Flint Layfield I’m on a slow grow path here. I’ve been cranking out videos about twice a week. Something should go somewhat viral here at some point lol. Got lots more content coming. Thanks as always for being a fan!
Thank you so much for this! I did NOT want to take my Jeep into Plaza for an oil change- which ran around $170 last time. 😒 I feel empowered that I can definitely do it myself! 👏👏
$170 for an oil change??? Man I should be charging my friend that lol! Wow! This is probably the easiest oil change you can do on a vehicle! Plus the Jeep is fairly easy to get under. Ramps help but it can be done. Glad this video gave you the confidence to tackle this! 👍 let me know how it goes for you Emily!
You can definitely do a lot of maintenance on your Jeep yourself. Just invest in the basic tools and you will save yourself a lot of money in the long run plus you’ll always have that feeling of knowing your Jeep. It becomes part of you. It’s a great feeling
Incredibly helpful so I could do mine and follow along step by step. Very easy, but if it's your first time doing on your vehicle, it's always nice to have something to guide. Appreciate ya!
Very clear and concise. I know a lot of folks also use the dipstick to check and ensure it's correct. Never quite understood that if it asks for 6 quarts.. and that's what you gave it.
Awesome my friend! These oil changes are easy to do. So easy that the most annoying part is just waiting for all the oil to drain out. Lol! Thanks for watching James!
I did it! Finally! 😂 With inflation and having to buy the right socket and extension I didn’t save much. But I can say I know how to change my own oil now! Thanks again for the video!
This is me! And I've done my oil change the past 3 times 😭. When it comes due again, can never find the 8mm socket, oil drain bucket or anything else I bought to re use on the next one, BUT I don't find this out until I've finished buying the filter and oil.. right back I go. Always turn a simple literally 10 minute job (after a couple times doing it) into the hour I would've waited at the shop anyways lmao
Joanan Vega Hey Joanan, it really is that EASY on those jeeps! I can’t justify paying $75 and up to a dealership for an oil change that’s that simple. Everything is perfectly placed and accessible. And o got the oil for $22 at Walmart. Cheap and Easy! Thanks for watching!
Are you able to profile the filter canister? I always prefilled my filter in other vehicles, just got my first wrangler two days ago so I’m trying to learn all I can about it.
Oh ok good question Nancy! The torque specs are used as accurate numbers of how hard to tighten down a drain plug with a torque wrench. This is not a truly necessary and is really only for those concerned with being very specific. I usually just tighten it down by hand with a socket wrench and just get it nice and snug. Never had any issues with doing it this way and have been doing that for decades. Don’t over tighten it. Just get it snug! Let me know if you have any more questions!👍 you got this!
I don't understand how you don't have more subscribers. I'm sure if you keep it up, you'll get there. Awesome content, thank you!

Last time I drop the Wrangler off at the mechanic's to get my oil changed. This looks breezy. Thank you so much for the video!
Ha yeah Bryan! These are actually really easy to change oil on. Everything is pretty accessible! You got this! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for verbalizing the sizes of the tools you are using!! That is super helpful.

Thanks golden! The only time I really only use the dipstick is if the car is burning oil. Then I’ll check it with that. Thanks for watching
Thanks. I am also a owner of a 2017 JKU, and I just saved about $50.00 doing this myself! Thanks for the information!
Awesome you saved some money! Thanks for watching
Amazing video! Thank you so much and that's literally my car haha 😂 question how often do you do your oil changes?
Thanks man you helped me and my mother a lot she keeps getting screwed at the mechanics so this helps!

Start up costs are a little high off the bat, but you will save on subsequent oil changes 😉 as you will already have the tools on hand.
I'm doing the fiance's jeep same make model and year you were big help im looking at my Honda like why can't u be this easy!

@@joerivs80 no because in order to put it back in you have to tip it upside down.

Great video..... hoping to save money ... 2016 JK Sport
Nice! Definitely an easy oil change!
Great knowledge in 2024, thanks!
Thanks for watching my friend.
Excellent get to it and even fun video. Ty
Thanks for watching jesters
What is the torque specs? I have this same Jeep and want to change my own oil.
Sorry I’m confused. Are you asking what are the torque specs for? Or what are the exact torque specs? Thanks for watching Nancy!
@@GarageGear yes, what are they for? Sorry, completely new to this.

Mopar parts and Mobil1. Why cheap out?
Why not?
Wonder how you reset it when you don't have those buttons....
May depend on your specific model
@@GarageGear It's just a base Wrangler Sport. Turns out you just press the accelerator 3 times with the key in ON position
@@DanJanTube thanks for sharing my friend
Weird question. My oil filter doesn’t stick to the top like that, mine sticks to the bottom and I have to pull it out. Is that normal?
What year is your Jeep?
@@GarageGear 2017.
