off of "Hot Rod" which fits the theme of the area really well and the fact that it was a launch coaster (meaning you get shot out), but there was a lot of gun violence in the country right before they announced the name so they decided to change it at the last minute.
@@jeffc1347 Oh rly, I didn't know that. Well Lightning Rod sounds cooler imo. Plus, lightning kinda goes with the theme on insane pacing and fastest woodie on the planet.
When I first heard Montezuma's Revenge as a kid, I thought that was a cool name for a coaster and I was excited to ride it when I was able to. But when I was a teenager, I looked it up and found out that it was a name of a not so fun experience. Still one of my favorite coasters though
The name Goliath actually fits really well if you think about it, it’s tall and intimidating but in the end Is defeated by many coasters that weren’t nearly as tall or fast as it.
Hundeprutten should be #1 Also after the closure of Dueling Dragons at Universal Islands of Adventure A park in China called Guangzhou Sunac Land revived the name with the Dueling Dragons roller coaster that opened in 2018/2019
He thinks the name sounds lame... but he's *fine* with Fury 325. SMH. Magnum XL-200 has the same issue. its name literally just means "Big extra large 200 ft tall" which is sort of lame. No wonder everyone shortens it to just Magnum, which sounds cool and fits its gimmick well. it also means we can make jokes about how Cedar Point accidentally dropped its monster airtime for its Magnum coaster. :P
I really like the name Kingda Ka. It sounds imposing, ideal for a coaster such as it. Cannibal is another great one, in my opinion. Montezooma's Revenge is easily the most out there. Most people, myself included, associate that with the runs.
I don’t think that Fury shouldn’t have made it on here. I think Steel dragon should have since it sounds really cool and fits the theme. Steel dragon 2000 also has a bunch of steel supports to fit the theme even more. I also think that Tatsu, Superman ride of steel, and Aftershock should have made it. Tatsu and aftershock sound cool and Superman ride of steel is a play on words
I think if they dropped the 2000 from SD2000's name and just called it Steel Dragon it would be cooler. I never got the obsession with putting the height of a hill or the year something was made in the name of a ride. Millennium Force gets a pass because it's Millennium Force.
some coaster names i rly like that didnt make the list: the voyage, ozark wildcat, big boom, atom smasher, storm runner, adrenaline peak, lightning rod, hyperion, abyssus, pantheon, outlaw run, rewind racers and vertical velocity
My favs Gatekeeper - perfect name for a coaster at the entrance to a park, it also sounds intimidating. Nemesis - dark and foreboding Medusa - evil mythical creature
I’ve always thought the lockness monster was a great name, given is location and theming. That said I rode it when it first opened. It was scary and nothing like I’d ever seen.
Raptor at Cedar Point is a top 10 name. They received a cease and desist letter from Universal after they announced the name due to the dinosaur tie in, and sent a response that it was just a generic name for a bird of flight. Cedar Point set their all time attendance record the year this opened, at least partially due to the excitement that this name generated.
It doesn't appear Montezooma was the first launch coaster after all. But uh...ONE of the first to be sure #savedit

One of my favorite names is “Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape From Arkham Asylum” lol
If it wansnt a hundred miles long
A favorite of mine is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. 1 the play on words of rock and roll and roller coaster, 2 Starring Aerosmith is foreshadowing of the concert aspect happening in the ride.
The opening made me spit out my drink lol
I got some best name from La Ronde:
1- Goliath : yes, the name is use for a lot a Six Flags Park, but the Goliath is the biggest roller coaster in the park and, for a while, the biggest in Canada.
Steel Phantom was such a good name. Also, Lightning Rod is another RMC without a terrible name.
Lightning Rod is a decent name
@@AirtimeThrills I really like it not just because it sounds cool, but it goes with the area and theme very well
The name of the ride was going to be Shot Rod, a play off of "Hot Rod" which fits the theme of the area really well and the fact that it was a launch coaster (meaning you get shot out), but there was a lot of gun violence in the country right before they announced the name so they decided to change it at the last minute.
@@jeffc1347 Oh rly, I didn't know that. Well Lightning Rod sounds cooler imo. Plus, lightning kinda goes with the theme on insane pacing and fastest woodie on the planet.
