Don Hahn is a treasure of a human being. Yes, he really is that genuine of a man.
What I wouldn’t give for a tour like this!
And Wow!! 65 million pieces😮
Thank you Don for showing us this exclusive behind the scene treasures and all the magic keepers
Tears to my eyes. So amazing!!!!
Wow that artwork was amazing...natural born talent
Let it be known that their previous CEO, Bob Chapek said adults don’t care about animation…. If that’s not tone deaf I don’t know what it is.
I saw a lot of these at an exhibition here in Australia some months ago, truly breathtaking and so much history.
Wow, what an amazing collection!! I wish they gave public tours. That would be so amazing to see in person!!!
Whilst I watched both parts, I will gladly watch it again.
The Animation Research Library is no joke.
@@Explorenit indeed
You know I think I'd become emotional in the presence of the items in these collections especially the original animation art! Sublime! 💗
Pencil tests were really great to see, blue and red pencil and the great work of the 9 old men
This is the greatest thing I've seen in a long time. Thanks!!!
That artwork! No words. I wish they would do more posters with some of those “best words” from the movie on it! Would be a big seller for kids rooms!
so much history that makes me appreciate the art of disney animation more.(do one of all the disney film/tv series maquettes.:3)
How had I never seen this?! If my life was a do-over I would most definately want to work there!!!
Love these videos of the places we don’t get to see. Keep ‘em coming. It makes me appreciate & miss hand drawn animation.
Me too! It really hit me when I watched the original hand drawn Cinderella next to the "restored" one and you couldn't hold a candle to the new one. Hand drawn has an allure with a depth and realism you cannot get with a computer which in my opinion is nothing more than painting by number.
An incredible example where keeping a big secret is a great thing. If this had been another studio from the classic theatrical era of animation, they would have been rather submissive about protecting their archive; once a piece had done its job, it more or less was left to one side and ultimately discarded, unless staff happened to rescue them from skips or take pieces home as mementos of their work. Few original cels from the original Looney Tunes shorts - Disney's parodying rivals in the day - have survived by comparison. Disney had the incredible foresight to not leave one small factor of their greater influence skimmed and disrespectfully conserved. Speaking as someone who respects protecting something close to heart, I immensely value this. Regards, Samuel Farris.
Disney needs to release another hand-drawn animated movie.
There's one planned in the future
Omg. These are my dream jobs. I’d love to go here before I die.
Saaaame
I have a dress like that too. I only use it when fighting crime. I begin by leaping into the air and calling out my ' battle cry' hero of the stupid!!! 😛❤️
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for sharing this this! It was so AWESOME to be able to see the artwork and the Maquettes. So Cool! I hope they do more exibits this artwork needs to be shared and seen
THANK YOU! Love from Argentina!
Justin is one of my favorite people in the world. So cool to get to see him doing what he loves.
My top ten favorite classic Disney movies are The Jungle Book, The Lion King,The little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and Bambi thanks for showing us these timeless treasures 👍❤️
Mine is all of those and Frozen 2! It’s the highest grossing animated film of all time! And I love the songs in this movie!
Same I love ❤️ both Frozen 1 and 2 as well as Tangled and Moana
@@missmanxee it's always nice to hear someone give a good word for both the classic and new stuff.
Amazing!!!
I wonder why they don't allow people to tour this place? It would definitely inspire people to pursue animation and art
Because the pieces of art are very delicate and need to be archived properly. They do expositions sometimes with selected material but later they need to go back to the library.
That stuff is valuable. People would steal it.
This is absolutely breathtaking 😌
Thank you so much for compiling this!!
It would be awesome if they opened a permanent museum where they can showcase more.
My dream job!! Being around all that artwork all day ❤
Disney really needs to invest more in traditional 2D animation.
WOOOOOW!!! I wanna work there!
2D Hand drawn classic works are timeless and Rules!
Exactly! Disney artists were the best and the essence of 2-d is completely lost with the new restorations.
this is so cool that it’s almost scary
Is there somewhere in US where we can see original arts of Disney studio please ? Why is there no museum ? Thank you !
4 of my friends have been to the Walt Disney Animation Reserch Library multiple times.
Thanks for an amazing tour and a look at the beautiful art.
Don Hahn and Disney Parks, this was simply amazing! What a great video and great place. So special. Hard to compare this to anything because there’s nothing like this. All I can say is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!! Thanks
Note: I just watched Dick Van Dyke reads “A Most Non-Political Speech” by Rod Serling | Mr.Vandy 9 days ago. He is so special I think Disney should do something VERY special for him. He is such an outstanding actor and person and exemplifies Walt Disney.
There are even a figures from Atlantis the lost empire how cool!!!
