That is pretty sick! Super helpful. I know the comments are mostly going to be complaining about subscriptions (and I do get it), but access to everything is nice. Plus they really did a great job with the layout and finding stuff. Great video as always!
Thanks so much for watching, Scott! Yep, I get it as well. I’m still trying to grow the balls to leap from Photoshop and Lightroom to a one time purchase app. My thoughts on DesignStudio are this through…If the value is there in a product, which it is here, and especially if you’re someone who makes money from your videos, then it’s a no brainer in my opinion. The subscription is tax deductible and it’s helping you to create better videos, faster. Which in turn, leads to more money and less time working. We do seem to be living in the age if subscriptions though so I get the frustration. It’s not going to be for everyone.
These tools offer opportunities for professional growth. I'd rather not buy yet another meaningless item and instead invest in my future as a creator. I can’t even imagine the effort behind creating all of this. Everything has a price, and I believe this one is worth it. I plan to subscribe. Thanks to the people who developed these tools, and I hope they keep improving them for everyone. I wish every professional to secure enough work to afford these amazing packages and services. ✌
Yup! You're 100% right. Subscriptions do suck, but especially if you're making money from your videos, it's a business cost that improves your product.
I bought 50 of their plugins and I have all the ones I need so it's not necessary for me, but it might be good for people who haven't started collecting plugins because it'll all be right there without spending a few grand like I did. I like to own not rent but it might be a good option for some for sure.
@GeoffByrdMusic Thanks for your support! 🙌 Totally get it-if you’ve already built a solid plugin library, you’re all set! But DesignStudio is more than a collection; it’s a constantly growing toolbox with fresh, exclusive content added regularly. We’ve even added two new collections since the launch, all included for DesignStudio users at no extra cost!
I always look forward to your videos! Thanks for this one Dylan. I might give it a go, looks like a great deal to save time and money if you dont want to spend hundreds for a standalone plugins
What happens if you sign up for DesignStudio, use some of the plugins on a client project - it's all good - but six months later you've let the subscription expire - what do you see when you want to open up your final cut pro timeline to make a change for your client and re-export? I have a feeling that those plugins from DesignStudio will no longer be on your timeline or will have watermarks - so now you will be stuck unless you pony up for a renewed subscription, am I right?
You can always go for a monthly renewal if you just need temporary access to make updates. This way, you have flexibility without a long-term commitment
No to subscriptions. No to paying over and over for stuff you don’t own and for bundles where you’ll only make genuine, regular use of one or two of the things and ignore the rest of the drek.
Thanks for watching! Ya the subscription cost the same, even if you have multiple packs. There’s 50+ packs in there apparently so even if you have 15 of theirs, you’ll have access to a bunch more.
@Geerhije DesignStudio was created to give users ongoing access to our plugins at a fraction of the cost, with exclusive content added regularly. Since launch, we’ve already added two new collections-all included for DesignStudio users at no extra cost. So even if you own several plugins, the subscription still brings ongoing value with fresh updates and new tools.
@@motionvfx Understood & Accepted. Even if i feel it’s unfair for thoose who already bought most of the Plugins you propose. For these plugins,i bought them and should also rent them…
Great video! Im definately going to try this. But I do have question. Say you cancel membership a year later. If you go back to your old content projects, will those transitions, titles, etc not work anymore?
@phodges0127 If the subscription expires, the plugins used for your project will no longer be fully accessible in your timeline. However, you can always opt for a monthly renewal if you just need temporary access to make updates.
No way, subscriptions suck, and there is no way I will use subscription-only services. I won’t be buying anymore, and I am sure I won't get a subscription.
We appreciate your honesty! We understand that subscriptions aren’t ideal for everyone. Our goal is to provide continuous updates and support through this model and keep it exciting with fresh new content every month!