Yeah most RMC coasters don’t have the best names but I honestly think that Iron rattler and twisted Colossus are really good names
Man I really thought that Cannibal or Primordial from Lagoon would have made this list. They’re super cool roller coaster names.
I love montezooma's revenge, but it was NOT the first launch coaster...
What was? Ive seen multiple sources claim it was
Screamin' Demon, Kings Island!
It wasn't even the 1st Schwarzkopf shuttle loop
@@AirtimeThrills the shuttle loop at KD was wasn't it?
This is the best intro I witnessed on this channel
When I first heard Montezuma's Revenge as a kid, I thought that was a cool name for a coaster and I was excited to ride it when I was able to. But when I was a teenager, I looked it up and found out that it was a name of a not so fun experience. Still one of my favorite coasters though
What's your favorite coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay?
(Kumba or Montu)
25 best coasters names:
Me: Thats easy
G o L i A t H
@@robertruge2916 nah, it’s gonna be 113 feet tall.
I kinda like the name too
Omg I'm from Germany and I never realized that Verbolten should be Verboten and Bolt. Now it all makes sense 😂🤦🏽♂️
The name Goliath actually fits really well if you think about it, it’s tall and intimidating but in the end Is defeated by many coasters that weren’t nearly as tall or fast as it.
Kraken is my favorite coaster name. It's menacing, and the color scheme is gorgeous
Hundeprutten should be #1
Also after the closure of Dueling Dragons at Universal Islands of Adventure
A park in China called Guangzhou Sunac Land revived the name with the Dueling Dragons roller coaster that opened in 2018/2019
True, i shoulda mentioned the Chinese DD so this wasnt so American centric
Also thank you, China
Actually, the name ‘dueling dragon’ was already on a gravity group coaster in China
Shockwave, Flashback and corkscrew were some cool names..not to mention cool rides!!
I'm shocked steel vengeance isnt on here yes its not really themed to anything but that name just sounds epic(cant wait to ride it finally in 2021)
Its on one of my lists all right
He thinks the name sounds lame... but he's *fine* with Fury 325.
Yo keep up the good work u are the only RUclipsr who has responded to my comment keep it up bro
Here are some of my favorites:
- Phantom's Revenge
- Raptor
- Zadra
- Maverick
- Lightning Rod
@@beau_thielen omg ur right! I can’t believe I was so dumb
WHERE THE HELL IS BOOMERANG
I really like the name Kingda Ka. It sounds imposing, ideal for a coaster such as it. Cannibal is another great one, in my opinion. Montezooma's Revenge is easily the most out there. Most people, myself included, associate that with the runs.
Best coaster name out there is BAAA Express at Europa Park, no competition.
I thought Kiddy Hawk was a reference to Nighthawk, but that’s a way cooler meaning.
Me: Hears that Maverick is the best coaster name at Cedar Point.
Also me: expects Steel Vengeance to be on after it because Chris made a mistake.
Haha...Thursdays video...just wait
Is this comment trying to imply that steel vengeance is a *good* name?
Lol I haven't riden steel vengeance but that name sounds badass
Yeah I really like the name steel vengeance. Top thrill dragster I also really like for some reason
SteVe is a much better name than Steal Vengeance imo
You totally forgot about Black Mamba at Phantasialand. It’s the most fitting name I’ve ever seen for a coaster.
As Six Flags America is my home park, I totally agree with you about S:ROS.
I think if they dropped the 2000 from SD2000's name and just called it Steel Dragon it would be cooler. I never got the obsession with putting the height of a hill or the year something was made in the name of a ride. Millennium Force gets a pass because it's Millennium Force.
Great video. I always thought Raging Bull was a kick ass coaster name.
some coaster names i rly like that didnt make the list: the voyage, ozark wildcat, big boom, atom smasher, storm runner, adrenaline peak, lightning rod, hyperion, abyssus, pantheon, outlaw run, rewind racers and vertical velocity
My favs
Gatekeeper - perfect name for a coaster at the entrance to a park, it also sounds intimidating.
Nemesis - dark and foreboding
Medusa - evil mythical creature
I’ve always thought the lockness monster was a great name, given is location and theming. That said I rode it when it first opened. It was scary and nothing like I’d ever seen.
They should open clones named the Loch Ninten Monster and the Loch Lucas Monster.
