Ali Ridha oh wow! I’m happy I can remind you of that. Hopefully you can follow one of my recipes and feel closer to the homeland. Good luck with your studies!
I'm so glad to see this video! This was one of my favorite stews to eat when I was in Kurdistan. I normally had bulgur with it. I'm looking forward to making this soon!
Thank you for this video and all the other videos, I'm craving my mum's food every once in a while and always come to your channel. Keep it up, thank you
@@cookingmyroots no I should be thanking you :) im Kashmiri and my husband is kurdish and I learnt so much more from you because of how simple you keep it x
@@amah8056 this makes me so happy! I try to keep things simple and once you got the basics in place you can switch it up to your liking! Any recipe you want me to make next?
Zententia yay! Let me know how it goes!! Make it comfortable for yourself. If the turmeric is difficult to find you can leave it out (it’s mainly for the color), and the chili can be left out or substituted with another pepper/chili according to your liking ♥️
@@cookingmyroots The challenge (in the UK, small town, during pandemic) will be to find the right beans, to find (a good quantity/quality of) tomato paste, and a good pepper. Turmeric is fine actually!
I only add citric acid to my bamiye stew, because that's how my mom does it and what we grew up eating. But you can add it towards the end, after you've mixed all your ingredients and will give them a final boil.

I'm a University student in Scotland and your recipes remind me of my mums cooking when I was still in Kurdistan!

Thank you!❤
Beautiful. My mum uses bigger beans. Is it the same approach with the bigger beans also?
Yes it’s the same approach. Soak them ahead of time. However, you might need longer boiling time since the beans are bigger. Good luck!
Assalamu aleikum thank u for your recipe my husband is kurdish i would like to know how is better with rice or bread beans?
I personally love burgul and that goes with many stews, but when I comes to this one I would say that rice goes best 😊
Thank you for sharing this recipe, but wouldn’t it taste better with garlic?
I've never added garlic to this stew, but I'm up for trying new things!
Thank you! Zor supas gyan 💖
Sipas bo to ♥️
Hello can you please make beef meatball with nuts in kurdish style ?and kebabs . Thank you
I don’t think I’ve ever had meatballs with nuts in it. How are they served, or with what are they eaten? But kebabs for sure!

Hi Haleema, I've never experienced bitter beans so I cannot help you figure out why that is. Have you tried a different brand of white beans?
This is not just Kurdish it’s Arabic food
