I am refusing to update Emudeck stuff, since it already works great AND it still has Yuzu stuff on it in case I need it
Updating doesn't remove your installed Yuzu, it just gets rid of the option of installing it for people that didn't already have it.
I placed my iso roms in their respective folders in the games folder and RPCS3 does not recognize it. Anyone else and how to fix it please
you need extract iso to get game folder and copy the folder into the rom directory. iso rom itself wont work. you can check my PS3 ROM video .
@@ED4T yeah maybe that’s what I’m missing, thanks for the response brother! I really appreciate it 😁
@rejectgodhood3219
I showed everything in this video.

RPCS3 PS3 Game ROMs Setup Guide / Tutorial / How to 2024
ruclips.net/video/MpsuwGG1U0o/видео.html
@@ED4TWell I got the games showing up now and opened them in desktop mode before adding them to Steam. In desktop mode the games load up fine but don’t recognize the game pad and in gaming mode they don’t open at all. Damn updates just ruined the process entirely 😢
Did you check pinned comment under this video ? There is an update with controller setup.
Thank you so much for this video very informative and explained. I was hoping to emulate GTA 5, have you tried and had issues with this game yet my friend?
thank you, I have never tested GTA 5 on RPCS3 since its on steam pc game.
@@ED4T ahh yes valid point friend. What about metal gear solid 4, would you check that out one day?
Please upload tutorial for adding cheats to pcsx2 via emudeck?
will try but no promise.
@@ED4T it's quick and easy I think but think the wider community should know
I love this. Simple on point. But question lol where do I put the DLC files
I just put them in the same folder as the games.
Bro ur deck looks so sick! Where can i get this white shell?
Thanks for the great guide as always Ed. Are there any hot keys for RPCS3 at all for the Deck?
One of my games (NBA Jam - On Fire Edition runs super sped up and I am not sure how to correct this.
np, dude. thank you. you can go to rpcs3 emualtor from desktop and set the hotkeys inside the Emulator. also there is speed you can just from custom gaming setting by select the game then change game custom settings. hope this helps you.
@@ED4Tlike you said - it was an update to RPCS3 that broke the game. A perfect example to go for standalone emulators over Emudeck as you said. Updating the emulator corrects this. Thanks again.
Before I would just launch a gamecube game in gaming mode and it would launch, but NOW when I launch a gamecube game it goes to the dolphin menu and I have to select the game though the dolphin menu. It never did that until now.... Any tips?
Same with my rpcs3 games like wtf did emudeck do
they messed up the configuration files. just use standalone . i will do a video will gamecue standalone soon.
good tutorial but i have a problem, when you show the new folders that were added in the PS3 Emulation folder, on my screen i am missing the games folder and dev_hdd0 folder.
You can try redo the file patch step. Or you can manually create hdd0 folder from the virtual file manager tab.
@@ED4T i tried both methods, still cant get hdd0
Controller does not seem to work when running via the game mode
Check pinned comment. There is an update
@@ED4T works! I can play Child of Eden again (loved playing it on xbox)
I installed the firmware and it showed the firmware in the list of games but when i restarted, it was gone
Still can’t get rpcs3 to work on steam deck I’ve been trying for months
Am I the only one who installed the stand alone emulator it worked perfectly but after an update I can now only play from desktop mode on steam mode the controller doesn’t work anymore?
Have you try to re configure the controller settings from desktop mode? Also double check if your steam controller layout is in gamepad and joystick mode under gaming mode.
@@ED4T Yes I tried all that unfortunately still running into the same problem
you can fix the controller this way. the new RPCS3 updates on Mar 27th somehow messed up the steam deck gaming mode.
but we can fix this easily
go to steam deck desktop mode - open standalone RPCS3 appimage - configuration - Pads - Under Play1 - change Handlers to Evdev then under devices it should show Microsoft -Xbox 360 Pad 0 - click save. that's all
Now, the controller will work in both desktop mode & gaming mode.
@@ED4T Thank you so much you are from now on my go to your amazing and love the content
no problem man. happy gaming!@@alonzobronx3144
Thank you so much! What does deleting one of the percentages do exactly?
what is the name of the game around 1:16
My controller doesn't work in gaming mode, did everything as instructed, don't know what I am doing wrong, help please
Pls check pinned comment. There is an update.
@@ED4T thank you so much for replying, your videos are the easiest, I learned a lot from your videos and now my steam deck is an ultimate emulation machine, all thanks to you, subscribed. Can’t wait to see more vids from you. Please make a video about trainers in steamdeck to use with repacks and how they work. Thanks again for your hard work.
in gaming mode any ps3 game ,I get a frozen screen , it works fine in desktop mode
Try to recreate the shortcut from desktop and make sure remove 2 %symbols. Do not remove or add any empty space when removing the %.
@@ED4T when run any game in full screen in gaming mode the image frozes but in window mode does not, may be is the OS because i swap the ssd for de LCD model to the OLED model may be thats the problem
Could be possible.
I personally like "Batocera" on a separate SD card.
yeah thats good too. will make a dedicated video for Batocera soon.
Can make video for cemu please ? For some reason I cannot find the shader cache folder and all my cemu games are running horribly
yes will do soon. stay tuned !
Did you try twisted metal for ps3? how does it run now?
Yes dude I tested that it’s still not running well. Average 10to 15fps
When I load the game from steam OS, the controls won’t work, but when I play in desktop mode the controls work, but when I press “B” it interacts as if I’m minimizing the game.
Check pinned comment pls.
You can use emudeck to do all of this automatically and then don't use it to update if you don't feel like updating ?