Bummer. Saw this coming after the CineStudio launch, but had hoped maybe it wouldn't happen. Hopefully they continue to release standalone themed packs. If they do... I'm completely okay with this change. The subscription makes a lot of sense for people who have a career editing videos. But for standalone creators or hobbyists, this is just another "Adobe tax".
I believe they will, but I’m not 100% sure. I can’t imagine they’d just give up making individual plug-in packs. And you’re right, when you make money from your videos, it’s a way easier decision. Thanks for watching 👊🏼
That's how most (if not all) subscription free trials works: Adobe, Disney Plus, etc. And yes, it sucks because the only reason why they do that is because they know that there are people who forget to cancel the subscription and they get at least one payment from them.
We are asking for the details to validate your card and we are completely transparent with the renewal. We will remind you the day before the payment for a full subscription so that you can easily cancel if that’s not what you want.
Due to the complexity of the project (I’d dare to say it’s the biggest endeavor in our company’s history), we had to postpone the release of mO3. Our dev team has tripled in size over the last two years, and rest assured, they’re working tirelessly to deliver it as soon as possible. mO3 will be a brand-new plugin, thoroughly revamped and improved compared to mO2, with upgraded controls and OSC. It’s definitely worth the wait!
You will lose access to your products, but you can always opt for a monthly renewal if you just need temporary access to make updates. Plus, you can check out all the new goodies that appeared while you were away.
I don’t get the subscription hate here. They’re just following what everyone else did years ago, so we had to expect this at some point. I’m sure most people already have subscriptions to platforms like artlist, so now it’s just another option to choose from
Not going to be for everyone, but the value is there in my opinion! Something else I forgot to show is that it's pretty nice to have the mExtension window up on my MacBook when it's connected to my display. That way I have a big window to select plugins and my full FCP window on my display.
Your grandfather is back. I use an intel-based iMac 27in with 80MB DDR Ram. When I updated to FCP 10.1 the program crashes and quits completely EVERY time I open the keywords dialogue box. I am going crazy. Issue not mentioned anywhere online - I guess I'm the Lone Ranger. Have you heard of this, Dylan?
We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns about the subscription model. As the industry shifts towards subscriptions, we’re adapting to give our users more creative freedom with access to our entire library and regular updates. In fact, we’ve already added two new collections in less than a month. We will keep DesignStudio exciting and growing!
We understand, subscriptions aren’t for everyone. With this model, though, we can provide ongoing updates, new features, and fresh content regularly. But we appreciate your feedback 🙌🏻
I got excited for a second because I thought that when I have a project I could subscribe for that month while I have a project or maybe two months while I have that project to do and then I could just unsubscribe when I no longer need it. I don't edit every month so this just doesn't work for me. The fact that I have to be billed annually is the problem.
You greatly miss the point of buying plugins. Time is more valuable than money and for those wanting to save time, they buy plugins for their videos so they don't have to spend their sweet time creating plugins. I'll put it in a way you'll understand. The more time you spend creating a plugin for a video you're working on, the less time you can spend playing golf. Also, whether someone purchases the plugins through my link or not, I don't care. I'm only showing what's out there for FCP users because some people might find it very useful.

No worries, Richard! I realize it may jot be for everyone.

For this video, what subscription do you used?
@@Alejandrortz_ Awesome to hear DesignStudio is helping you save time and keep up with clients! 🙌🏻
It's very expensive.. Especially for Indian users .. Can't afford .. 😪
Indians can afford to spend thousands of dollars on 5-6 days marriages and expensive cars 😂 no?
Hi Dylan! What happens if I already have many of the plugins already? Like mRoto Ai, Mtracker, Mtracker 3D and many more ? Thanks
Well those plugins aren’t covered in the Essentials and Professional plan so you’d be fine with one of those 👌

I think so unfortunately
You will lose access to your products, but you can always opt for a monthly renewal if you just need temporary access to make updates. Plus, you can check out all the new goodies that appeared while you were away.
What sucks A LOT is that once you cancel your subscription, you can’t use the template anymore, and the ones on your timeline stop working as well.