Disney found a cleaner version of their own Adam The Woo. Awww 😂
This is my dream place..❤✨
Amazing Art work
There were so many pieces of art and even notes from Walt at the 100 exhibition at Franklin Institute in Philly 🥹
I want this to be my job., I am the biggest disney historian and movie nerd
Inspiring
So cool
Amazing
I don´t think it will ever get better than this. How could the company turn its back to the art form that made it what it is nowadays?
I definitely want to meet the people at Disney.
How many stories did Walt WANT to do but never could?
Read Cartoon Transcripts (Like a Storybook): Donald Gets Drafted, the Army Mascot, the Vanishing Private, Sky Trooper, Private Pluto, Fall Out Fall In, Victory Vehicles, the Old Army Game, Home Defense, How to Be a Sailor, even Commando Duck
So cool!
I love that i saw peter pan!
Thank you❤😊 !
I’d go there instead of a theme park and spend a week peeling through the books with gloved hands
I really like a lot of Disney
Is all this at Walt Disney studios itself? I'd love a tour around here
I love Peter Pan
@Disney Parks Awsomee Great Video #ilovedisneyland 💖 #Disney 💖 #Disneyland ❤️ @Disney ❤️
"Someone once said what's the value of this collection. And I say, what's the value of any piece of art in our collection sparking the imagination of an artist nowadays to create something new." So he says the value comes from people seeing the work - yet the collection is housed in a secret location and not accessible to the general public. Does that make it worthless?
I like Tangled
I love the jungle book
Cool.
Can't wait to come to disney... If they still do 2d animation... Hopefully..... Maybe?
2-D animation is dead. If they do anything seemingly close, it’s still on computer.
@@MeowMeow_95_ yeah that's true
@@MeowMeow_95_ I'll just make my own company or join DreamWorks
@@INTERDIMENSIONAL_BEING657 dreamworks is just as bad!
I really like the incredibles 1 and 2
They just combined the two parter from last week and re-uploaded/recycled them, didn’t they?
Yeah. And I have no idea why they didn't upload this in it's entirety before. Uploading the same video into two parts was just unnecessary, if you ask me. Guess they were being lazy or something. 🤷♀
@@1992disneynot being Lazy. Shorter videos get more views on RUclips than longer ones by a long shot. They wanted this information to be seen and most people won’t even click on a video much longer than 5-10 minutes
@@gloriouslyimperfect There's still no valid reason for them to do that.
@@1992disney the reason seemed to be pretty well explained to me 🤷♂️
@@RocketCalcutta Nah. It still doesn't make any sense.
Why isn’t there a Disney museum??? All of that art and no one to see it in person 😢. I’d be first in line!
There's a museum dedicated to Walt's legacy in San Francisco

As his hair is falling out on everything. : /
I like the Disney wind in the willows short I love wind in the willows
My theatre did wind in the willows
I want to know HOW did they do the Animation????? I do cartoon drawings, of everyday life. I would love to learn how to animate .
Can't believe Disney quit 2D
I love coco
Show art from Disney's The Gremlins and Oswald The Lucky Rabbit
I agree!
Monstro has nothing on ME when I’m hangry…just sayin’.
I'd give anything to be able to put on those latex gloves and look at every rough animation piece they have on those shelves. I understand why they're kind of hoarding all of for themselves at the same time though
Q : Is this where the Military hide the entrance to the massive deep underground tunnel system ? The Maglev train system runs through it all over the Country . 🇺🇸
I like lady and the tramp
Is there a way to watch the full clip of the Walt Disney Hyperion studios? Morgue like we saw a bit of it in the video here. Is there a full clip for news or whatever it was?
I just love old clips for promoting. Or showing behind the scene stuff back in the day. And I never heard of that 1 love to see the full clip of Walt walking around it and talking about it like he would do in the office. Or when he was talking about epcot.
Also amazing work. By the way, I love watching your videos with behind the scenes and historical facts. Especially with the animation and making of the parks
´´ i bet you look fantastic ´´
All of this has to be preserved as American cultural heritage , this is integral part of creating americas culture and delighti g kids grown ups world over, not that others who followed are not in same league, but understand one fact who created it first giving wings to others imagination, otherwise there is nothing in american culture which brings people together except few things and that list i havealready mentioned several times in industrial revolution to medicine , tech but somehow entertainment got ignored which actually should have a place of recoganition
It's a shame Disney is not the same.......
I love ratatouille
I love disneys wimpy kid
I love pinnnhcio
I don’t get why the location is top secret. You have all this wonderful historic artwork just for nobody to ever see it?
Tbis group of americaans were not into tatti politics or ego power kicks but their work first
Prop culture Disney
just as diz lays off thousands of workers....sigh
I see too many wite people
No diversity on staff. 👎🏽
It’s based on demonstrative talent and desire to continue the legacy, not a diversity target. If you look across a wide swath of the company you will see diversity. When focused into this small specialty area, it’s not realistic to expect it.
Amazing
