I love hearing golf pros quoting Happy Gilmore! lol I was 20 when that movie came out..and able to golf a whole lot more than I can now..lol. Golf courses all over literally had signs...several of them, and big ones...saying NO HAPPY GILMORE SHOTS! Everyone was trying to do it! I love that seemingly every golfer who has that sense of humor...at any skill level, and across generations...still quotes that movie. I saw the video of Rick seeing if that swing really works. He had a lot better results than we ever did...lol.

Amazing to see the drivers working well for both of you.
Why not do an 'old school' v 'modern driver' competition so we don't feel compelled to buying new drivers when we can get just as good results from an old schooler driver?

Great series this guys, have you thought about going a little further back in technoligy and using the last of the Persimmon woods and irons of the same time, late 70's/early 80'S
Rick seems to putt better when he uses a straight back swing vs. an arch.

If it's in your budget Rick, I think a mic would help a great deal when the secondary player is talking away from camera or in windy conditions. No idea what's available. Just a thought. Love your vids

It's funny when I started playing as a 13 year old that Callaway was driver was my dream club. I got it for Christmas the following year after I started. I used that driver for a couple years until I started working and could afford to buy a new one. I remember getting some King Cobra(it wasn't the exact model that Tiger used in the 97 Masters but it was the closest thing to it) and hit the snot out of that.
Anyway long story short and enough rambling, my point was that I hit that Callaway really well for a novice and a 14-16 year old kid. Now as a man in his mid 30s who is in much better shape, much stronger and have been playing golf for some 20 years more I'd probably embarrass myself if I tried hitting that. It's weird how technology has made us score better but at the same time probably made us worse players.
Just shows clubs these days are they that much better ? Them cobra irons are up there with best of all time for me , what do Rick and Peter think ?
im gonna dig out my old Lee Trevino 2 wood and my Wilson Andy Bean irons from the loft ;)
When you go back to your new clubs, you might have to relearn some stuff.... not really, but things happen.... It will make you feel grateful for good equipment

What about the driver? He's hitting the second hand driver as good as the Scotty.

When this is finished you have got to create a final summary video where you both run your driver, fairway and 7 iron through gc2 so we get a final summary as to how well you hit them.
Rick, that is some serious right to left ball movement you are producing. At what point do you call them hooks? I know most of them are still laying on the fairway but they are beginning a long way right.
This is my home course. Beware, the back 9 is a stroke or two harder.
For the qualifying, the rough will be waist high. Come back and play it then ;-)

Alright guys I need some help. I am struggling to hit my driver straight and far although I'm hitting it in the center of the face. My average drive now is about 260-270 yards but my 3wood goes just as far and straight. My drive will either be a big cut or a draw. Any suggestions??
obviously work on your swing path then? and try not to swing too hard, focus on the fundamentals

Rick ruined this challenge by changing driver in the middle of the round. Goes against the rules of golf and goes against the spirit of the challenge. Aside from that one gripe, its a great series.
gotta bag that putter pete, shame rick went for such familiar clubs and not something hes not used before
