Recorded in Trefoldighetskirken in Oslo, May 2020.
Video production: Trippel M - Levende bilder
Sound production: Jørn Pedersen and Thomas Wolden
Produced in collaboration with Festspillene i Bergen
    TEXT
Komm, Jesu, komm, mein Leib ist müde,
die Kraft verschwindt je mehr und mehr,
    ich sehne mich nach deinem Frieden;
    der saure Weg wird
    mir zu schwer!
Komm, komm, ich will mich dir ergeben,
    du bist der rechte Weg,
    die Wahrheit und das Leben.
Drum schließ ich mich in deine Hände
und sage, Welt, zu guter Nacht!
Eilt gleich mein Lebenslauf zu Ende,
ist doch der Geist wohl angebracht.
Er soll bei seinem Schöpfer schweben,
    weil Jesus ist und bleibt
    der wahre Weg zum Leben.

This performance is so moving and exquisite that words cannot adequately describe it. The bond between this wonderful Director and her wonderful Choir is extraordinary. Just listening to the chorale from 6-54 tells you all you need to know: perfect intonation and ensemble; wonderful vocal quality; delicious shaping and dynamics; ravishing cadences; and an emotional intensity that will bring you to tears.

Just went through this performance during an online choir rehearsal/session a couple of minutes ago. This is THE reference performance of the piece. Great musicianship

That is just beautiful! I understand every single word, intonation is clear and the sound of the Choir once again is close to perfect. Very touching performance. Thank you very much.

Thanks for a beautiful rendition. I was never a huge Bach fan in my younger days, but these motets seem to take root inside me somehow!

Aldeles nydelig! Mye pga.
