    I'm so glad to see this video! This was one of my favorite stews to eat when I was in Kurdistan. I normally had bulgur with it. I'm looking forward to making this soon!

    My favourite! So on this next week (if I can find the ingredients).

    • @cookingmyroots
      @cookingmyroots  4 года назад

      Zententia yay! Let me know how it goes!! Make it comfortable for yourself. If the turmeric is difficult to find you can leave it out (it’s mainly for the color), and the chili can be left out or substituted with another pepper/chili according to your liking ♥️

    • @Zententia
      @Zententia 4 года назад

      @@cookingmyroots The challenge (in the UK, small town, during pandemic) will be to find the right beans, to find (a good quantity/quality of) tomato paste, and a good pepper. Turmeric is fine actually!

    • @cookingmyroots
      @cookingmyroots  4 года назад

      Zententia ahhh I understand! I’ve had to experiment some before I found the brands and ingredients I liked. Hope you find what you need!

    Beautiful. My mum uses bigger beans. Is it the same approach with the bigger beans also?

    • @cookingmyroots
      @cookingmyroots  3 года назад +1

      Yes it’s the same approach. Soak them ahead of time. However, you might need longer boiling time since the beans are bigger. Good luck!

      I personally love burgul and that goes with many stews, but when I comes to this one I would say that rice goes best 😊

    when can i add citric acid? how come u didn’t add? to give a little bit tangy taste thank u

    • @cookingmyroots
      @cookingmyroots  4 года назад +1

      I only add citric acid to my bamiye stew, because that's how my mom does it and what we grew up eating. But you can add it towards the end, after you've mixed all your ingredients and will give them a final boil.

    This is not just Kurdish it’s Arabic food

    • @nehawendperozgerdi4806
      @nehawendperozgerdi4806 Год назад

      It is a part of the entire Middle East, not limited to Arabs alone. Having this dish in your country doesn't imply exclusivity; others in the region also share it.