What's the games like as I know not every game will work. Need a good powerful pc for that
I have no idea why but the controller will not work for mortal kombat 9
check pinned comment. there is an update.
can't get it to work, when i want to add the virtual folders part it gives an error... created a desktop folder for ps3 emu but nothing works, emudeck also can't work for me.
When I went to download the update from the ps website, the file keeps getting corrupted
Why is that happening ?
Try with a different internet browser .
Lutris is by far the easiest way to add emulator games to your steam library but for some reason the ones that play through retroarch don't recognize controls in gamepad mode only in mouse and keyboard mode.
I suppose that if they are no game patch it's because the game do not have one
i have tried this method but the game won't run on game mode after creating the shortcut and deleting the 2 % on properties
When i try to open the game from the shortcut on game it would crash but when open it from rpcs3 on both game mode and desktop mode it will run, what should i do?
did you remove 2x% symbol as i show in the video at 11:00? if you did not do this the shorcut will not work.
Actually yes i did but i don’t know what’s wrong and why it won’t run🥲
make sure no extra space is added or removed when you are removing the % symobal. try to delete the shortcut and create a new one then just remove 2 %.
@@ED4T idk man i did what you told me and its the same i found the shortcut in game mode but when i open it it just crash, should i start from over again?
I get database missing error
I have everything installed all my files and firmware are correctly installed as well but when I put the roms in the roms folder i open the emulator up and nothing shows on my deck. The emulator starts up fine.
you have the wrong format games. check out my game rom video pls.
@@ED4T Ok thanks
I’m not able to download the ps3 update any idea what to do ?
@ED4T i put the iso in the games folder and refreshed the emulator and nothing is showing up
I can’t use my steam that controls, and I did exactly what you said on pads
None of my games are adding and I can’t figure out how to convert them to iso format. Any ifeas
This new emu deck update has made everything confusing, half the stuff has seemed to disappeared
Having some trouble shooting with both emudeck version and then trying to do standalone version of RPCS3. Hard to explain
Can you do a Xenia version
XBOX and XBOX360 on STEAM OS Not recommended for play
All game movie are blacked screen bugs。
Game If it crashes, even saves will be lost. troublesome Delete HDD files.
No problem on steamdeck Windows
that's not true. there are some games are just running perfectly on deck for xbox360 & xbox. I will make a standalone video for xbox360 & xbox
Done all this but steam deck controller not working in desktop mode, pressing X brings up the on screen keyboard? What's up with this?
Do all ps3 games work ok using this method? I tried to get motorstorm to work but there is big time lag
im with you emudeck is worse every update now! Thx again M8!
Yeah. Man I hate their nonsense updates. I am afraid they will add more ads stuff into it too in the future.
Mine did not create the games folder in my ps3 emulation folder?
Any fix for this? Mine didn’t either
@@VanchaMarcH I deleted everything and restarted the process and it worked the second go round
Im not having any issues with emudeck, no need for standalones.
good for. you.
Is it still ok to do PS2 via Emudeck after the update, or should I go the standalone route for PS2 as well?
I mean it's all up to you. EmuDeck most of time has no issues. but some time the update just mess up the whole thing, the worst thing is you cannot deny the updates, it will force you update once you open up emudeck. The standalone emulator is more stable and everything is in your own control.
I don't have a games folder to put the iso in
Hi Ed, how do you get the ps3 games to display full screen on the deck ?
You can set the emulator launch gaming in full screen mode by default. There is a setting you can do from desktop mode.
@@ED4T Thanks Ed !
White steam deck is oled or lcd looks more beautiful than the orgianl now
agree on the new emudeck updates , total garbage now, spent hours fixing steam rom manager , imagine making a tool to ease up emulators install only for it to become so trash that it's easier to setup all manually, sheesh.
HELP
This guide is absolutely fantastic, I followed step by step. Game loads up, by none of the buttons seem to work at all, I went to pads and selection what you said. But I tried two games and none of the buttons worked at all. Any ideas? Thanks 😊

How do u have your hard disc drive read successfully? Mine has a pass lock and the steam can't seems to be able to open it and input password
it registers inputs but it doesnt show it because linux thingy
sorry, i havent tested any hard disc drive my steam deck.
How the hell did you get a white steam deck?
wow. in white it looks crazy.
I haven't used emudeck since i put windows on my steam deck. Now i have the tech toy tinkerers emulation station setup and it works great.
You put windows on steam deck you crazy why would you do that most reason I passed on handhelds they have windows so far I don’t handheld but I’m going for steam deck more and more new handhelds are out and reviews are let down
It's not reading my iso files
Can u pls help me, my game shows up in steam rom manager but doesnt show up in the emulator folder i have to search and add it on the mainscreen . It was working before the update
sorry I am not sure what are you talking about. are you using EmuDeck or standalone RPCS3? there is no steam rom manager for standalone emulator only steam library. also, do you mean game wont show up in the emulator game list interface?
@@ED4T for steam rom manager.
So for example I would add my games to the folder , for example (gbc) I go to steam rom manger load the art save it. When i go back to steam menue the game doesnt show up in (gbc) i have to type the name in and then add it to the collection. It was working perfect before the update. Its all my games having this issue.
Games folder was not created for me, can I just create it myself?
Yes If it doesn’t then just create your own.
Have u tried TLOU PS3 on Steam Deck ? Does it run well ?
DO I need to unnistall EMU deck all together?
It doesn’t matter. It’s up to you. They are running separately. The standalone rpcs3 and EmuDeck.
I am getting a weird error when trying to get to recognize the folder to load the games . WHen I go Virtual File System and add the correct path, I click save and get a "Fatal Error" Segfault reading location. I am not sure how to go around that.@@ED4T
