I love mine and highly recommend. I bought the large Costco Pot Pie...I would recommend covering the top with foil so it does not burn and take the foil off for the last 15 minutes..perfect crust!
I just want to say you provide the best air fryer reviews. No one else comes close. I was so impressed I purchased one based on your review. Love to know which one you like best of all the air fryers you have reviewed?
Well hi there, I'm just now looking at this wonderful video that you've done two years later because I'm going to purchase this one that you're reviewing. Anyway great job in all the detail with this review
I love your reviews. Ninja has become my go to brand for these small appliances as of late. I have their large smart air fryer/toaster oven combo with the built in meat thermometer. We love it.
I just found your channel and I love it. Your review is very thorough and I will refer to your vlog for other reviews. Thanks for doing this. This is the best review on RUclips bar none!
I just purchased this toaster oven. Looked for a solid review prior to opening the box. This review was just what i needed. Very informative and not rushy. I feel ready to dive in and enjoy the experience. Thanks!!
Awesome Review! In researching Air Fryers to find the right fit for me I stumbled on this video. So happy to have found you, you have a new subscriber and fan.
Thanks for the review! For those who have this, do u ever feel the need to upgrade to a bigger size? The oven seems too small/short and not convenient enough to be able to bake multiple foods or use two racks at the same time.
This thing is crazy. It should be good for cooking and doing a good job on fresh dough pizza without needing a stone or pizza steel. I'm looking forward to your further tests on this oven.
Great honest review. Thank you for reviewing this cooker. I have made up my mind to purchase one. Your pizza sounds like it would be delicious with the sauce. I usually make my own pizza crust (I’m guessing you might too since you mentioned you make your own bread but are obviously watching your carb intake 👍) so I can’t wait to get my new cooker and make a pizza. Thank you again. Happy cooking !
Thank you so much for this review! I've been really wanting to get an oven after struggling with an ooooollldddd gas stove I find difficult and scary to light. This is the oven I'm considering!
Great review. Thank you. I purchased this unit 10 days ago and the air fryer has worked well. Two questions. 1) This unit does not have a keep warm button. How do you use this unit to keep warm a casserole or similar type dish? 2) Since the temperature does not get up to the actual desired temp as quickly as the oven says it’s at the temperature (noted in your ambient temperature test) should you use an oven thermometer and wait until it says the oven is at the right temperature before cooking? Is there a particular thermometer you recommend?
I just got mine delivered yesterday Sitting next to my other 2 Ninja air fryers! 8 gt, 4 gt , Ninja makes excellent products. Let's just say this one replaces those two. 😀
Fantastic review. I have had this in my cart for a week, now I am ready to place my order. Thank you so much. I also just subscribed to your channel. I'm looking forward to your future videos.
Nice review. Thank you for doing it. I believe the reason it takes longer to preheat with the sear plate. Inserted is because of the heat capacity of the sear plate. You have a pretty big thermal mass that needs to be heated up with respect to that plate. So, the oven will take much longer to preheat with the plate inserted and take much longer to cool down with the plate inserted.
Review is very nice, loved you did inside measurements. Ninja says the old model will fit a 13" pizza where the newer model, Ninja says it only does a 12" pizza.
Nice in depth video. Thanks for the internal dimensions. Would you happen to know the height from the bottom tray to the internal roof of the oven? Basically I'm wondering about the max height of food or container that can be put in the oven if it sits on the bottom tray. Thanks.
Hey Darnell, love the indepth reviews of these countertop wonders. Just got this Dual Heat Foodi and traded in from the Foodi Air Oven XL. Was curious as to how you feel the "Air" functions compare? I am so happy about the griddle function as it really gives pizza a crispness that the XL just couldn't get right (BTW, I loved your tip about just using Air Fry for them, it helped a lot). Now I wonder if maybe because of the change in fan placement, the Dual Heat might be a less effective Air Fry device?
Wow. I was curious about this and your great review convinced me to buy it. Just did and very much looking forward to receiving it. You should get a commission!
@@WaveOvenRecipes: Ah, I see. That's great. I live in Norway, so a local store was better for me. Otherwise I would use your link. :) Thanks again for helping me make up my mind. :)
@@sharonmetzner1798 Yes, it will fit a 9x13 pan as long as those are the outside dimensions at it's widest. In other words, no handles, measure at the top of the pan. The Flip will accommodate a 13 inch pizza pan, for instance, with no problem.
Thanks for the review and great video! I have the old model and the bottom actually opens up for cleaning the oven. Does this one have that feature? I didn't see it. Thanks!
Different topic. I picked up a Ninja foodi a couple of months ago. So years ago my mother had an English recipe for a meat and potato pie, After she died, I looked for it but could not find. I think it had a crust on both top and bottom, cubed or diced meat and the same with potatoes. There was some gravy of some sort. Don't know about procedure or cook or precook times. Also with making pies, I preheat oven to 425, then put bottom crust in in a glass pie dish for 10 minutes before putting in the pie with the filling. If I don't pre cook the crust and go thru the rest of the procedure, the bottom is left raw. Comments??
Hi Darnell. I just received my SP-350 and it came with what appears to be four stainless 7 inch skewers. Is that what they are? Is there a special way I'm supposed to use them? The manual doesn't mention them. And I hope your pituitary gland issue has been successfully resolved. Thanks
Would you say that this one is a good enough upgrade to make the investment from the sp101(foodi air fryer oven) to the ft301(the dual heat showed in the video
Hi Darnell, I'm a bit late to the game but I was wondering if you tried putting the sear plate from the Ninja Dual Heat into the Ninja Foodi XL? I'm torn between the Foodi XL Pro and the Dual Heat at the moment. One one had the XL Pro has more vertical room. On the other hand it doesn't have the sear plate which I love about the Dual Heat. I'd even buy the sear plate separate from Ninja if I knew it would fit. Thanks!

Darnell thanks for another outstanding video review. QUESTION: Using the Grill/Sear Plate for fresh pizza dough have you tried, or can you flip the grill plate to use bottom to cook the pizza by sliding the pizza directly onto the bottom as you would with a pizza steel? Thanks buddy!
I have made some dietary changes. Lord willing, cooks of things with much "dough" will be a thing of the past for me. I don't think trying to flip the sear plate would work. It does a great job. It should work as is. Some book references relating to the way I eat now: The Blood Type Diet, Metabolical and I don't do it but like the book, The Gerson Therapy.
@@WaveOvenRecipes Thanks Darnell for the reply. I really like the ability to do 500 degrees for pizza and hopefully Ninja will upgrade the bigger XL Pro in the future. Best of luck with your dietary changes; I'm diabetic too and should really pay more attention to my food type intake than I do.

@@WaveOvenRecipes oh okay thanks. So you dont have any dripping out of oils or grease from your cooking with this product? We used a nonstick spray on the chicken and the basket, assuming it was from that.
I think you're misinterpreting the dual heat function. When selecting dual heat, you're telling the oven to heat your target temp on the surface of the sear plate. In order to achieve target temp by measuring the ambient temp inside the oven like you have with your probe, you would be using the "bake" function. I would expect a different internal ambient temperature than the sear plate. So stating the unit "missed the mark on preheat" is not fair assessment of the preheating of the sear plate. Next time position your probe on the sear plate when measuring Dual Heat temps. Otherwise a fantastic review. Thanks.
That would require Ninja to have a temperature probe measuring the sear plate, which they don't. So, if they are not using their own built in ambient probe to measure temp, it's a guess-fest. I stand by my assessment.
