I have used my canon camera asa webcam, it barely gives me something that looks like 720p with a cinematic DOF, by using the stock Canon driver, the quality is simply not as good, it's good if your screen is minimized, but as you said, for recording hosts, the chances of them owning an iphone instead of a Mirrorless camera are big.
I know that the preview is a bit choppy, but won’t this make it really awkward in real time for the people on the call (even if the final result is at full frame rate )?
I love your content, but I find this to be really weird. Maybe it's just me, but I don't find phone images to look good - especially the front-facing camera. Way too wide of an angle, scary-looking HDR, too much depth of field... hard pass. I mean, yeah, compared to a laptop webcam it's slightly better (but not nearly as much as you're selling it), but do people actually use those? For any kind of production where having a legit recording is important, nobody I know would use either of these options. I can see the FX3/FX30 in your wide shot... why on earth are we messing with this nonsense?
Check out the new Mobile as Webcam feature here: creators.riverside.fm/4aNBg5T
