The fact that you are doing this alone with your daughter is amazing and inspirational!
I wish there was an easier way for "African" Americans to get permanent residency in African countries.
We are called African first, American second for a reason. Once I leave here... I don't want to come back...

The best news that you will learn in Africa is that... No one is bothered by the colour of your skin here as compared to the USA.

Nairobi is definitely more expensive than Tanzania, I live in Arusha, it’s only 3-4 drive hours away, it’s beautiful city but definitely way more expensive than TZ.

Nairobi is costly when you want to live in a nice middle class neighborhood but cheap when you live in a poor neighborhood. It is even more expensive when you choose the upper middleclass places. This is not just a trend with Kenya but all over the world.

i want to come to Africa, but i don't want to keep moving around, is it cold in Kenya, I see your baby had on a jacket, is there not heat or air in these apts in Kenya. In Tanzania, if I got an apt =, u mean I can't stay for more than 3 months, I need stability, I'm been in the same home for 15 yrs, and 23 yrs from my previous location

Nairobi city in Kenya is on a high altitude of 1600 metres hence has a cool (not cold) climate ---- one of the best you can get anywhere. July and August are the coldest months with temperatures 10C - 20C (50F - 68F). The warmest months are Jan & Feb with temperatures getting to a max of around 28C (82F). In Tanzania, rent for apartments is typically paid every quarter, semi-annually or annually. In Kenya, rent is paid every month.
Nairobi was voted by the global expats community (InterNations) as the best city for expats in Africa.

People say Nairobi is expensive.. it's not.. it's way cheaper than most countries.. Nairobi has some very cheap neighborhoods like the one on this video and very expensive ones too.. so if you move into an expensive neighborhood of course it's gonna be expensive
