Dami the rapper is actually the second youngest in the group! she is born in 1997, the oldest JiU born in 1994. SuA, the main dancer actually choreographed this, all her choreographies are a little more touchy LMAOOO
I loveee the choreography for this one! she knowsss the seductive dances are so hot! also you're the one who told me Dami and I are the same age..so interesting! her vocals are my favourite. I think shes my favourite member!
Since you liked this song you might also really like their song Wonderland. It's an older song but it has a trap/RnB feel to it. There is also a special clip for it if you want to check it out! ^_^
dreamcatcher \:D/ as others have probably already mentioned, most of their b-sides are non-rock and span across all genres. literally all of their songs are different. a lot of dreamcatcher's fans actually became fans from their b-sides for their non-rock but yet equally unique spin on all types of genres. luckily for us, dreamcatcher puts out simple yet perfect lower budget vidoes for their b-sides \:D/
Yess! Glad you’re getting into their B sides! Can’t wait for Black and White! If you want some R&B from Dreamcatcher check out the videos for Wonderland and And There Was No One Left. If you want Reggae, check out the video for July 7th.
I'm actually thinking of making those 3 songs you recommended into one video! their bsides are soooo good and I'm so excited to hear more of it! the vocals/dancing are all on point!
My favorite b-side is And there was no one left, but In the Frozen, Red Sun, Sahara, and Black or White are in the top 10 b-sides with Whistle, Poison Love, Break the Wall, Polaris, and Jazz Bar . Though the entirety of their Tree of Language album, their full album is a masterpiece and is probably my favorite album in its entirety. They are queens of b-sides. My fav title is Piri with Boca, Scream, Deja Vu and Odd Eye. Dami (main rapper, vocalist, dancer, our panda) and Siyeon (main vocalist, our wolf) are my biases. At first it was just Dami because of Boca; but by the time I got to Piri 3 songs later I was forced to make Siyeon a bias too. SuA (vocalist, rapper, main dancer, our queen) and JiU (leader, lead vocalist, lead dancer, our rabbit) are my bias wreckers. Yoohyeon (our puppy, lead vocalist) and Handong (vocalist, ice princess cat) like to try and take JiU’s spot.. especially Handong since Odd Eye. If you want to know them more “The ultimate 2020/2021 guide to Dreamcatcher: Welcome to the Dreamworld”, Insomnicy “This is” series- 2020 and 2021 versions as they are short videos, and “Dodging Disbandment and other extreme spots: A History of Dreamcatcher” are good starts. The Welcome to the Dreamworld guide and Dodging Disbandment may spoil you for what some of their tracks sound like for a few seconds each. Jiu/Kim Minji- 94/May/17, oldest, Taurus, dog (Chinese), 27 international and she is 29 in Korea. (Korean age is tricky.. +1 or 2 above international age depending on if birthday has passed or not at the turn of the new year), 5’6”/167 cm SuA/ Kim Bora- 94/aug/10, Leo, dog (Chinese), 27 and 29 like Minji/JiU, 5’3 3/4”/ 162 cm Siyeon/Lee Siyeon- 95/Oct/1, Libra, pig (Chinese), 26 international and 28 Korean , 5’5’/166cm Handong/ Han Dong- 96/Mar/26, Aries, rat (Chinese), Chinese member, 25 international and 27 Korean, 5’5”/165cm Yoohyeon/Kim Yoohyeon- 97/Jan/7, Capricorn, rat (Chinese), 25 international and 26 Korean, 5’6”/168cm (slightly taller then JiU making her the tallest member) Dami/Lee Yubin- 97/mar/7, Pisces, ox (Chinese), 24 international and 26 Korean, 5’4”/163cm Gahyeon/Lee Gahyeon- 99/Feb/3 (makane), Aquarius, tiger (Chinese), 22 international and 24 Korean, she is at least as tall as SuA so possibly between 5’3”/162 cm and 5’4”/163cm When they debuted- Jiu and SuA are 23, Siyeon was 22, Handong was 21, Yoohyeon and Dami were 20 and Gahyeon was 18 and still in school. This was after 5 of the members (Jiu, SuA, Siyeon. Yoohyeon and Dami had originally debuted as Minx.. complete opposite sound to Dreamcatcher. At that time JiU and SuA were barely 20, Siyeon was 19 while Yoohyeon and Dami were 17.. three teenagers and two just out of teenage years. They have been Dreamcatcher for 5 years and the former Minx members have been idols for a total of 7 years.
