For "Finally Free" there is a backstory on why she wears layers. The vest was her late mother's and she was basically wearing it as a metaphorical battle armor. Since that performance was her first 'real' live performance, she chose that vest to wear to keep her mother's memory close.
Is no one going to mention that Alex smiles when Luke and Reggie sing together on the same mic? Just me? Okay.

To be fair to Hannah, neither of them were given the opportunity to shine, only a couple of lines in a few songs. They are essentially backup singers for the entirety of the soundtrack. (Exception being This Band is Back, although I don't think it allowed Jeremy to show his range.)

Madison actually almost fainted during a rehearsal or something for Finally Free because the outfit was so tight and the room was so hot, so I don't understand why they didn't just give her a different outfit
The costumers probably loosened the outfit a little to make it more comfortable as well as added some AC to the room to cool it down.

I binged Julie and the Phantoms in part because I noticed that you had 5 videos of the series and I was curious. The greatest choice for my weekend, I loved it.

Hannah, you probably won’t see this comment under all the responses to your video but when they filmed that Finally Free performance Madison’s dress was to tight and the location was so hot because it didn’t have AC so Madison nearly fainted. They took her outside for some fresh air and in order to lighten the mood Charlie said something along the lines of “I knew I was good looking but I didn’t think I was that good looking”

and talking about Madison... this was the first role she ever auditioned for. which is INSANE.
You should definitely react to “Zoeys Extraordinary Playlist” it’s a tv show where the main character Zoey can suddenly hear people’s most inner thoughts but through song, so they literally sing her their thoughts/feelings through popular songs. Surprisingly interesting show, didn’t expect to like it cause it sounded so weird.

The mascot is a bobcat, and this show has a lot of high school musical vibes because it was directed by the director of the HSM and Decendants movies, The girl rapping in “i got the music“ was actually one of the cast members of D3! Owen, who plays Alex in the show, and Savannah, who plays Carie (the mean sequin girl) were actually co-stars in a Nickelodeon show called “Knight Squad”, and Owen is also a small part of the reason she got the role of Carie, when he saw her name on a paper of people who auditioned, (after he found out he got the role). He was with the director, Owen told him how amazing she was and that she’s a really good actor, and an overall good person.
I think the reason they put ‘we got the music’ in is because the creator of JATP also created High School Musical

Edit: ALSO, some of the cast have sung other songs, Jeremy (Reggie actor) is actually in a band and he has a song out called Ballerina about his wife which you should definitely listen to it! I would also suggest listening/reacting to Maddison covering other songs like She Used To Be Mine which is the song she auditioned with!

Carrie has a very funny vibe, yes. She's not really a mean girl. She doesn't like Julie and is over the top sometimes, but never does anything bad to her or her band or her friends. She doesn't like them but don't ruin their chances either.
Also, she is actually a competent singer. If the show had gone on, she would’ve been on even ground with Julie.

