A modded wii was the only gaming device I've ever owned. I just got the steam deck and I'm so glad it can play wii games and I can dock it to the TV too.
You can emulate Wii and nunchuck in config>Wii set player 1 to emulated Wii mote. Go to controller settings select Wii controller then select steam deck controller or your gamepad if using docked. You can map it as sideways Wii mot or one with nunchuck. You can also use it's built in gyro or map specific gestures to movements on the trackpads.
@@murderman8578 there are a few but all of them either are on differnt system like android or steps are right but locations on how are outdated. But if you go to the settings I mentioned it's there. really good tutorial, only part i didnt like was that in chapter 3 you obviously reused footage from another video/s, replaced some words with "wii games", and didnt even bother to mute the music for that part, because the music overlaps with the music from whatever guide you reused it from, and its really messy.
Nothing happens when I try the shortcut at 10:50 of Select + L or R on the left stick during Wii games. I see no controller profile change on screen, like you’re seeing.
thanks!! I'm gonna check what you said about choosing only games that support the gamecube controller but I've played mario galaxy and had no problem with the controller , and it's awesome!!!! and I haven't even twek the graphic configuration , so yeah Imma check on that fact. To be honest I was expecting a solution to play NFS carbon or some Call of duty hahhaah maybe was too much to ask, but anyways I'll keep trying.... thank you very much, I've seen a lot of your guides and they always have something special, something other guides don't have, keep on it!!!!
Thanks buddy. I will dive into all different controller setup for wii, wii u and switch emulators on this channel. Include multiple controllers setup. Stay tuned !
Hi I have a problem. Super Mario Galaxy runs great at 60fps for about 20 minutes then dips to a low of about 40fps. I have to relaunch the game to resolve. I've changed some settings to get a steady frame rate and also downloaded power settings. Any fix please? Is this throttling? I'm going to record some readings. How long it takes before this happens, starting and end temp. I think that's the most likely cause. I'm only using 3/8 cores though and it resolves itself if I relaunch so I'm at a loss why this is happening. The game runs perfectly with how I've fine tuned it otherwise
@ED4T Just changed it from 3 to 4. 28 mins connected to AC so far so good. Finger's crossed 🤞🏻 It's really hot in London at the moment so that may be playing a part too. EDIT: NO joy. Fan speed goes from 3789RPM to 5097RPM and rising after almost exactly 30 minutes. Seems like I need to lower the graphical settings for Super Mario Galaxy. All the other readings are barely any different from the outset. No matter what I try the framerate won't recover unless I relaunch when the fan speed starts going crazy. I do have fan rattle but that hasn't affected performance in regular Steam games so I thought nothing of it. Possibility of this affecting performance? Graph calms right down after a relaunch. So annoying!
hi sir! I hope you can help me with my WII controller set up problem. I followed your wii set up guide... Upon launching the game, I was asked to disconnect an extension controller which I was able to figure out by going to Dolphin controller settings and change the NUNCHUK to NONE. When I launched the game again, it work, but this time the direction button is not configured correctly. When I press the right direction nothing happens to the character, the character will move to the right of the game when I press the down direction, and so forth... I tried tinkering the directions buttons settings, but when I launched the game again, this time even the START button is not working! I can't even start the game...😬 Here are my settings: under DEVICE i choose SOFTWARE STEAMDECK CONTROLLER. under the buttons: A > Click 1, B > Click 3, 1 > 1, 2 > 2, - > Q, + > E, HOME > Return

My rom manager doesn't have the generate app list. I have to add everything manually. Also my games crash at launch, and I'm not sure how to fix it. I'm guessing it's because I don't have the dolphin.appimage but use the dolphin executable from the tools folder in emulation.
I need help with motion control for wii emulation. I installed Gyro DSU and tried different settings, but I can‘t activate motion control on steam deck in dolphin. Which settings are necessary for this?
What is the point of Emulation Station when you can just use Steam Rom Manager and have collections in game mode? I'm confused. Is it to have everything consolidated in one app?
Yes with emulation station It will consist all your emulation games in one place. it’s a one spot to access all games. Make deck libraries looks more clean and organized.
Might want to set the controls for each game individually try it with one then go back to game mode and try again and see if that does the trick for you
So I’m on emufeck and smash brawl (Wii) loads up. But for some reason when I go into a game and I’m using the steam deck itself as my controller, player 2 is automatically connected as a, “wii remote” and it follows my player 1 cursor around wherever I move, like wtf is that about lol? How do I turn off the wii remote for player 2? I don’t even have a wii remove HOOKED UP to my steam deck LOL! It’s just detecting one by itself! RANDOMLY! Anyone have SB Brawl on their steam deck and this happened to them? Thank you!
@@ED4T Thank you! One more thing, and this one may be harder but, the c-stick doesn’t work for smash bros brawl. You try to use the c stick for smash attacks and it just doesn’t work. I see others online have written about the same thing, I wonder if anyone has found a fox for that? I mean it works in the character select screen, allowing you to move the screen around, but when you’re in game, it won’t let you use the GameCube controller and the usual c stick, it’s weird. And I’m using an official Nintendo GameCube Bluetooth controller too lol. Idk why it won’t detect the c stick how it’s supposed to
