      It's called obsessive

    • @N1mbleOne
      @N1mbleOne 20 часов назад +82

It's not as much discipline as you might think, he's talked about it many times in various ways, but it's your body adjusting/making a habit of something, and it then becomes effortless, your body craves what you might think is difficult today in your life. My last example of this in my own life is when I eat unhealthy food over christmas, my body gets filled with sugar and a ton of calories, and it's very difficult to go back to a lower calorie intake without sugar, but 2-3 weeks into my low calorie diet, I don't want anything sugar at all, I can serve family and friends cookies and snacks without even feeling any temptation at all to even taste it, at that point there's no discipline involved at all. What Bryan is doing is the same thing, but through many aspects of his day and life, we humans are amazing at adapting to new circumstances and environments.

It is not a discipline or self contol if you don't want to be in somewhere else doing something else.
You does not need self control to do habits, you just do it.

@@razrfalconrazrfalcon686 True, it would be hard to control for variables, but that would be true even if he was only doing one thing, seeing as genetic variations gives you a few THOUSAND different variables you cannot control for. I, for example, function best on ketogenic diets as my body has a particular dislike for carb heavy foods (still unsure why, probably gluten or oxylate or something). If my carnivore diet got me to live to 130 years old, that wouldn't mean it would work for everyone. My body just functions best like this.
You can reasonably make some conclusions based on his routine, though. I would argue that applying vitamin C to his skin is likely doing nothing as applying anything beyond an oil based sealant to the face isn't going to do much for complexion or skin health (imo). It's more likely that specific wave length exposure would lend itself to skin health over vitamin C inclusion. My diet is naturally very low on vitamin C, and yet all related blood markers are clean, showing that your body can adapt to defficiency and maintain function without compromising health, so long as your diet choices are smart.
One thing you could try doing that I've been doing for the last few months is supplementing carotenoids. I supplement lycopene and astaxanthin as these compounds accumulate in your subcutanious fat and can provide provable UV protection to you skin. It also makes you look slightly more full of life than this guy's vampire aesthetic.

You may do all of those things, but you could still have all kinds of emotional stresses and mental disorders you would never dare to show as an influencer. These stresses may well have you age faster, despite all your healthy routines and protocols. It could just be OCD disguised as ultimate health. One may also hypnotize himself with this otherwordly, perfect lifestyle to cover one's anxieties, the fear of inevitable death and whatnot. But that won't resolve them. After all, you are still going to die, and you don't know when, either. This will stay the same. Make no mistake, his routine is mechanical, it's based on disciplined repetition. Though he may do many different things throughout the day, it's all wrapped up in a pattern which he repeats. Mechanical repetitiveness can make you dull and insensitive, it will do the exact opposite of having you face your inner demons and repressed afflictions and so forth.
I am not saying this is the case for this guy. But this level of perfectionism can be very unhealthy in many ways for people who try to take it as an example.

Being “disciplined” doesn’t require as much willpower when you perceive everything you do in life as a step towards the goals that you want to achieve. -“when our tasks are aligned with our core motivations, we often need less willpower because we feel naturally pulled forward.”

I’m 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a me. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

I do think all of this will help extend your life and improve your quality of living, but from what I’ve learned, aging at the cellular level - like telomere shortening - is something that’s tough to fully overcome. It seems like even with all the therapies, becoming the oldest person to ever exist might still be out of reach for now. But regardless, what you’re doing will probably get you much further than most, and that’s really impressive!

I am have been one of your loyal followers now for a long time. I started following you first, then got my husband involved. We buy Blueprint products when finances allow. The comment I am leaving today is about this video you just made and the Netflix Documentary. In mine and my husband’s opinion, we believe this video you just made is of far superior quality of production and content. We were both so excited for your Netflix Documentary; marking our calendar for the big day. We have been so excited to get our 20 year old grandson involved with your movement. He had joined us in switching over to vegan several months ago. My husband is a very good cook and we have had zero problems moving from meat-based to vegan. Our only issue is my daily ice cream cone! Hah. So as I said we were so excited to sit down as a family to watch your documentary. Unfortunately it had the total and complete opposite effect on our grandson. And we also didn’t care for the documentary. The quality and the storyline the documentarian chose was off putting. The quality of the videos you make for RUclips are of FAR SUPERIOR quality and content than what Netflix provided. So this makes me go right back to a saying from our older generation, actually a quote from Napoleon Bonaparte. Which is; “If you want a thing done well, do it yourself.” Bryan you have much success with not just one company, but several. You will always care much more about your companies, your life’s work, than anyone else on this planet. Be careful with whom you put your trust into.
In deepest care, Ray and Tamara

Please make a recipe book. People need variety. Get some chefs together, make them use all your ingredients, could even create a show out of it to see how creative they can go.

You are now claiming you will live to 200+. I think things will get interesting once you reach an age of 80+ where decline really starts kicking in. Til then I only see empty words with little proof. Sure, you monitor you age of organs and stuff and try to keep it all young. But let's see how you will act in 30+ years. I think this is all still way too theoretical to have that claim.

He's not being spiteful. It's true. As of now, Johnson is just a very healthy guy in his 40s-50s. Nothing we haven't seen before. How he looks and feels in his 70s-80s will determine how successful this experiment has been.

I hope one day we will have a Bryan Johnson who will try the carnivore/lion diet and will measure his biomarks. From my experience I can say that I'm pretty sure you can achieve the same or even better results. Anyway, good luck!

1:59 Interesting because in a blog post at things-that-make-you-age-faster-and-slower it says that hyperbaric oxygen therapy HBOT was a large average effect but a statistically insignificant one.