Okay, so I've now watched all of your videos on Julie and the Phantoms, and I feel the need to give an explanation:
The first episode starts in 1995(?) with the practice from the upcoming band Sunset Curve (Now or Never). After their practice, three members of the band - Luke, Reggie, and Alex - go to eat street dogs, while their fourth member, Bobby, chats up a cute member of staff working the bar at their performance, who we later learn was actually Julie's Mom. Unfortunately for the guys, the street dogs they ate had a "new flavour", resulting in their death.
The show is about Julie who hasn't sang or played piano since her Mom's death, resulting in her losing her place in her performance-based school. Her dad decides to sell their house, seeing that the memories hurt too much for Julie to stay there. Julie is asked by her dad to go through her mom's things in her old music studio, aka their garage. However, while she's going through her things, the lads from Sunset Curve appear in her life, 25 years after their unfortunate death by street dogs.
Obviously, this startles Julie, but after hearing their story, she allows them to stay in her mom's studio. While she is eating with her dad and brother, however, the family hears the guys playing in the garage, revealing that the guys can be heard playing music, but cannot be seen by anyone but Julie.
The following morning, Julie finds herself ready to play music again (Wake Up), sparked by her new ghost friends. Meanwhile, the guys head to the beach to take it all in. They consider how long they've been gone, and what their families must have been going through. Reggie seems the most put out by their situation, but Luke gets the help of Alex to cheer him up (This Band Is Back [Reggie's Jam]).
Julie, however, goes to her friend, Flynn, with the news of her morning after finally playing music again, who excitedly helps her show her teacher (Bright) in front of the school, but not before her rival, Carrie, performs with her group, Dirty Candy (Wow). While Julie is performing, the guys see that she was struggling from the pressure, so decide to back her up on stage. During their appearance, the band notice that when they're playing music with Julie, everyone can see them and hear them. Julie is allowed back into the music program at school, but Flynn isn't happy that she wasn't told about Julie's "holograms".
Julie, fearing the loss of her friendship, tells Flynn the truth about the ghost band. Flynn, not believing her, wants to tell Julie's dad about this, having promised to let him know if she thought Julie was going mad. Desperately, Julie asks for one performance before Flynn goes to her dad. The guys found a poem Julie wrote about Flynn after she supported Julie through her mom's death, and they turn it into a song to show Flynn (Flyin' Solo). Flynn decides against talking to Julie's dad.
Before their little performance to Flynn, Alex met another ghost, who I can't for the life of me remember the name of but was played by BooBoo Stewart. Alex is majorly crushing on BooBoo. BooBoo teaches Alex a few ghost tricks, like how to interact with objects without phasing through them.
After performing to Flynn, Julie goes to school the next day with a fresh energy in her (I Got The Music). She shows Flynn a few songs she and Luke have been working on.
Luke, Alex, and Reggie have found out that their old bandmate, Bobby, stole their songs after their deaths and took the credit. Bobby is the father of Carrie - Julie's rival. This is especially bothersome to Luke. They decide they want to haunt Bobby, so Alex enlists the help of his new friend BooBoo. BooBoo, however, tells them he doesnt have the power to let them haunt Bobby in the way they want, but leads them to Caleb Covington at the Hollywood Ghost Club.
BooBoo explains to the guys that this is a place where lifers - the name given to living humans by ghosts - can watch Caleb's show about being a ghost. The guys go to watch the show and meet Caleb (Other Side Of Hollywood). However, they were supposed to be performing with Julie at a school dance, which angers her when she discovers they stood her up to get help haunting Bobby. As the guys leave Caleb's show, he marks them with his brand after they turn down his offer of joining his band.
The next morning, Julie sleeps in and misses some school. She gets there in time for a dance rehearsal, joined by the sports class. She is partnered with Nick, a kid she has had a crush on for a while, but who is dating Carrie.
The guys have booked the band a gig nearby, but Julie refuses to do it after they missed the school dance. Luke gets upset and disappears, and Alex and Reggie show Julie why he cares so much about the music they make, and why he needed to punish Bobby for stealing his music without giving credit. Luke has returned to his home, watching his parents sadly as they put out his birthday cake, still remembering him despite his death 25 years prior. Alex and Reggie explain that Luke's parents didnt want him to be in a band, so he had to leave them behind. As we later see during Unsaid Emily, he ran off and never got a chance to say goodbye before he died. Luke figured that if Bobby had given him credit for the music he wrote, his parents might have seen that him running away created something good too. Julie decides to do the concert, but is grounded by her Dad and aunt after missing school.
The guys, however, sneak her out to perform at the show. Carrie's band, Dirty Candy, are also performing (All Eyes On Me), before Julie and the Phantoms play (Finally Free). After their performance, Julie is approached by an agent, but her dad arrives and puts an end to the night.
Meanwhile, the brand Caleb marked the guys with is slowly draining their energy, zapping them every so often. They keep this information from Julie, though, not wanting her to worry.
Julie's dance class perform their routine. During her dance with Nick, however, Julie imagines herself dancing with Luke (Perfect Harmony). She talks through her feelings with Flynn, who tells her that a romance between a living person and a dead person would never work out, advising her to avoid her feelings for Luke.
Julie's dad realises how happy playing in the band has made Julie, and feels bad for putting a stop to her evening before she could get a proper conversation with the agent, so offers to host a show at their home to record and put online. Flynn helps out, and the band perform for all of Julie's friends (Edge of Great), where Julie tries to deny her feelings for Luke by avoiding him as much as possible.
Forgive my explanation here as I dont remember this part completely.
Julie finds a song written by Luke about his mother, Emily. Remembering what Alex and Reggie had told her, she approaches Luke's parents with the song, showing them his passion for music, and that he still loved them (Unsaid Emily). Luke watches sadly.
That evening, Luke and Julie discuss their odd relationship. Luke receives a zap from Caleb's brand, forcing him to explain that they have to either join Caleb, or likely die again unless they can pass to the other side, presumably Heaven. Julie becomes upset, thinking that anyone who gets too close to her ends up leaving. Flynn advises her that no matter what the guys will leave, so she has to at least help them pass over. BooBoo tells the guys that they are here because they have unfinished business which they have to complete before they can pass. The guys think that its playing the concert they should've played the night they died at the Orphium.
The band manage to land a gig at the Orphium with the help of their ghost abilities, opening for Panic At The Disco. The guys are being zapped by Caleb a lot, losing much of their strength, but try to pull themselves together for Julie's sake. Before they perform, however, Caleb snatches the guys and forces them to play with him (You Got Nothing To Lose).
Julie realises the guys arent coming, fearing they may already be gone, as they are yet to turn up backstage. As the band are supposed to go on stage, she rushes out, giving an emotional monologue aimed at her mom. A stranger gifts her a dahlia flower, her mom's favourite, which sparks enough in Julie to make her go on stage alone, seeing it as a sign. As she performs, the guys slowly appear one by one on stage (Stand Tall). Luke struggles to appear at first, Caleb having taken much of his energy.
After the performance, Julie is riding on a high, but goes to her moms studio to have one last look for the guys, despite figuring they had crossed over. She discovers the three of them on the ground inside, their plan having failed. Their zaps seem painful, indicating their times as ghosts coming to an end. Julie begs them to accept Caleb's offer, but they tell her they wouldnt want to perform without her. In an apparent miracle moment, Julie is able to hug Luke, then Alex and Reggie too. The zaps stop, and the guys feel more alive again.
We then get a scene where Nick turns up at Julie's doorstep to give her flowers, but is jumped by Caleb, who seems to absorb his soul into Nick's body before the door is answered by Julie, who suspects nothing.
BAM there we go. Theres another storyline in there about Julie's brother trying to find the hosts then eventually finding out that her bandmates are the ghosts, but it doesnt add to the main plot all that much. Hope this helps, and please anyone feel free to correct me if I've messed up the order or explanation of something!

ok so on 6:36 you can see Julie take on those high notes while Luke goes back to his main melody as well as Alex with the backup one BUT Reggie picks up on Julie's part so he sings in her same range and it blows me away every time!
You should definitely react to Jeremy Shada's (Reggie) music! He is really talented and his songs are great! Especially Uh Oh and Ballerina

6:39 : I know I’m 3 yrs late but is no one going to talk about Reggie’s high note in the backing vocals for finally free? I replayed it more times than imaginable. They all have such amazing voices but Reggie’s, not for any particular reason, always stood out to me.
In the song “I got the music”, the rap from Flynn is my favourite part.
