None of the fireworks are shown here. AFTER the game Alford and the Broad Ripple coach got into it with Alford being accused of having a bad attitude. This game was an emotional one for New Castle and it played a part in there coming out flat in the night game against Connersville. Alford though clearly stated Connersville deserved to win the night game.
1982-83 was probably the greatest year ever for top players in Indiana High School Basketball.
