- Training video for Days Inn new hires for the Front Desk position. This video is a guide to checking in guests step by step, using the soft hotel program which is used by the Days Inn hotels nation wide.
Thank you I got hired and only had two days training and I’m really freaking out before my shift tonight Ik I’m night audit and probably won’t see anyone but I should still know this stuff!!
I work at a Days Inn and Suites and literally had 6 hours of training and then they expect me to know everything the next day I was working by myself and I still freakout hoping I am not making mistakes.
When I worked at a Tampa Days Inn back in 1993, we had the old fashioned Micros Folio type register..No names were able to be saved or even input only room numbers..each night the Night Auditor would have to take each folio and insert into the MIcros and add room charge then the machine would pull the paper carbon folio through and print the room charge and updated balance..When I worked for Homewood Suites by Promus Hotels (circa 1998), we had System 21..much more user friendly...then Opera other PMS type programs..good old days!

Program is easy but for how much it costs alot of the drop down menu's should be designed as most common asked questions and fastest way to complete. Instead it reminds me of filling out a nasty application for a job u will never get. Like scan ID and it populates field for you. What's with the irrelevant pics that dont match what programming. Click this apple to see if room has been cleaned click F16 to manually enter DOB. After your done with registration click paint brush to input sales tax exempt

What program is this ?
I am so confused. My boss only wants me to authorize not actually charge the cards. I follow the instructions given, however it is charging debit/credit cards, not just issuing the hold as my boss wants.
Actually when you run the card it does authorize because when the guest check their online bank statement it will show pending but it will never go through because once the guest C/O then you reverse the authorization and not finalizing the charge.
I keep stumbling across the part where it's a prepaid reservation. What steps do I take if the gave me a different card for incidentals? I don't want to charge them twice if they used a different card while booking in advance. Please help.

No. OnQ software is used in Hilton hotels. I worked at one for years.
A video about prepaid reservation check in would be great
Prepaid reservation C/O is the easy one. Just double click the reservation and go to the top left corner you should see a drop down box next to the word reserved and change it to check in then click on the save button on the right side of the screen that look like a floppy disc symbol then it will automatically pop up saying it will charge the virtual credit card and you just click yes then bam it is checked in.
@@JustSmilePsycho would we have to put the virtual card info in where we would have to choose the payment, like don't we do it all over again? Repeating step 6

How do I issue a credit/debit card refund using this program ? I usually end up adding a second charge instead of refunding the customer. I get so confused with this?
Lisa Marie ig it’s in () parentheses it will charge. Type the number in without () there’s your refund. I hate this program have wrk for many hotels. It’s complicated when it can be so simple

You should still take a card for incidentals.

This software is so confusing. It’s very tedious. I worked with Hilton’s ONQ PMS system and it’s much more user friendly. Now I work at La Quinta and it’s really just giving me a headache.

If you guys think this is hard, you haven’t used FOSSE. That’s the worst software I’ve ever used and I just started my new job and I feel like a retard because I can’t even wrap my mind around what’s going on or what buttons to click. The software that’s in this video seems much easier.
Lightspeed is not user friendly.