This is such a great helpful comment! You’re amazing for listing a few guides which will be so helpful when I’m finally choosing one to react to! Also can’t believe the girls were so young when they first started off. And it’s nice to hear we have the same bias! I’m sure I will have more too once I get that guide in and finally learn the other members names to their faces/voice😆thanks so much for watching & leaving such an informative comment!❤️
Ayyy! Welcome back! Glad you liked the song! Red Sun is a favorite among a lot of folks, for sure. Dreamcatcher's rock concept is only a requirement for their title tracks. Their B-sides are completely free game. You'll still hear some rock songs, but they their discography encompasses a lot of genres. You're going to love "Black or White". Both "Red Sun" and "Black or White" are both on the album with "Scream" and, honestly, that entire album is 🔥. Couple of fun facts: 1) The group's main dancer, SuA, actually choreographed "Red Sun"! 2) Dami is actually a rather good vocalist alongside being the main rapper. Okay. So. The touching... Super duper short version: Their nickname is Gaycatcher. Lots of memes about some behaviors and interesting interactions mostly between 4 of the members. SuA in particular is very touchy. So, yeah, choreography explained. Long version: 5 of the 7 girls actually debuted in 2014 as a group called Minx. Minx had a very "typical" girl group concept, a cutesy, falling in love type of concept. Well, due to a handful of reasons, they were unsuccessful. Eventually, Minx pretty much disband. It was a very heartbreaking moment for a lot of them. They had their chance and failed. I've seen comments saying that the main vocalist, Siyeon, didn't want to listen to music for a period of time because it reminded her that someone else was living her dream. However, from what I've come to understand, the company admitted that the failure of Minx wasn't the fault of the girls. They understood the talent they all had so the company made an announcement that Minx would re-debut under a different name. They revamped literally everything about Minx, two new members were added (Gahyeon and Handong), new music producers and stylists were brought in, and...BOOM! Two months after the re-debut announcement, Dreamcatcher hopped on the scene with their elegant horror concept and unique j-rock/pop influenced sound. It was a bold-ass move, to be honest. I hate saying this sort of thing, but it was especially bold for a girl group. They've had to deal with a slew of bullshit since their debut. For them to give 150% to everything they do after going through the things they have as a group makes me respect the hell out of them. They do it with grace and no resentment. Now that the history lesson is out of the way. I say all of that to give context to their relationship to one another. They are a family. Their bond isn't that of idols in a group. It's that of best friends doing what they love and making the most of it. So, being that close, some of the members are more comfortable with one another. That's contributed to the nickname a bit. However, there are some pretty intentional moments when uhhh...yeah...they're out here. 😂 At this point, they obviously know about all of it and they'll sometimes do shit just to be spicy. Some performances in particular are very spicy. On a serious note though, they've shown through various means that they do support the community so that's awesome of them. My suggestions after "Black or White" would be: "Jazz Bar" - chill song with vocalist Dami highlights "Sahara" - It has rock, but it's one of their self-made MVs. It's a zero budget kind of thing. Basically, they record themselves acting out the lyrics to the song in very literal, yet creative ways during their downtime while doing promotion shows. It shows a lot of their character. "Wonderland" - It's and R&B style song. "BEcause" - Their latest title track. It's spoopy. The first three of those are B-sides. They're dope. I've done nothing but fall more in love with this group. I did not want to get attached to a group like this. lol. At some point we need to get you setup with a guide to react to. Thanks for the reactions as always! Excited for your journey. Also, I know I've said some of the things above in other comments. Please excuse the redundant coverage.
Wanted to say that my history lesson is obviously still pretty brief and is probably missing a lot of details and other context. I guess just don't accept every single word as law. lol
haha thanks so much for this! Its sad to hear about Minx but so glad to see Dreamcatcher formed out of that. Yes a guide would be great because I def have so much more to react to from them and I become even more obsessed with a group once I get a background story! I mentioned that Gaycatcher nickname in the Black & white video I just posted! thanks for your comment as always! I saved your song recommendations so I can organize those for next week! so much more dreamcatcher coming!!!💜
most of their B-side track more diverse...like they can pull off almost all type of genre...probably becoz of all of the members have their own taste of music...
