    YES!! You do NOT have to take the fender off! This worked for me- you just have to be careful drilling the pilot hole. PRO TIP: _start_ with a drill bit that just barely fits in the hole- at least 3/16", and then just drill a few turns to create a little divot so that the little drill bit (5/64") has a place to start and won't wander to the sides and ruin the threads and maybe ruin the whole fitting, in which case you WILL have to remove the fender. Thanks for a great video!

    You are the man! Attempted to unscrew the chrome nut on the old broken antenna for my 2015 Tacoma to get at the broken off piece. What a crapshoot, as the nut is rusted solid and WD 40 didnt help. I pulled up your video, went to my local OReillys auto store for a #1 easy out and in 5 minutes had the old antenna screw shaft out and my new antenna installed! You Rock!

    Worked great! Thank you!! Didn't even need the screw extractor... Drill bit actually backed it out just fine!

    Get a titanium drill bit and you wont break your bit or need an extractor -- I used a 5/64 milwaukee titanium drill bit to get the screw out for my 2010 Taco. Anyway -- thank you for posting this. Saved me a bunch of time and money.

    YO THANKS A LOTTTTT!!! I literally drilled with the smallest bit( I honestly don’t remember the sizes🙃)that I had and thought I ruined it because the bit broke. All I did was use a slightly larger bit and pressed reverse and it came out with the screw.

    I followed your instruction and thanks it helped. The only thing was I got lucky that I didnt have to use the extractor while using a 5/64 drill bit and it just came loose and took it off.

    Fantastic info. I'm going to fix the antenna now instead of sealing it off because who listens to the radio nowadays. It's Aux, USB or Bluetooth. At least that was my excuse. Now though, I think it's worth fixing.

      Richard C How long did it take you to drill a hole in the screw? And did you only use the smaller bit to make the hole?

    ImMy 2014 Tacoma antenna torn off from the Car Wash. I bought a shorter antenna went to a body shop. They said i should go to a mechanic who has slice and disector tools. Then the mechanic asked me to try another body shop. By this time, i watched your video and bought a shorter antenna. I went to a body shop without the Tacoma but showed him a picure if the housing for the antenna. I asked him if he has extractor toold and the answer was not convincing and he wanted $100! I went to another body shop and he said i should go to auto sound and electrical installer. I called and found a sound installer. Sent him ny picture along with your video. I asked if he had the extractor and he could do the job. His employee messed with it for a while with way too large drill nit and he does mot have an extractor. I told him to stop drilling. I do not want it chipped off to a point that i cannot extract it out. I drove to Home Depot and bought the two pieces. I am hoping a friend or a handyman can help me with the job cause i fo not have confident with tools Thanks for posting your video. There are people profess yo know but the fon't.

    How long did it take you to drill the hole in the broken screw?

    • @sharpimagefilms647
      @sharpimagefilms647  4 года назад +1

      About 50 seconds. It was pressed metal so the bit ate through it pretty smooth.
