    I used this tutorial to make a belt 5 loops wide, 48 inches long, using 160 feet of cord. The twisting is normal and I found that walking all the excess the length of the house running it through fingers every other row worked well. Cats playing with cord made it interesting. Total weave time was around 20 hours spread over a month. Beautiful when finished, and no a 100 dollar bill will not get me to make another. Thank You Shawn for the tutorial.

    Made my first conquistador bracelet the other day, I didn't have a fid, so I made one out of a piece of wood- hollowed out the end and glued it a tiny round brass nut into the void I made, and it works like a charm
    I sold the bracelet for enough to order the "tighter fid combo set
    Can't wait to get it ordered, but I'm sure I'll still use the one I made

    The specs are 1.5 to 2 ft per inch. This increases with wider buckles and more then 4 loops.
    I make bracelets for 7.5" to 8.25" wrist on 1 inch buckles. 5 loops needs 22ft & 27 ft respectively. 6 loops add another 4 ft or so.
    Also working from the back of the buckle gives you a much nicer finish on the right side.

    Think I've finally got the hang of this, after a lot of mistakes and backtracking - the basic moves are simple, but it's amazing how many ways to go wrong there are! This seems more like knitting than weaving to me, since you're not working across static core strands, but joining each row to the row before.

  • @HazyNites

    Thank you. You have no idea how many of these bracelets from your pattern I've made, also you don't know how many times I've had to refer back to this video because I've went totally brain dead about which direction I'm going etc. It is so so simple yet my mind can't wrap itself around it. Ha ha I've got it now but wow! I like all your videos and just for your info you say two things quite a bit. "I just don't know what I did with my smoothing tool" and "I can't see the flame" too funny!

    A pair of small straight or curved forceps work much easier then needle nose pliers. because they are smaller and fit tight spaces better.

    • @tattedupdaddy1
      @tattedupdaddy1 7 лет назад +1

      Just follow this video, start by attaching the paracord to the belt buckle. Then weave the paracord like he does in the video, just instead of attaching the other end to the buckle like at 15:20. Just weave the length you need cut the tag and burn it. When you press the melted end into the belt it will self glue.
