The hot water idea is quality advice! Plus, it’s a great money saving solution too!!!
I’m going to sew up a neoprene jacket for my spray bottle, to help with insulation.
Always looking for more cost effective ways to have a better quality install, and save money as well.. especially given the cost of isopropyl alcohol!!
Just hot water alone without mixing with alcohol, or hot water mix with alcohol?
@@ca_benz Hot water without the alcohol.
@@sar2908 i tried it and honestly i like the hot water. Is there any difference on tac solution between 70% and 99% alcohol? Because in my previous job i use to use 99% alcohol mix and it would bite quick and i feel the 70% doesnt bite that strong
@@ca_benz I only use 70/30 IPA for cleaning surfaces. The 30% being distilled water (or deionised water?) so helps clean away any water soluble dirt.
Great video,
Great information! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Eric your videos are awesome
Thank you!
Thank you for these videos. Very informative 👍👍
Thanks for watching. Hope you found value!
Thanks 👍
Great video!
Thanks!
Great video as always. I'm constantly learning from you! When you use hot water in the bottle.. is that straight hot water no isopropyl alcohol or a mixture. If indeed a mixture what's your ratio. Thanks in advance!
Straight hot water. As hot as you can get it! Thanks for the kind words! Please email me at eric@driveprotected.shop if you ever need anything!
Awesome video ! These videos have made me such a better installer ! So are you using just straight hot water for tac solution ?
Great video Eric! Is there any reason why you didn't extend and wrap/torch the corners? Does it not hold or did the customer not pay for it?
Thanks for the kind words. I don’t always do a complete corner wrap. In this situation, I was more focused on talking about when’s the right time to use tack solution in your install vs. Install methods. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks sir
Was this machine cut or did you trim the edges before the video? Very helpful video!
All machine cut! Thanks for the kind words!
Hey Eric .... how do you keep the water in the bottle hot... ?
How does yellowing in a PPF come from.... is too much sun or a breakdown in the PPF?
Thanks Andy
I don’t do anything to keep it hot. It cools off over time. When PPF turns yellow it’ll be cause of the anti-yellowing parts of the film have broken down.
crock pot
Once done applying the film is it normal to get a hazy look on the film? Also what do you use as your slip solution
Yes the haze is normal. It’s solution that’s absorbed into the adhesive. Give it a day and it will all disappear.
What Tac solution are you using? Mixture and percentages?
Just using warm water for tack solution.
How much would you consider acceptable to charge for wrap just this piece of the hood ?
Honestly I’d say $350-400
Didn’t your mother ever told you to not talk with a mouth full?
Hahaha!
Just stared doing ppf at Toyota, got an instagram or something i could ask questions? Great videos btw
