Marry me 😄 This sounds really good. My professor just played it in class for us today and this was the first tine hearing this great piece! Thanks for uploading so I can listen to it again 🙂
I found this piece to be utterly mesmerizing. I loved from 2:27 on how you kept playing over the C-B-C-F harmonics - especially with the glisses. Speaking of which, this song was loaded with harmonics! Great job! 👍👍
Thank you! I just recorded this today for a choir, actually, so I've been practicing it lately. The underpinning of the C B C F harmonics really holds the whole piece together in a beautiful way. And yes, sometimes I have students learn this as a study in harmonics! Right up your alley!
Jacqueline Pollauf - I'm sure that recording you made with the choir sounded wonderful. I know I comment a lot on the harmonics in your videos, but there's something so uniquely awesome about them. I think part of it is that I've always loved the sound of bells ringing, and harmonics resemble that sound.
@@gelguitarist I don't mind you commenting on the harmonics at all! I really love them too. They are very unique. I felt pretty good about the recording. It was of the complete piece A Ceremony of Carols, although I was just recording the harp part and now the choir will record their parts individually to be layered in.
@@JacquelinePollauf Yes indeed - they add so much! One thing I noticed and love about Sunrise and Liten Via Till Karin is that it sounded like the last notes of the songs end with the harmonic on the major 3rd of the root chords. By the way - I was talking to a co-worker today about your YT channel. I never knew this co-worker played the pedal harp and the organ in the past. He was very opinionated on which pedal harp I should buy if I can ever procure the funds for it!
@@gelguitarist You are correct! Both do end on harmonics using the 3rd. It's a sound I really like, and I think a harmonic can be such a beautiful ending to a piece. That's amazing about your co-worker! There are more harps and harpists in the world than it appears at first glance. Frequently people come up to me after performances (back when those used to be a thing) to tell me that they played a little or have a small harp at home.
Not only beautifully played but very sensible and authentic.
Thank you!
As a singer, this is the harp piece I know best. Nicely done.
Thanks for taking the time to watch this! I love performing the complete A Ceremony of Carols.
Beautifully played - not sure why I am listening to this on a Hot July Night... not just beautiful for Christmas.... well played!
Sometimes it's nice to listen to music out of season! Glad you enjoyed it.
beautiful
Absolutely beautiful! Had to play again and again to get my fill of this lovely music played brilliantly by Jaqueline Pollauf!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
Beautiful, listening while I make dinner on a fairly crisp Toronto night. :)
Thank you so much!
Enjoyed so much!
